  1. After two rounds of rejecting QC shots from Puretime. Primarily due to misaligned markers, pearl and poor pearl quality. Approved the third one. It’s winging its way to me now via the UK. I‘ll post some shots on arrival.

  2. Beautiful watch and great story. My grandfather was a watchmaker when the Accutrons were originally released. I remember the week my grandfather had to spend in NY for Accutron training and how he returned with a new gold Spaceview. Although he sold many expensive watches, throughout my entire childhood, that Spaceview was the only watch I was never allowed to touch. In my case, when my father died, I received his Accutron, which he got from my grandfather. I long ago acquired a Spaceview conversion kit, but decided to keep the watch as-is.

  3. If it looks great to you then accept it. QC photos are for you to ensure that’s it’s the correct rep with no obvious damage or defects. All reps will have something wrong with them if you look closely enough so if you can’t see anything wrong then it’s good enough. If someone else spots something small such as a slightly misplaced indice then you’ll reject the watch yet the next one could be worse!

  4. I agree. What a great story about a gorgeous piece. After very careful consideration, I feel that I personally would benefit from using genuine movements in my treasured, gen parts franken builds. There are only 2-3 pieces on this list for me, and I would be short changing myself and defeating the purpose if I did not use as many gen parts as physically possible. The movement is part of that. For other pieces, which are more for fun, then I am absolutely willing to use ETA movements in those. They serve a different purpose.

  6. How about a little reminder? Do you remember working on this one? You're the reason this case is so perfect!
