  1. Joshua and Andy now got the AMG with the kevlar sport band

Even though the rep look pretty good  , there are some differences. :wounded1:

    Face to Face comparison:

    post-106-1165990393_thumb.jpg

    Differences founded so far (13/Dec/2006):

    - Dial Numbers: Thinner on the the genuine

    - Dial Inner Circle: Deeper an the genuine

    - Red second's hand: Longer on the nenuine

    - Date window: Square edge numbers vs round numbers ??? (not sure about this).

    - Case: Titanium on the gen (sort of grey look) vs SS in rep (silver look)

    - Crown: I believe this is OK

    - Back: not compared yet.

    Other potential faults:

    - Waffle dial: There no AMG with waffle dial (waffle dial only on std IWC Ingenieur)

    - White dial: No AMG on white dial. White dial is only on std Ingenieur and also mid size only.

    - The AMG model is only produced as of pic shown below and in black only. Can come with rubber band or SS/titanim band dial

Some more pics and specs / tech data of the genuine IWC Ingenieur AMG

    post-106-1165991036_thumb.jpg post-106-1165991067_thumb.jpg

Technical data of the Genuine (taken from IWC site)

    - Inner case: Soft iron for protection against magnetic fields

    - Glass: sapphire, antireflective

    - Crown: screwed

    - Water-resistant: 12 bar (120 m)

    - Case diameter: 42.5 mm

    - Case height: 14.5 mm

    - Weight: Ingenieur Automatic in titanium with titanium bracelet: 154 g

Ingenieur Automatic in titanium with soft strap: 109 g

    - Automatic Pellaton winding system

    - Power reserve of 44 hours when fully wound

    - Date display with crown-activated rapid calendar advance

    - Hour and minute hands

    - Central seconds hand with stop function

    - Screw-in crown

    - Soft-iron inner case for protection against magnetic fields of up to 80,000 A/m

    - Integrated shock-absorbing system

    - Sapphire glass antireflective on both sides

    - Water-resistant to 120 m

    - Screw-in back

"Technically identical with the standard Ingenieur Automatic, the Ingenieur Automatic AMG contains the same high-performance precision movement, designed to run indefatigably in everyday and extreme situations: manufactured, assembled and perfectly adjusted by engineers. Nevertheless, there are a number of points where the Ingenieur Automatic AMG differs from its sister model. The case is made of titanium, which makes it extremely light, comfortable to wear, exceedingly robust and very skin-friendly. At the same time, the choice of material is an acknowledgement of the austerity and discretion of the design. Titanium is therefore reserved exclusively for the Ingenieur AMG edition watches. But the dial, too, is unmistakably AMG: the design – reminiscent of an instrument panel – and the discerning use of bright red elements create an unmistakable yet eminently discreet connection to the sports car. An engraving on the back cover testifies to the partnership between Mercedes-AMG and IWC."

Note: If any mistake found on the above comparison or an addition to it is required , pls let me know and I will amend the post.

  2. Bad moment David.. very similar to that ugly Hublot AK000 has posted :nono::smurf:

:Jumpy: .... Ahhhhhhhhhhh , you just took it from my mouth.

I was ready to say the same thing. B)

The similaritites with the "HubLost :whistling: " Subaquaneus are amazing.

... and since I like the Subaquaneus , ... like this one too.

  3. "What drama ?" :brow: ?? ....if you only knew... which I think you do :whistling:

Yes,.. the plan was ..1. All Occasion 2. Dress 3. Sports 4. To be decided...

I know you are joking about the vote,.. but for those that take everything they read

literally,...We don't get a vote on that.... that's something I have to negotiate with Jay...

@ Richard: You got a PM

  4. :g: ........ so let's see....

Just got a RX EXP II from PT

Must get this IWC ING chrono

Must get the PO 6th or 7th version

    Must get the BRT Steelfish

    Must get the AP ROO

    Must get the Choppard MM

    Must get the Hublot BB

Must get the JAY/Richard watch (... I hope is the Ebel)

..... does anybody knows a bank that offers a low interest long term credit ????

No more watches pls for at least 5 mnths :Jumpy:

BTW: @Richard , can you gives us a small hint for the new surprise that EL is going to bring :whistling:

  5. Wonderful T. :thumbsupsmileyanim: Thanks !!!

    Also to AMK000 :D

Okay.. two changes which I think will make some smile...

    1. You can submit 44mm watches, If they conform to the Sports - Dress - All Occasion rule.

Which means that the most important factors are case thickness and curvature.

    2. If you contribute to the board, but are not a paid member,... you can still qualify ! ^_^

There are more ways to give back....

    a. Hold a Auction for one of your old watches, and donate the funds to the community !

    b. If you have posted informative content.

    c. If you find creative ways to assist the board in some manner...

    Have fun....and good luck ! ;)

Great. Many thanks. I think you've made the right choise.

Lets hope that members here will not abuse (... with even more panerais) this extra flexibilty.

And also great idea about the contribution. Now there is no excuse.

  6. @RT:

I understand that the whole initiative from you (which is great) is not an easy thing neither to manage , nor to follow up. Too many members to listen, too many opinions to deal with , so many different tastes etc...

Though here some comments regarding the new setup that may help the situation.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    - We need a subforum to include these polls. If not , in a day or two some of these individual polls will go down to the 3rd page and they will get lost and forgotten. Grouping them together under one subforum will help a lot.

    - Allowing only RWG supporters to submit a poll , I think is a "fair" idea (what the heck ... paying money should give us some sort of a previliege, right ?).

On the other hand, I also think that even allowing the submissin of a poll from an RWG supporter only, you may also let other members (non RWG supporters) to create a simple topic (not a poll) with their opinion/option.

If they manage to convince/sell the idea to a RWG supporter that their choice or recomendation is a good one , then maybe a "RWG supporter could create a poll" with this option.

These way we will broad our options of watches.

    - Regarding the limitations on the watch movement , size, not replicated before etc..

I perfectly understand that Jay does not want "exotic" watches or "already replicated ones" cause these optionss will limit down the number of potential buyers and therfore will make the whole project financialy not viable. So far so good.

On the other hand the above restrictions do really limit a lot our choises.

We are running the risk to end up with some watches that they fulfill all the above criteria and restrictions but they will not be really attarctive to many potential buyers and then the whole project will faill due to the luck of numbers and desirebility of the watch.

So therefore I am asking you (and Jay too) to at least reconsider the case size of the watch. Open this up to 44-44.5 mm. This will allow us to include some very attractive watches like the Ebel Chrono, Cycline, Oris Diver, etc.. which right now are out due to case size.

Thanks listening and considering the above recomendations ..... and if not, ....still is ok :) .

I understand that you got to put the a limit somewhere and not anybody can be satisfied.

    Cheers,

    AMK000

  7. It seems that the GP seahawk is winning the battle.

Well I am happy with it since my 3 favorites were the GP seahawk, Ebel and Breguet.

    @Richard Tracy

Rich , some questions (... dont know, ....may a bit to early to answer these) which I feel that are important:

    - Will Jay have to approve the winner piece ??

    - If yes and the winner is rejected by Jay , then what , new poll or second winner ??

    - Will we see a protype of the the final piece to be replicated before we place any order ???

    - How long (aprox no of weeks or months) before the final product is released ??

Most propably you have not the answers to these questions but if others also feel that these are important questions, maybe you can ask Jay.

    Thanks

    AMK000

  8. I will also agree.

The "light AR" is mainly and frankly speaking pure crap.

A watch with no AR is like a watch with a mirror on the crystal. You can comb your hair but you can't see the time. It really "kills" the watch.

The worst effect of it (lack of AR) you get it on black and blue dial watches.

Is a bit less annoying on white dials and much better with acrylic crystals (mainly vintage watches).
