  1. For $37k I'd just hire some guy to follow me around and open my doors.
  2. It's an internal bezel and it's rotated via the crown at 3 o'clock.
  3. Guys guys... you should know no self respecting freemason would ever wear a watch. They wear sundials and tell time by the stars.
  4. Awsome! That PVD'd movement just puts it over the top. Thanks for sharing.
  5. I was about to say... no way you guys put together a trip??? LOL Good one Stan.
  6. Breitling Super Avenger 48.5mm (bling), Corum Admiral's Cup 48mm, U-boat 50mm +.
  7. Thanks The Zigmeister. Well, that puts one of my projects to rest.
  8. First, I'm glad you just had a "scare" and not something serious Robbie. Where would my money go if it were not for the awsome pictures you and many others on this forum put up to tempt me daily... sometimes hourly. Next, I've had the pleasure of exchanging a few quick PM's with Laz and he's a stand up guy. There are many other members on this forum that I'd love to throw down a few with. It really is great to know that we can come together from all over the world, from all walks of life because of this hobby of ours.
  9. Like Shundi, I didn't have the pleasure of meeting JTB, but welcome back!
  10. Happy birthday Jennifer!
  11. Well if the rep factories can mess up a simple rep like a Panerai, they can give this the good 'ol college try.
  12. Damn it!!! Why do I keep opening your posts Lani???!!! Now I have another one to add to the list. Great pics and another great post Lani.
  13. You probably just need to shorten the stem a bit to get the CG to close. Good luck.
  14. Wow, those are some nice pictures. Some of them are picturesque. Thanks for sharing.
  15. I may be mistaken, but in the US isn't there some consumer rights law that state that a retailer must sell an item for the price that's visibly stated? Or something to that effect? If you're in the US you might want to send a complaint to BBB or some consumer affairs organization about this particular AD. It seems they just pulled an old "bait n switch" on you.
  16. Robbie, Glad I could be of service my friend. No matter what direction you choose to pursue in the future I hope you'll continue to grace us with your presence here as your contributions and awsome pictures will be sorely be missed if you chose to leave. z
  17. Lani yet another great review! Thanks for taking time do it. On another note, I have to stop looking at your reviews. You make a tempting proposition. I think I'm gonna have to order up on this one. I've handled, quite thoroughly, the gen and this one seems very good. Thanks again.
  18. Robbie, I "think" I totally get you. I mean most people like watches or horology because of the precision of these small mechanical devices. Most of the time I find myself just gazing at a time piece and I think I do this because I know what it takes to make all this happen. Well some what. In either case, that is why I find myself so torn in the rep world. What draws me to these amazing machines is the precision that it takes to create these time pieces, yet the prices that they demand is off putting at the least. So the rep world is a welcome alternative, but I realize that I'm forced to compromise the very thing that lures me to this hobby. So the dilema with regards to this hobby is two folds. Do I pay the outrageously high prices and enjoy the fact that these pieces are perfect? Or do I save my money and accept the fact that reps will never be perfect? My solution has been, up to this point, is to balance reps with gens. My collection is a creative balance between gens and reps. Mind you it's a precarious dance of balance, but it works and serves it's purpose. LOL The hunt?... the precarious dance of balance?... whatever you want to call it, call it, but just don't forget that it's only a hobby. Enjoy the dilema my friend.
  19. Hey tanya, Long time not talk my man. Hope you're having a great Holiday Season. I'm still very much enjoying the MM20 . I actually purchased mine new (still wrapped) from another member in CONUS. So I was fortunate enough to get mine in 4 business days. There are a few things that does bother me about this watch. Such as the 20mm bracelet, but overall I'm really getting attched to this one. I'm warming up to her quite nicely. I'm very much a large watch guy, but this one has definitely found a place on my wrist. I'll try to post some pics (wrist shots) ASAP. For those of you on the fence, I'd suggest you jump in with both feet as the quality on this piece is simply amazing. Feels much better than my old gen SD for sure!!!
  20. Great. Thanks for the quick reply Lani. I'll try to get some pics up of her ASAP.
  21. Ok, I just got mine. Sorry no pics yet. One question though. Mine doens't have a beveled date window and the markers glow blue but the hour and minute hands (not the second hand) glows green instead of blue. Does this mean that the seller misinformed me stating that this is the latest version of the DSSD? Any clarification would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. First impression. Other than the noticable skinny bezel font, the watch, overall, seems very good.
  22. Congrats! You seem to mastered it as those pics are great.
  23. I would second the advice on using the slowest speed. Using high speed with any poslishing compound can quickly lead to taking off material unintentionally. Good luck.
