You're right of course, but it still didn't make Le Whinge onside though did it? You ought to be gracious though and give CSKA some credit, they are a VERY good side, UEFA Cup winners and until Djib Cisse popped up almost beat us in the UEFA Super Cup Final that year - Carvalho again was their scorer I recall. I'm thrilled for the Bhoys - great result and a healthy dose of revenge on LFC's part - finally someone's exposed Benfica for what they really are (see my form guide on P1), and done them over. Excellent Elsewhere, amusing to see the media raving over the Scum's "demolition" of the mighty Kobenhavn two of the flukiest goals you'll ever see in your life, I bet they'll regret RVN's sale come January when it all dries up. And that awful post-match interview with the ginger bearded gnome (Rooney I mean not Glazer ) was unbearable to watch. Glad there's no Mancs on the board at least (no-one 'out' at least, maybe skulking in the shadows?) Tonight it's my beloved 'Pool vs. Bordeaux - no Vladi as he's injured but hopefully he'll make an emotional return to Anfield for the next match. My prediction? 2-0 to the mighty Reds! p.s. I'll also be cheering on Barca, of course

R, I think I at least deserve some inside info surely?

CLICK HERE AND TELL ME YOU DON'T FEEL LIKE EMAILING THE SELLER AND TELLING HIM WHAT A JOKER HE IS.... [censored], you'd think at least he could throw in an acrylic pearl for that price Sad thing is, I bet there's someone stupid and rich enough to pay this money when an identical generic can be had for 1/20th of the price.

Anyone From Sf/bay Area/us Feeling Helpful?

interesting I would have thought you'd have said Piaf considering your domicile. A magical place indeed, where I plan to grow old (and disreputable) and use my Aquarama as a runabout. -

Thank you Ry but such a tease, I wanna hear that V12 beast roar! Aaah, still it takes me back - suddenly no more a cold dark English winter's night, but a slightly misty early morning on Maggiore, the sun's first rays glinting off the Lago, and the cabinieri all tucked up asleep in their law-enforcing beds -

it's vintagasized enough Bob, just keep your Land Rover away from it However if you're serious I'll gladly take you up on your very kind offer thanks -
http://cgi.ebay.com/Riva-Aquarama-Replica-...tem#imageAnchor Would really like to get my mitts on this - seemingly impossible to source in this (smaller) size in the EU. If anyone here could help by acting as a middleman, I'd be eternally grateful (all costs paid of course). thanks Doc

Actually, just back very late last night (actually this morning) PM me for details

Shame on me, how could I ever forget the unforgettable Gelena Shitinerand
-
What you mean for that injury-time goal when he dribbled around (humiliated) the entire Celtic team? No more than I owe him for his Bosman defection to Madrid (costing us millions) and his coming out of the closet....as a true blue Evertonian. Easy now JTB, think you'll have enough on your plate trying to keep Digger Barnes in check (least the viewing public will be spared his commentary this time )
-
Where do you want to start? there's the (in)famous MBW 'Polex'... the equally heralded 'SeaNaster'... and let's not forget the wonder that is the 'UbiMariner Officially Super-ficial
-
McMananananananananananananamananamananmaanan, you mean? Luckily I've kept myself in shape, but I do fear for JTB, he's not getting any younger

Thanks from the pics I've seen of Rival it does look interesting if a little kitsch Not surprised Paris stayed there though, although not exactly a ringing endorsement of the family hotel chain now is it? I know Södermalm reasonably well (friends used to live there before moving to Northern suburbs), very down to earth which I like and the reason I thought it might be nicer to stay than in Normmalm. To be honest, the last thing I want to be surrounded by is a bunch of 'suits' if you know what I mean.

For our friends in the colonies, JTB and I will be taking part in this charity match, and here's a quick pic of both of us our recent GTG... I'm the handsome younger one on the right in red

I assumed it was some local Glasgee expression, obviously not! Maybe Kenny with his dry sense of humour just taking the urine out of commentators who spout such crap, Atkinson and Pleat spring to mind. Which reminds me... the Legends match between Celtic and Liverpool on 4 October. All the funds raised will be donated to the Celtic Charity Fund - various charities nominated by Jimmy Johnstone's family and the Marina Dalglish Appeal. Do you know if we are being shown live? If you can get it recorded, would love it!

Obviously the place to be, Stockholm, as I too am heading over again soon, stretching out a bit of business to include few days off, visiting old friends (and their new arrivals!) and just generally relaxing and walking round with my GF who's never been (not anywhere near the jewellery shops though ) @Chronus - will keep you posted mate @Fitmic - quick question for you - the Rival or the Nordic Light? Pretty much saying North or South I know. Business has always had me up at the Berns or Diplomat so would like a change. Have been to the NL before briefly (before heading across to the Ice Bar opposite, heh heh) but not sure, Normmalm is a bit too business-like even if its v convenient for the Arlanda Express. Thoughts/advice much appreciated.

touché mon ami! You must have been watching Chelsea play

Skilled at what exactly? Ohhhhh, you mean as in ear-biting, groin-kneeing and shirt-pulling As for 'your' team Barca, they're doing ok I guess, going through the motions. Have you thought anymore about my suggestion of actually watching (or reading) about them? Camp Nou is an amazing stadium, they have some of the best players in the world, plus their history (good and bad) and fierce Catalonian spirit (opposed to Franco's Real Madrid, a tale in itself) seems to be derived from the energy of the city of Barcelona itself. As they say in Catalan 'más que un club". Can't be an isolationist egg-chaser all your life Alan, welcome to the rest of the world

Unfortunately both those provisos are never going to happen. As a tactician, he has some major flaws and the holding and counter-attacking style that he holds dear does not allow for Plan B when the [censored] hits the fan. Trust me, I remember the despair well, none more so than Leverkusen in 2002. Don't get me wrong, I always keep an eye on Lyon, call it sentimentality if you like as I have an (deeply unfashionable, it must be said) fondness for Houllier. He was very far from perfect but brought back some of the good times to Anfield and let's not forget almost died for the club right there on the touchline Witnessing the night of his return against Roma still brings a lump to the throat. I also like the way that despite his sacking, he still remains a fan of the club and watches us whenever possible. I believe he was also invited into the Liverpool dressing room before the Champions League Final in 2005 - and in an age where the likes of Mourinho and Ferguson grab all the headlines, the honest, mutual respect and decency shown by that gesture by Rafa and acceptance by Houllier, reminds me what LFC stands for.

Absolutely JTB, let's save the solid ruthless performances for the KO rounds. I hear King Kenny has tipped Celtic to make it through Still no takers for my Valencia SF side-bet? I did warn you all, way way back....
-
Still when you look elsewhere around Europe last night.... Inter got dumped big-time in the San Siro against Bayern, and Barca were lucky to scrape a last-minute pardon for a draw against plucky minnows Bremen (Palp will be pleased ), so all in all, I'll take the 3-2 win thank you very much.

A touch of the AC Milans you mean JTB I have never ever in my life seen my beloved Reds go 3-0 up (and should have been 5 or 6) and yet come so scarily close to dropping three points. Never been a big fan of Crouchinho but he earnt some of my respect last night, although for me it was Garcia (yet again, our CL talisman) that impressed most. Positives are that we now top the group, and Alonso, Aurelio and Gerrard are starting to move up the gears, form-wise. Oh and Finnan confirmed why he is the best right back in the Premiership (Cashley Cole is not fit to lace his boots) - aside from his rock-like performance for oooh about 3 seasons running, did you ever see a RB skin a LB like that and whip a perfect cross in for the third goal? Class.
