  1. Is there any suggestions or clever way to adjust the mesh bracelets? I like it but have small wrists so what can I do
  2. Welcome mate.I'm from Melbourne too. With the Portuguese Chrono do some research. Some of the ones with the seconds at 6 can be problematic! YMMV. Cheers P M
  3. Thanks for the clarification. I'll take it then there is no difference in price in that case between the two of them, sort of another cartel. Perhaps the only difference is in their services.
  4. there's also this JLC: http://www.1-pc8838.com/jl10006-master-control-regulatuer-jours-nuit-white-manual-p-1081.html though not exactly a single-hand but a regulateur.
  5. how about posting some pics of your beauty?
  6. Welcome! You didn't mention a budget or how much tolerance you have for tells in a rep. In anything you pay for what you get. Budget and your feelings about how close the watch should be plays a key part in whether you buy from a dealer like joshua or going to some modder. The modder path is usually more expensive given that they take the watch to the next level e.g swapping in gen movements, ar, luming, etc. my take is if you are new to the game start with a moderately priced (e.g <$300) rep and go from there.a lot of the reps from dealers are already pretty damn good, so usually if you pick the well-repped reps you don't have to go the modding path. Cheers P M
  7. Hi, Not sure if these dealers are related and partners but it's bit weird that one dealer is using the other dealer's pics, see this http://www.iwatchstation.com/products_pictures/PAM250-02.jpg Both these dealers are approved dealers in the forum. P M
  8. I concur. His site does have some serious issues so can't browse it.
  9. Hi, Prob more relevant to my aussie mates but two days ago I discovered that my credit card details were used in fraudulent purchases. I believe that the card was compromised when I used it at one of the petrol station. The card details ended up being used by someone to purchase air tickets on the argentinian airlines. The way they do it is once they get your card details they will put through a small online purchase to test out the card. Days later the big purchase will kick in. I was lucky that the bank alerted me through SMS about the big purchase and I was put through to the Fraud division. Luckily I don't have to pay for those transactions. Few things to be aware of: - It's currently happening in Melbourne, if you're in this part of the world try not using your credit card in the petrol stations or convenience stores. - Check your credit card transactions regularly for any suspicious transactions. p m
  10. Not really if you do chance upon another person who has interest in watches. i was presenting my work to my client and suddenly he asked me "it that a rolex? So I said yes.i was wearing my DSSD. He then asked me if it's real. I said no it's a rep. I took it off my wrist and let him have a look. He wears a rolex air king, the gen one but his need repair as it skips. He was really quite interested and surprised at the quality of the watch, the weight and so on. went on to tell me his watch was from his dad so he keeps it for sentimental reasons, and that his dad owned a rolex that was quite a rare one which costs him back in those days 23K pounds. we had a chat about rolexes etc and i showed him too where the flaw is with the DSSD.kind of digress from what we were supposed to be doing. i never did really finish the presentation after that , he just told me he's happy with the work and it's all good.
  11. he'll be furious if he found out that his signature is on a rep http://www.kingshowbox.com/goods.php?id=4996
  12. err...maybe he does not know how to operate a GMT watch.
  13. hey canopy, good to have you on board. welcome to RWG, best forum for watch enthusiasts. I'm from melbourne. hint - for the daytona do some research of the seconds at 6 movement. p m
  14. Hi , My PAM with Asian 6497 has died on me and now is in need of some help. The watch is fully wound but the seconds hand refuse to tick. Can anyone recommend a repairer for me? I'd prefer anywhere in Oz as opposed to the other side of the world. I'm in Melbourne but no fussed sending to other oz cities. Cheers P m
  15. if she likes it go for it. the artificial diamonds do last. as the saying goes, "those who mind don't matter, those who matter don't mind".
  16. if you're worried that it will be spotted as a rep then forget it. but if it's a style that she likes and she's not hung up about telling others it's a rep then why not? having said that my wife does have a bulgari with diamonds ; the brilliance is still there after 2 years but then she doesn't wear it often.if it's daily wear then best to get just the plain ones.keep the bling for special occasions.
  17. +1 it's been on my wrist mostly since the day i got it, almost to the point i felt i was a bad parent neglecting the other "babies"....
  18. from your pics ,I think the minute hand and perhaps even the hour hand is a tad shorter than the gen. But fantastic review mate!
  19. "As most chronographs cannot be used when diving, this device means that the Avenger Seawolf Chrono is the only instrument of its kind that is totally water-resistant and functional to a record depth of 1,000 metres." don't think it's the only watch that has chrono functions when diving - see Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Compressor Diving Chronograph. albeit more $$$.
  20. i'd just wiped them clean after each time i wear time and they look shiny after that. i wouldn't risk showering with them cos mine's not been serviced/waterproofed as yet.
  21. my mistake , was looking at the super avenger which is 48 mm. thanks for pointing it out.
