  1. How about adding in Francisco's decal on the movement bridge? Nice...
  2. Check out my review at http://www.repgeek.com/showthread.php?t=16270&highlight=compro The old school PAM48, 50 with " L Swiss L" under the numeral 6 on the dial are rare birds now. The latest PAM48, 50 from our dealers all have the "L Swiss Made L" which is incorrect for C series. " L Swiss Made L " dial are for K series onwards and comes with roller CG lever and quick release push button at the caseback lug. However, either version still have the slim DW font. Hope the info helps
  3. Destro PAM reps are rare. Beside little hero's PAM219, you may want to consider PAM239 or ... Build yourself one like this one PAM22
  4. I'm with you. New models lack the history of a Panerai and too commercialize. I prefer the Pre-Vs and A to C series.
  5. The lume were evenly applied. This job require super steady hands. The Zigmeister is the best IMO and highly recommended. The Zigmeister's aged lume glow is uniform but weak and so is the gen as the lume is probably 10 years old or more, the lume will not glow so brightly. If you are after a PAM036, you may also want The Zigmeister to convert the "L swiss L" into "T swiss T". For the display movement, swapped out the original matt gears and replaced with sunburst gears.
  6. Here's mine. Lumed by The Zigmeister with different lume colour tone on the dial and hands per gen.
  7. I think it's going to be a long shot. If I understand and remember correctly, there are 2 versions to his datewheel. The first version will have alignment issue (either the date number sit too high or low or leans more towards the left in the date window. The second batch is the improved version. I got mine through a trade but it came with the first version and the date number leans towards the left more. My watch smith told me that the datewheel is fixed and can't be adjusted or re-aligned. In the end, he solved my problem by filing off some areas on the left side of the date window to make the date look centered. Here's the result. * Not all watch smith is willing to do this as it may damage the dial. Anyway, I manage to talk through my watch smith after several rounds of trying. It is a great looking watch and feel ight and comfy to wear. I improved it further by popping in a factory double ARed crystal (got it from silix) and it looks good. Hope the info helps
  8. The only difference between PAM50 and 48 is that the latter goes with a leather strap while PAM50 goes with a SS bracelet. Some pics of my PAM48. - Old school PAM50 case and dial with lello's datewheel and cannon pin modding.
  9. Yup scotty. From another member but upgraded it with lello's DW and nice croc strap with whtie stitches.
  10. Most beautiful 40mm pam IMO Thanks for viewing
  11. Very nice Scotty. Long wait but guess it is worth it afterall.
  12. Here you go. SS INGY... I think this thread should be moved to IWC section so that more INGY fan can chime in IWC has stopped the production for the SS INGY and Ti INGY to make way for new INGY. So, these are really nice collectibles
  13. Still prefer the old school 63 (with lello's DW and chieftang's cyclop with AR of course )
  14. Ingy (Ti or SS) is my choice. Like the Ti Ingy especially. Looks sporty and classy, light weight and wear comfortable. HBB king is too bling and more like a vegas watch to me.
  15. Almost zero chance if you are looking for quality reps in HK. Places like nathan road and ladies market at Mongkok sell crappy reps. If you have the time, consider taking a train ride and cross the border into Shenzhen. There is a mall call LuoWu and it is located right outside the train station after you clear the custom. There are tons of crappy reps. But if you look around carefully, there are about 2 or 3 shops at level 2 and 3 selling quality reps. It is rather easy to spot these shops because they display quite openly. So keep your eyes open. However, price will be about the same (cheaper because there is no shipping charge) and maybe another less 20 to 30% depending on your bargaining skill. Choices are quite limited at times so it really depend on your luck. Anyway, no harm asking them if they have more to show as they normally store them in some secret places. If you are unable to spot these shops mean there is a recent crackdown by the police. There are many other things you can do in ShenZhen. Nice DimSum and very good and cheap massage. So, good luck for your rep hunting.
  16. I'm a fan of INGENIUER and I have them all for my collection. All modded with AR crystal and lello's DW for the non chrono. Guess I am lucky. Both chrono are still running well and keeping good time. My recommendation is to go for fully modded non chrono INGY. It is so bloody close to the gen. Good luck
  17. I think Mrbrown posted in the vip trade are at RG. beautiful piece.
  18. The L swiss 6 made L placement on the PAM050 dial suggest a K series model. It should have the roller ball at CG lever, Quick release button at the lugs and correct caseback (I think the pic of the caseback show a C series which is incorrect). Caseback on the PAM168 is correct this time. The previous version has stainless steel engraved on the caseback which was incorrect.
  19. Gen dial?? The tells are the larger sub dials and bolder sub dial indices. Another tell will be the numeral 8 which is place near to the running second subdial at nine. The placement of the numeral 8 on the rep dial is further away from the running second subdial at nine. Example of a 188 rep dial with 7753
  20. I have a modded PAM24A but little do I know about that it comes with a sandwiched crystal until Zigmeister pointed it out to me. Well. The crystal was fine at first until recently when a rainbow effect or smudge mark started appearing at the edge of the crystal and across the cyclop. It can't be seen when you look at the crystal directly but they show up at some angles. I did some research on my own and realised that the crystal on most PAM24 reps with A7750 actually comes with 2 piece. The upper layer crystal is the sapphire with slight rounded domed top while the lower layer is a piece of glass (mineral I guess). The upper layer sapphire is where the cyclop is installed and the lower layer will have a hole to let the cyclop sit in. The rainbow smudge mark is caused by the melting of the glue holding the sapphire and mineral glass together. If yours is currently ok. I will suggest that you avoid leaving the watch under sunlight or rush it with hot water as it this glue react with the applied temperature. Here's a pics to show the problem. Notice the smudge mark across the cyclop? Below are some solution I thought that it will work. 1. Source for a slight domed crystal with flat base and add a chieftang's cyclop Result - not possible as the there is no offering for a sapphire crystal for the required diameter and thickness. Even if it is possible to find one, the thickness of the crystal with the cyclop will obstruct the minute hand. 2. Remove the existing sandwiched crystal, open them up and applied UV clear glue. Result - not possible as the thickness of the glue need to be uniformly or evenly applied and not likely to be done by hands. Even if it can be done by super steady hands, dust particles will be attraced on the glue surface. Just as I was about to give up. I was lucky that I manage to find a low cost PAM24 rep with 21J movt. When my watchsmith remove the crystal. Below are what we discovered 1. The crystal is not sapphire but mineral glass (expected for the price) but hey it comes as a whole piece and not sandwiched 2. Cyclop is separately installed on this version but need to realign again. 3. the mineral glass diameter is larger than the sandwiched crystal. Mixture of good and bad news. Good news is it is very unlikely I will encounter the rainbow smudge problem anymore if the mineral glass can be used. Bad news is, the mineral glass cannot be fitted as its diameter is larger. Luckily, my watchsmith told me he is able to reduce the diameter of the mineral glass. It will not be possible if it is a sapphire as the material will be harder. However, there is some risk that the mineral glass will crack if it is unable to take the high temperature created from the buffing machine. Well. I am game so I ask him to proceed. The result? Problem solved and bye bye to rainbow smudge for good. My PAM24A is really modded to the max and bullet proof now. Hope this information is useful for all PAM24 sub owners.
