  1. "he didn't misrepresent anything, but, from the other feedback he had, I'd certainly say it was witholding known information. Not lying, per se, but definitley behaving in a less than honest fashion..." well lying by ommission is still lying, no? that IS desreving of a neutral feedback dont you think? Cause there ARE sellers who are 100% honest who therefore deserve positive
  2. im PRETTY SURE ETA can be pronounced any of three ways: ETA Et-tah Ee-tah what about goo-losh-chay dials ; ) AND Val-ya-ou 7750
  3. a defective product is one thing. but when there's other feedback about the same item having problems and you the seller refuse to do anything about , be it changing the listing descript or even refusing to stop carrying the item all together youre then aware what youre selling is not what youre claiming it to be. even contacting the person to tell them hey this product has problems (which they already know) just to pay to ship it back is unacceptable, and neutral is more than fair. what may be going on is the seller is unloading their inventory of crap hoping a few people wont notice or are too lazy to return it.
  4. im afraid i cant help you, as i'm learning all this for the first time myself. im entertaining the idea of just manipulating the leather, stretching it out a bit at the end with pliers. 1mm on each side. leather is skin so it should stretch and 1mm isnt that far...think that could work? i measured the same band which is offered in brown AND is 20mm and the only difference is the end on the black 18mm is 1mm short on each side where the link pin is seated. so hopefully some stretching might work, what do you think?
  5. now see, i dont feel that warrants a posistive feedback if the product is not as advertised. neutral is EVEN being lenient. dont retract your original feedback of the item, i dont feel thats fair to other buyers that might make the same mistake if the seller hasnt learned to truthfully disclose the shortcomigns of the product or even stop selling it altogether.
  6. neutral is just that. neutral. i think the feedback process stands for the transaction as a whole. communication (service) quality of product offered by dealer, including if it was misrepresented, etc. i dont think you would have bought this product knowing it wouldnt support your interface (of course you wouldnt have) there is a communication breakdown and somewhere along the line you thought the product did in fact do what you wanted it to. delivery (service) and price (which you know ahead of time so thats not really applicable here) if he gave this dealer a positive feedback what would you give one who stated that this product DOES NOT work fully with TeeJays "Cect P168+" product in particular (if you could of course just rate without buying, so i guess in your head) i guess ratings are a little subjective on ebay and people gauge ratings against different things. its good if a seller is willing to accept an item for return, but you shouldnt have to be in that posistion in the first place. and one truly deserving of a posistive feedback will never have you in a posistion where you'll be out $ with shipping it back.. so i think neutral was a fair assesment of your experience as a whole. positive to me = completely satisfied stand behind your product and fully test it, if this is your business know your product, otherwise you will run into problems like this. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- But the REAL crook here is eBaY: insertion fee, gallery listing fee, closing fee, and if you accept paypal.. 3% for processing, currency conversion rip offs, and probably a wire transer fee or withdrawl fee. i dont remember. i havnt been a seller on ebay for a long time due to paying $20 worth of fees on basic listings worth $80. ebay sucks for sellers, not to mention buyers having all the power when it comes to disputes on paypal. Their feedback system is also flawed since people can return a negative one out of spite for telling the truth about your experience.
  7. its funny how little things can set women off. sometimes its best to go 30minutes out of your way over something small and stupid than spend hours trying to apease her afterwards : )
  8. these spacers you speak of, what do they look like qnd where can you get some? this is the strap in question that i wanted
  9. even the pearl doesnt look that bad. one thing that kills me on the noob is the date mag tho its just undersize by a lil bit, but i notice it right away always. im pretty sure ill be picking up an ETA sub from eurotimez in the near future. good to know he stocks genuine new ETAs. i feel eurotimez takes pride in providing excellent QC and thats what sets him apart and why im willing to pay a little more for that quality. does Chris do any servicing like greasing the gaskets before sending it out?
  10. well i dont agree with that. have you ever seen an ad for a ferrari or a lambo? its word of mouth. recall the first time you ever heard of ferrari, was it in some ad or some marketing campaign? probably not... come to think of it i never heard of panerai, hublot, and AP until i came here... and even then the LV might cost rolex $20 more to make so $520 total...hell of a profit margin
  11. fake watches and fake drugs are VERY different. ONLY thing they have in common is they are not authorized for production. fake fashion goods exist to replace the high cost of a product that has no reason for being overpriced in the first place except greed, (our reps with ETAs are examples of that, same with leather LV bags, can a genuine do anything more than a rep?)on the other side; fake drugs exist OUT OF greed, a counterfeiter seeing an easy way to make money of a huge industry with no regard for peoples safety. my opinion is the first example of the watch is not immoral, but feeding into consumerism and then exploiting sure is, the second example with prescriptions drug that could harm someone is defntly a problem, and any idiot can see the difference. as for child labour and low wages; it would exist regardless of the product being made (even genuine items use cheap labour, where do think 90% of everythig is produced and why). stick me in a country where id have no education and id beg you to pay me 10cents a day, not to mention 10cents would probably stretch the whole day in a country where cost of living is 5$ a week. at least now the kid can eat. the problem is with the government not taking care of its citizens, china has a lot to offer, but take away someones job and youll have a lot more problems than if they made next to nothing. FYI: i once read a parts breakdown on a year 2000 or later rolex submariner and it was established it cost rolex around $500 to produce a fully functioning prim and polished model. i mean there is no real justification for why an LV would cost $1,500 more other than exclusivity. maxi dial blah blah blah.
  12. one thing that is glaring is the bezel insert. cheap easy mod that goes a long way
  13. im sure you wouldnt have a hard time selling them : )
  14. theres this strap i absolutely love. its leather, with white stitch down the sides and halfway down the middle and and the whole thing is textured. its rally inspired and only costs $18. but heres the problem...its only available in 18mm fittings. my paul newman chrono is 20mm... any one have any ideas or cheats to make it fit and look nice...anything? anybody?
  15. i am also curious as to who you ordered from
  16. i believe watchmark/timesshop dropship and dont deny that fact. plus timeshops photos arent consistent, they show a noob case number but the dial shot is of a josh classic...i wouldnt trust that. youll never know what youre gonna get...eurotimez watches are photographed with individual hang tag numbers
  17. my seagull 21j is still running 1 year later. i think its a miyota copy. hand winding is a bit stiff and sounds almost like grating. so avoid that. but even after hand winding regularly it still beats on to this day. its not the most accurate time keeper but with a timming machine im sure it could be decent. i think timex autos use seagull movments...theyre not too popular here since i cant seem to find one. i think it may be because theyre not reliable in terms of time keeping and thats no good for something whos purpose is time keeping : ) i guess its good in a pinch, and probably wont break with even minor abuse over a year.
  18. well i kn ow 100% eurotimez DOESNT drop ship : ) his prices are a smidge higher but assures quality through hand picking and supposedly tweaks for water resistance. if what you want is what you see, and youll actually get it then go through him. but an ETA sub will cost $60 more. i dont know his customs policy tho
  19. narikka, ttk(dont think he's around here anymore tho), josh, andrew im pretty sure dont. river, eddie. these seem to be the most trusted in terms of QC and making things right in the event of a screw up.
  20. i own two Alphas, one has a 21j seagull movement with day date 24hour time; modeled after the speedmaster moon. very solid feeling watch, thick domed crystal, the most comfrotable SS band ive ever worn, nice heavy weight behind it. only drawback: the movement needs to go, its erratic looking sweep and looks very cheap with plastic spacer and all and of course it isnt very accurate (at least not out of the box) ...but then again it was only $60 shipped and i think the band is worth at least half that the other is a homage to the paul newman rolex cosmo. its the same movement in the hand wound 30min chronos frmo the dealers (venus copy 17jewel faux blue screws). 6 oclock needle is 24hour time. you can get the chrono off ebay for $100. thin dome plexi crystal, bad QC dial -markers are a bit off and crooked, lume is barely decent UNDER a UV light...in other words bring a flashlight, chrono resets not perfectly to 0 or 60. movement feels solid tho when winding and the bracelet is more than decent on it. and it looks nice on the wrist. probably wouldnt buy it again tho. for the price id say the movement is a winner and is extremely decent in any chronograph, should bring me years of use unlike the asian 7750. i posted some pix of both watches, including some movt pics on the watchuseek forums; search and you shall find easily : )
  21. SHUDDER. ALMOST 4K depth rating! i wouldnt be caught 10meters below the surface, many people wouldnt. the deepsea kind of looks like the old Tag Diver watch. i like the ceramic dial but thats about it. the rest is AND always WAS SPOON. even commercial COMEX divers dont go below 700meters. i think the 16610 and current sea dwellers will become highly sought after collectors pieces... all that deep-sea is missing is some diamond hour markers Like the Smurf-mariner tho subfrog : )
