I watched a plane go in just south of Rosslyn in VA on a completely different flightpath than the normal approach to DCA (looking out my window in Georgetown DC across the river) A few seconds later there was an explosion. I can say with 100% certainty that there was a plane on its way down in that area within 5 seconds of the explosion and the smoke plume.

The only real engineering difficulty would be the combination bezel-turner and reset pusher... i would be happy with a non-functional stationary bezel...

I, too, am interested in titanium breitling buckles... are gens ridiculously expensive?

I believe that the smaller size hands for the 6'oclock subdial that David supplies are identical to the subdial hands of the 212. I'm not positive, though.

Has anyone had any experience using an epoxy to fix two (largish) stainless pieces together? I remember the thread about the Arktos bezel legends... those are relatively small pieces, though. I'm say, trying to replace a stripped crown guard screw... with epoxy... Has anyone any experiences with metalset or similar products?

I was under the impression that the dials on the 7750 and 7753 daylights are identical... and those seem to work just fine...

Why would the dial be different for a 7753?

The price would be max $70, closer to 60 probably. The dome would be .8mm lower than on the current crystal. (4.6mm vs 5.4mm thickness at center) the profile would be otherwise identical, just with a slightly flatter curvature to the dome. It would be sapphire, A/R coated, etc.

I have never seen a coramid rep strap... would be all over it... the silix velcro strap is lovely though. i have a don carbon and i echo veni's concerns, it's a little stiff and the stitching irritates on the wrist side...

impressive... i've half-considered one of these silix vintages as the base of a project...

Everyone: Have been pursuing some other options. Haven't heard back from the original company yet... (archibald you have a PM) Would people be willing to purchase a very-close-to-the-same dimensions as the current crystal (somewhat different though, not necessarily 1:1 with the current crystals) for less money? This option is available to me, and would be very easy to do... Let me know.
