  1. Hi, Before you flame me about buying from the trusted dealers on this board, I apologize. There is a watch bracelet that I am looking for, and this site has the item. So has anyone bought from this site before and any comments? Basically just want to know if it's a scam site. Cheers p_m
  2. my B&M which I've finally managed to find a replacement deployant clasp that was broken.
  3. my dssd has the same problem. just posted in separate post looking for repairer in singapore, maybe I should try looking for replacement clasp. mmmm......
  4. can someone help me, I have couple of watches needing some repair. please help. I'm only there until mid Jan.
  5. Fantastic review. Mods, can this be pinned in this forum?
  6. thanks for all your inputs. yeah i'll ask her abt the "pearl". may be an easy fix on her part.
  7. Hi, I'm not familiar at all with Sinn watches but like this one that Mary has put on her page: Can those of you experts in Sinn comment on the accuracy of this watch? Any obvious tells? Cheers pan man
  8. You might like to think twice about the magnetic fingers, pretty sure you can't possibly do anything with all the screws sticking to your fingers - cheers
  9. here's a quote which i got before from a modder but this is in regards to a PAM watch (asian 6497 movement): service $100 Dial & hands relume $100 , Cannon pin flaten/polish work $15 , Replace to Toro CG $90 (or $25 to fix your original CG) , Remove AR $25 Matte dial $15
  10. try the PAM 250. Think it's best to get a strap elsewhere. check out the Straps section, sometimes they are some really nice straps selling for good price.
  11. well since you got it cheap what does it matter ? but yeah take it to an AD. is there a back out clause if it's not gen? i for one wouldn't bid on ebay for watches unless i'm certain of its authenticity.
  12. ok so what watch did JL wear? anyone knows?
  13. quite tragic really. i watched the documentary on tv last night "The Day John Lennon Died". What a waste to an extremely talented man.
  14. just a suggestion, the limit for 3 characters perhaps should be removed. sometimes the 2 characters is useful ,eg. sinn u2 , gmt ii, dssd v5 and so on. where the 2 char may be the model number. just searching the base word may return a lot more than what i'm looking for.
  15. Thanks for your input for the PAM. It did cross my mind to get him a PAM but on second thoughts it might be a bit too big for his taste. The rollie is tad more subtle.
  16. Thanks you all! All fantastic suggestions. I've decided to go with TeeJay's and slickdick's recommendation of the Explorer 1 with a good leather strap. Now to find a good one.
  17. Thanks for all your advice guys. KB,the briefcase you suggested would be a rep too wouldn't it? Ok, I'm definitely going to tell him it's a rep not lying about it but I just think he will get a kick out of it given that he knows nothing about the rep game. So I'm still keen to hear some suggestions or perhaps there is amongst us folks who actually work/study/spend time in the unis that can comment?
  18. The T60 is a good bet though may be tad more expensive than the others with the same specs. I've been using Thinkpads for years now and can vouch for their reliability, current one that i'm using is the T410. The Thinkpads are not the fastest but chances are you'll have less issues with them.
  19. Hi, Need some help from folks here. I'd like to get a rep for a good friend who's a law professor in a UK uni. I think he's bit on the flamboyant side but not flashy, so no gold or bling. he's in his 40s. Any suggestion for a watch for daily wear to the uni? p m
  20. try offshore , he's on this forum. http://www.rwgforum.com/forum/237-watch-bitz/
  21. i think the chanel j12 in white works well for the ladies.
  22. Congrats !! Good luck! Wear one of your 99.9% franken.
  23. Welcome. How much are you willing to spend? How close to the gen do you want it to be? Most of the dealers in this forum will have some Hublot models but you need to provide more information.
