  1. It sounds like maybe you got a gen. The gen Valjoux are notorious for vibrating. Eddy
  2. I inquired about the new CG's that i saw on his new 115 and they will be available in brushed SS and PVD for his second gen cases in about 2 weeks. I know that the CG's on the 2nd gen watches have been sticking in my craw. Once I replace the CG's on my 201a and 195, they will be near perfection in my eyes. Once again thanx to David for responding to our anal retentive desires. Eddy
  3. The 201a from david sen is pretty close, even though the CG has some ssues with it, but I have some good news from David. He says that new CG's are in the works, and that they will be available in about 2 weeks. Eddy
  4. Buy another box. Sweet collection. In another year you will have 3x as many. Eddy
  5. I know you guys were expecting something else, but here is a Pam on my 3 year old daughter. She wanted me to get her a pink strap, so got an XS one from DON. What can I say its a rainny day here in the Big Apple. This is her attempt at watch photography. Better watch out Puggy and Neil. Eddy
  6. I agree with Ryyannon. Those vintage models with a Molnija movement if its display back with the varnished look yellow lume. Even though I know Jon isn't too keen on the distressed dial and hands, if i had my druthers, it would be distressed like the 6152 box set that River had for sale recently. Of course, I know it will never happen but the 60mm GPF 2/56. Its the one in the middle BTW. I'd buy a rep of this altjough it isn't a Panerai. Its an Enneb,i another Firenze watch maker. Eddy
  7. Tantalium on MP4 Eddy
  8. Very nice work Chris Ever thought of making some nice custom watch boxes?? Eddy
  9. Markus of Silvermagic is a very trusted seller of watches. I have bought 2 gens from him in the past. No issues with the transactions. Eddy
  10. I'd go for a rep of that definitely. I like the orange bezel chrono also. Eddy
  11. They come up once in awhile on the BWF. The King Cudas are 47mm. Massive divers. ETA 2834-2 movement. Interchangeable bezel inserts. They go for about $2000 USD. Eddy
  12. I think it looks like a PAV99 strap. Eddy
  13. I have both the Tantaliums and love the blue hands. I have tried on a gen 172 and they are sooo heavy. That is the biggest flaw of the rep.. the weight of the watch. I think that Precious Time has the 172's for sale with the new Swiss movt and definitely with the blue hands. Eddy
  14. What strap is it? Eddy
  15. I've done the baseball glove oil to get a patina and also done the natural way, and from my experience the natural patina looks much better. Eddy

  18. First of all I will qualify by saying that I first joined TRC in 2003, but have been in to reps for a least 10 years. Over the years on the forums, there has definitely been a change in the tone of the members. Whereas early in the infancy of both TRC and RWG, there was a sense of relief that we had found a safe haven amongst the wilderness of the rep world, and we were all very grateful to have a forum where we could exchange ideas and protect ourselves and others. Nowadays, there seems to have been a change in the attitudes in all the forums. There seems to be a definite sense of entitlement that seems to be inherent now. "I need.. no I deserve to have the bestest and perfectest rep, so I can fool everyone out there even myself! And I want this delivered to my door yesterday!! Or else!!" . Where did this come from? Maybe it is from all the hard work that was done before these relative newcomers(BTW I hate the term newbies) stumbled on to this hobby. They have entered a world where it is much easier to get very excellent replicas for a much wider variety of watches. Even though I cannot dissuade members from looking for the perfect rep out there, I have to unequivocally say there will never be a perfect rep, because in the end no matter how convincing to the outside world, you yourself will know it is a rep. A wise man once said a rep is a rep, even thougha very simple statement, in a nutshell if taken to heart you will enjoy this hobby of ours so much more and in the end isn't that what its all about. At least for me it is. Eddy
  19. Good for you! You took a chance and you got rewarded in spades. Great watch and even better price. Eddy
  20. Definitely worth it. You also get all the dials. I'd only want the watch though and sell off the depth and compass. I don't know if I could wear it though. Might just keep it in a vault and wear my WM. Eddy
  21. 201a TODAY Eddy
  22. There is one prominent neurosurgeon who I work with and he owns several tourbillions, from Breguet to Lange & Sohne. Also owns Pateks, UN's. They are all gens. He is from a very prominent family and he does all his operations for free, so money is not an issue for him. Most of the time I have seen really nice watches on wrists is when I am in Asia, especially Tokyo, Seoul , HK and Singapore. Eddy
  23. I just can't name one, but these have been seeing the most wrist time lately WM Custom Vintage 009 201a 222 Eddy
