  1. if you're happy to part with USD500, then there are plenty of options. DSN is a good place to start. It depends too on what you like, do you like complications e.g chronos or simple dials , etc. It's a difficult decision and there's bound to be compromises. hope you find what you're looking for
  2. Thanks for the update ! Perhaps a pic of that would be helpful to show the difference. I'm sure it will be of help to the people interested in this the 111.
  3. hi sonicpath, welcome to the forum. please define "inexpensive"? perhaps by putting a dollar value it can put things in perspective. depends on how picky you are. you find that the old adage "you pay for what you get" holds true, and typically the more you spend the better it gets...reps can range from $50 to $1000 or more. pick your range. cheers
  4. thanks drulee. Yeah think I'll go for it.I'll post pics once i get it.
  5. hi, Just stumble upon this and this could have been posted before here but nevertheless it's a good run down of the flaws/good points about the rep. full credits to "Heritage" who wrote this. http://www.orologiando.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=139688&sid=45d1eec7129c066770fff04b9c34c67b Cheers
  6. Hi, Just want to get some feedback on what you all think of pairing a double clasp strap (ones on the contemporary PAMs) to a historic PAM say a 111H? Or should one adopt a more purist stance to stick to PreV strap on a historic PAM? I'm thinking of doing that but a little undecided Cheers!
  7. yeah. but don't think it would be too hard to rep this one though except perhaps the case back.
  8. Hi Lani, Great idea! you can start by a fixed amount of rep dollars for every member. Run tipping competition for instance or bet pools with smallish amounts. winner gets the pool for instance.some one has to be the administrator though. not sure how to keep track of the cash flow though.
  9. Congrats Marty! Well done! I'm sure the wedding ring must have cost more than the watch?
  10. Most likely yes TWG (TrustyWatchGuy) - Andrew www.tt88time.com www.trustytime.com TW can also stand for Taiwan.
  11. I used to sell stuff on ebay too and have to be careful in the pictures that I used. If the pictures are not consistent it does not inspire confidence. I checked in the Panerai site and it looks to me that the swiss made sits below the 6 but I believe there may be different genuine versions out there that has it differently. Is there any PAM expert that can comment on this?
  12. see this link http://cgi.ebay.com/BRAND-NEW-PANERAI-LUMINOR-POWER-RESERVE-PAM-90-L-SERIES_W0QQitemZ150368763528QQcmdZViewItemQQptZWristwatches?hash=item2302ad3e88 The main picture on the ad has the "Swiss Made" sitting below the 6 but in the other pictures it looks like "Swiss" 6 "Made" where the swiss made words are left and right of the 6. Am I seeing things or is the poster using different pictures? So which is correct? Can someone comment on which is the accurate picture? Don't think sellers should use different pictures to start with or is it perhaps some optical illusion
  13. Thanks lanikai and offshore. My only reservations is not so much the customs but I wouldn't dare try removing the crystals from any of the watches given my clumsiness in general if anything i'll just end up breaking the crystals. i'm not adventurous in watch repairs as some of you. the most that I can do is adjust the length of the bracelets.
  14. hi rogerthat, which dealer did you get that from, was it the one from josh or andrew? i'm thinking of getting it too. is this the one with the faux PR? nice pics! cheers
  15. Hi , Does anyone know if there is anybody who can do AR service on reps here in Australia? I'm in Melbourne. If there is then it opens up more options for me to buy some reps that I would not buy simply because there is no AR or poor AR in them e.g some of the PAMs.
  16. hi wombat, are you able to point me to the link where I can buy this $5 MB pen? for $5 I won't mind buying even if it's crap.... cheers
  17. Yes I used the keyboard mostly too but a nice pen on one's desk is more for the eyes....and the occasional signing of documents .
  18. likewise why buy a luxury rep watch , why not get yourself a timex and stick to that? it's all a matter of taste. to each his own.
  19. Hi, Has anyone pulled the trigger on the Bartorelli ; link here : http://www.puretimewatch.com/index.php?productID=1318 Just curious on how accurate it is if you have it. I"m thinking of getting it but not sure of the accuracy. Are there big flaws or just minor ones? Please comment.
  20. true but you need to know who to ask. Not all dealers give you correct answers some just give you plain BS.... which is why i prefer asking you guys
  21. Thanks all for your great replies. From what I am hearing it seems that best bet to stay away from rep pens, as the overall quality of these reps are not up to scratch esp if it's a fountain pen.I'm not keen on the ball point pens as I used the cheapie ones everyday. Guess it'll have to be a gen Lamy or something along those lines.
  22. Thanks AMK. Did you buy it off PAM111? I am not aware of other dealers in this forum that sells pens besides pam111. Sorry to be specific in this case. I just want to stick to dealers in this forum unless you can recommend a good dealer for rep pens?
  23. Hi all, I'm thinking of buying a mont blanc fountain pen from PAM111.com, but not sure of the quality. Has anyone on this forum bought pens from PAM111 and could you give me an indication of how bad/good the pens are? Or put another way are the pens as good as the watches? Rgds Nick
  24. Best to send it back to the dealer unless it's been a while since you got it. I had very similar problems as yours and ended up sending it back.
  25. AllergDoc, Which dealer did u get the V3 DSD from? I'm thinking of getting one. How does this compare to the one from WM9? Nick
