  1. Here are some better photos of 702 and 703 crowns courtesy of Ubi. They're wrapped the same way as the 8mm so this is the look you're after.

  2. That's a beautiful result. That said, never say never ... just when you think it's done something else comes along. Look at the "case" side of your 8mm crown. See how smooth it is? A gen crown has thin stainless wrapped over a brass form, and you can see the rough edges on the inner face. I'm sorry I don't have a better picture, but here are two to show what I mean. I bet you could take some jeweler's tools and scribe the inner face of your crown to make it look more like the gen piece. With your skills it shouldn't be hard at all. Athaya crown Gen crown

  3. Installed a Gen Crown today. I measured the Rep Crown and it is Gen Spec. Same Size and Diameter. The stem must be cut a bit to screw fully in. Gesendet von meinem Mi MIX 2S mit Tapatalk

  4. Yes the insert engraving colour is better on arf but they are too deep on arf’s, Noob is better in that respect. My Noob insert is off getting edge refinishing to the numerals and platinum style sputter coating so fingers crossed it will look nice upon return. Date font is good on the noob and much closer to gen. The dials are identical as I’ve compared both. Lugs are a fraction thinner on Noob and he valve is darker. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  5. "Yea I’m going to only make some subtle aging to the whole watch, nothing serious. I think it’s good enough to not be masked by excessive wear that you will rarely see in the genuine watches." I agree. Many project watches have been ruined by artificial ageing...imho. I have a small collection of 1601/1603/6605 DJ in 'as found' condition and only one shows excessive wear and they are 50 to 60 years old.
