  1. Ok, I don't know of any movements available to us that will do single-button chronos. There is no reset button, folks. I believe it's a three-press system and that's unreppable with what we have.

I think is thge seconds counter (chrono) feature that creates the problem.

The "seconds hand" can move both as a std second hand function and as a chrono.

Can we simply ignore (forget) that 2nd feature (second counter)???

  2. Here are my comments Richard:

Since the whole thing is your baby (your initiative) and you will do all the coordination effort afterwards .... I believe that you have all the rights to consider which comments/points I am making below you think apropriate: ;)

    Regarding the EBEL:

Not because was my submission (honestly has nothing to do with it) , I am really disappointed. -_-

I understand and appreciate the movement limitations but why we cannot check the price of a 7753 ??? Will be that high if we meet the numbers ???

I think EBEL is a unique watch to replicate it has shown a lot of popularity and we are missing a great opportunity by excluding it.

Any chances to double check with Jay on this ???

IWC Aquatimer (Std version and chrono):

Can we merge these two polls in to one, so to consider it as one watch ???

Both the chrono and non chrono versions are sharing identical case , back , inner rotating bezel and bracellet/band. Ok the dial and movement are diferrent but all the rest are all the same.

Cannot Jay consider one as the evoluituion of the other ??

That way we give the posibility to another watch to be replicated which now has been left outside.

BTW and for info purposes only: what we see in these two IWC polls are 4 different models:

    - IWC Aqua Auto (white inner)

    - IWC Aqua Auto 2000 (yellow inner)

    - IWC Aqua Chrono Auto (white inner)

    - IWC Aqua Split Min Chrono (yellow inner)

...... both models of each pair are practically identical (... hmmm, can't tell if they also share the same back case with each other)

    Tag aquaracer Chrono

Nothing against it (I personally like it) but if we want to be purists and stick to the rules, this one does not fulfill two of them:

    - can be found at 1,800 to 2,000 USD price range (rule of the min 3,000 USD)

    - It has already been replicated (bad replicas 21J and quartz ...but do exist) .... see link below:

    http://www.trustytime.com/index.php?main_p...products_id=322

Jay's Top price range for the genuine:

I thought it had raised to 15,000 USD to include more expensive models. Not true ???

    Thanks for listening

  3. I just looked at the IWC Aquatimer Chronograph Cousteau Divers in PureTime's Coming soon section. I'm psyched this rep is coming out since I really, really like that model and was kind of scoping gen "non Cousteau" model. I really hope there will be a swiss movt (7750) version of this model. I attached a shot from PureTime's post as well as a picture of a gen as a head-to-head comparison.

How many of you would be interested in a Swiss movt version of it? Maybe we can request it, group buy or something?

    thanks,

    :-)

Are you prepared for a "deep blue" dial and "deep blue" rubber band ???

That's the only genuine combo that really exists.

I also thing the std Aqua Chrono is better.

  4. It would be the best of all RT poll watches.

I did not vote for anyone there, but I would vote for it.

I also thing is a very nice all day watch.

I dont know why they haven't replicated yet.

Maybe it has to do with the back. I think there are a lot of movements which can accomodate the front ...but they will not match the back !!! ??

  5. @Pug:

Maybe I dont understand to comment correctly ... but if you are saying that no replicas has been produced as of today with lemanina (venus) movement .... well I think that this is no true.

Basicaly every single rep with manual winding, is hosting a (copy) of a lemanina movement. There 1000s of them.

None of them of course has a date window.

Again ... if this is not what you were saying , apologies ....... and pls explain cause I dont understand.

    Cheers,

    AMK000

PD: Thinking again, maybe this topic is more appropriate in to the Panerai subsection. Will any moderator/admin be so kind to move it there ?? Thanks.

This a classy all day watch. Both dress and casual. 42 mm (attractive all kind of wrists - big and small)

Initially I was thinking to add a poll for this (Richard Tracy'sd initiative with Jay) .... following the perfect sub example ;) ..... but then I thought .... too many Panerais .... and the price to get a genuine of this .... if can be found second hand.... is well above 20 K USD (.... possible to replicate from pics ??? )

Wasn't sure about the movement either.

To my knowledge this model ha not been replicated so far.

So the question is why ??? Movement problems ??? Lemanina with no date (sort of blind horse) ??

Easy to replicate in the front with other movements but hard to imitate the back ???

Can somebody answer the movement thing with authority ???

I dont like much watches with no date.... and all the Radiomirs we have seen so far ...are dateless.

But if they ever make this ... I will be all over it.

Since we have connections with factories now ... could somebody convince a factory to make it may be ;)

...... just sharing my taste and thoughts with you guys.

    Cheers,

    AMK000

  7. @ phoband and Ubi:

Lovely kids. At that age they are really great. Kisses and hugs .... and daddy we love you.

When they grow at the age of 15 they ....want to wear a Quicksilver jacket :black_eye: ... and they suck you wallet like baby milk.

    ..... be prepared.

But you can only do one thing. Love them dearly.

  8. The ExpII looks tempting... it's almost spot on. But then there are those ridiculous grey hour marker rings on the white version. I mean... how can you screw up something like that and don't do it on purpose? There are probably 2 thousand reference pics of the ExpII on the Google alone. And those thin bezel numerals...

Ask Angus to send you pics regarding RX EXP II white. I just got one from him.

The rings around the dots are 95% - 99% black and the date font is correct (not bold).

Andy's is 70% black rings (dark grey) and correct date font

EL's is (looks) like 100% black rings but can only supply with wrong date font.

  9. Well , .... don't know what others say and where they base their opinions ...... but the almost 5 years of my buying reps experience taught me that all flaws are made in purpose.

This is "best" way to avoid having big brands go after them without a rest.

The CHN rep makers have the total and absolute technical capacity to replicate any watch with a 100% accuracy. If they don't do it is strictly related to two reasons:

    - Cost

    - Law provocation :black_eye:

It is true that 5 years ago they were copying watches from pics but this has change drastically.

Now they buy the original thing so they can clone any detail of it.

This industry moves a huge amount of money (...... Paul - Abay .... used to say that the watch rep industry is very much compared to the drug business).

See what jay said about our rep watch polls ??? 15.000 USD is the limit.

To me every single fault is done in purpose.

..... old foxes can confirmed that. B)
