  1. You are right, the new A7750 valjoux 28,600 is far better then the old one, by the long and amazing The Zigmeister review of the movement, and as said by many members. but it is reliable when in it's original sub-dial config (secs @ 9) what makes the movement a timebomb is the secs @ 6 gears conversion, the factories invented a "quick fix" to have the secs running @ 6 instead of 9 to mimic the new model daytonas, and this quick fix is proven to be unreliable. i heard even the "swiss valjoux 7750" versions with the added gears for secs @ 6 turning the movement into the same timebomb, even though its a swiss valjoux The Zigmeister have said something about jeweling the extra gears for better reliability if i am not mistaken..
  2. i dont know either, but hey- no papers might be a gen.. i dont know, the "no papers" alarm and almost zero feedback got me focusing
  3. just seen this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/TAG-HEUER-CARRERA-AUTO...tem290207573663 not a tag expert, is that a rep? or am i blind
  4. damn, if they would find a reliable solution for that secs @ 6 daytonas that would be really cool ! can't understand why didnt they tried to solve it long ago, right after problems started to pop up and boxes full of watch returns came in. oh well :] the only thing that can be nice on the faux secs @ 6 daytona, is that its reliable, but not looking too good of course, cause of the thick sub-dails, and the fact both big and small secs are running all the time together. anyway its nice for fun! and maybe i'll try to do something with the parts. still wondering if the better secs @ 6 dial would fit there, wish i knew .. db1
  5. thanks for the tip corgi yeah i am aware of the 7750 secs @ 6, this is sad, but hopefully in the near future the factories will work on that issue and let us have a reliable secs at 6 daytona rep :] @ rek: yeah i know it has some ugly a$$ sub-dials, i actually in a process of getting one of these, cheap, more for fun then daily wear. thought maybe use it for parts, do anyone think the modern, accurate secs @ 6 rep dial can fit there instead of the ugly one?
  6. CUTE PDF. the best freeware "virtual-pdf-printer" i have seen.. it installs as a printer, then you create your document in e.g. ms word... then you press "print" and choose CutePDF from the printers list.. then a save dialog pops up. identical copy of the word doc as pdf. hope i helped db1
  7. heh.. no i didnt thanks for the tip!
  8. i have heard some people liked the faux chrono rolex daytona with the 21j mvoement with the secs @ 6 running with the big second hand. also heard it is not commonly available? well. i have just spoken to a friend who know someone who has those for sale. i'll check that out..
  9. http://cgi.ebay.com/Automatic-Mens-Watch-w...p3286.c57.l1288 i hope no one stupied will pay more then $50 for this one.. db1
  10. Hi, i am sometime wasting some time thinking about stuff, this time i was looking at movements, and thought if a breitling faux chrono rep could be created with the sec @ 9 movements (like the cheap panerais with secs @9) i have seen a cheap movement such as the DG3809, with secs @ 9... could such movement could be shoved into a faux breitling chrono rep case? so secs will run @ 9 and the other 2 sub-dials frozen? not like it has much purpose, now that we have our 7750 reps secs @ 9 functional chronographs, but just for fun any information would be great, i am trying to learn new things thanks! db1
  11. couldnt find on google i wanted to know how gen lume looks like on the gen bentleys (45mm..48mm.. etc) couldnt find a photo of glowing in the dark lume of a gen bentley. does anyone has anything like this? doesnt seem to exist on google ..
  12. hi, just checked a few posts including this one @ http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showto...amp;hl=guide+to which is great, showing a full process of A7750 removal, and fitting a movement back in place. but there is one part that were not pictured and/or described in depth, the crown removal process, i know without removing the crown there is no way the movement can come out.. so i understood for getting it out of the movement, there is some sort of "press" spot that when pushing it gently allowing me to pull out the crown? and eventually be able to get the movement out? but when reinstalling the movement, how do i put the crown back in ? just snap it in gently? or there is another process to be made? i know i sound like a noob, but thats what i am lol.. any tips would be great thanks! db1
  13. Hi, i have been at my local watchsmith place two days ago, i came for replacing battery for my dad's Certina.. anyway, i had been talking to him about mechanical watches, and asked him if he do servicing and\or oiling of movements. he said "sure", so i asked him what movement oiling includs? he said, that he open the case back, clean dust and dirt from movement parts, and oiling a few important spots of the movement. and he said thats enough as long as the movement were running smooth and just came in for a basic maintanancing job. wanted to ask, does basic oiling and cleaning of movement is enough for a smooth working movement? as much as i'm aware, only FULL servicing, including full disassembling & oiling of a movement can give me any achievement in form of performance and loyality of the movement. any help will be appreciated thanks!
  14. Hey, i was looking up youtube for some movement videos, this is what i have found so far, thought i would share it with you. (this one here is a valjoux?) (cool..) (a lange & sohne movement?) (this is cool one damn cool movement video!!) (watch history) (ETA movement - amazing) (iwc video) (3d cad watch making) (omega speedmaster pro manual movement here -blurry though) well there are many more here, i'll stop here for now, until i'll find better, more unique items. hope you will enjoy them db1
  15. hey, there you go, another one on the bay: http://cgi.ebay.com/BREITLING-CHRONO-MATIC...7QQcmdZViewItem
  16. looks like one of the vintage chronomatic models aint it ? just my thought, seen very few of this one on ebay in the past few months..
  17. hi, i was wondering if its possible to water proof a Bentley GT rep, i heard from one of the members here that it doesnt come anyhow waterproofed from the factory. i am not dreaming of making it "diving proof", but making the watch water resistent would be nice (stuff like washing hands with the watch and etc..) i know i can have a local watchsmith add a gasket where the case back is, with added sealing grease and seal the back to water for some depth (10-30 meters) but what about the chrono pushers? and the crown? those these can also have gaskets added to them? and how? what process should it take. yeah i know, havent got my GT yet, but anyway i make plans in advance in order to know what are my options. any help will be great ! thanks
  18. ive heard the the EVO are one of the most precise reps of the breitling chronos, with very little flaw. about the bezel rehaut: yeah i have seen some gens on ebay (rare to see "real" gens that are not knockoffs sold as gens on the bay lol) and on the gen its much thinner then on the rep, but still the rep is great! i believe it only lacks good double AR to be one of the best breitling reps, that also made me wonder why does the factories dont figure this out and do AR to this watch, like the great double AR on the EVOs.
  19. thanks i have checked the links is this a 35j movement? damn.. what about the movement performance and durability, local dealers where i live sell these panerai with this movement pretty cheap, this is weird, since most sh!t reps here are sold for big money (people dont know what they are buying) any extra info will be much appreciated.
  20. hi, i am wondering what movement this one has, looks a little higher quality from the "cheap" non-swiss movements is that also a 17jewels "el-cheapo" movement? or is that a 21j asian copy here's the photo thanks
  21. damn! thanks man! great list of information i checked some stuff about c#stoms here.. thats the [censored], pretty risky, hate them! could i get a GT sapphire from one of the dealers ? it could be easier to send that to AR run, and then let a watchsmith press it in place of the original sapphire. this way passing the risk of c#stoms.
  22. here's another "gem" http://cgi.ebay.com/BREITLING-for-BENTLEY-...1QQcmdZViewItem isnt that a really really bad, chinese "plastic movement" rep? or maybe im wrong, and breitling had made a "dummy chrono" version of their bentley series? rofl.. i mean, ok, you wann sell a rep as gen, cool! get a REALLY nice, REALLY accurate replica, and put it on ebay as a gen and just wait for a victim. but hey, some stupied brave hearts put some really bad reps as gens, and some really poor innocent bidders put $600+ on them! this is funny, i mean, i am not a breitling expert by all means, and i can spot these cheap, very very cheap, lowest quality reps db1
  23. hey, thanks for your tips! sounds great, i believe black fonts will be much closer to gen though, the question is what about font shapes? will the ETA fonts will be as per gen? yeah sounds good, if you can have the crystal double ARed, having a close to perfect date and day wheels.. i believe it would be as accurate as it can be to a gen i hope to see your photos when completed i have heared the most visible flaw with the GT is the lack of AR.. BTW: i ended up ordering a GT from a local dealer here in israel, i will pay an extra $100 but oh well.. at least i can get the headache of customs out of my head, he will take care of that.. i already thought, after recieving my GT and all ok, sending it for double AR job at one of the good AR people on rwg.. i have seen 2 members doing AR work and photos are looking great! my concern though, is being afraid of receiving a faulty watch after the AR job, i mean., they need to remove the movement and etc.. and put it all back perfectly, keeping everything clean and crisp, would they be able to recieve my watch and do the whole job? including removing the crystal from the watch, removing shitty "light" AR off the crystal.. and putting it %100 perfect in place after AR job is completed ? i would like to know as much as possible, and even though i read alot on this here.. i would like to get more tips from anybody who have had experience with AR jobs on his watch thank db
  24. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=130194024896 no way this one is a gen, "no paper works"...hmmm? nice rep, but why so pricey?? beware
