'Recent discovery'??? John Glenn??? It's as if they're trying to score points off Omega rubbishing their claims of NASA-approved and the Apollo missions heritage link that Omega hold dear. What next, an official release from Rolex stating (what we all know to be true anyway ) that all the Apollo boys wore their own GMT Masters rather than the 'official' Speedy they were given?
-
Ah well, if the glove fits... Arrogance and disrespect my friend, they'll never learn - look where it got them again last night! Same as last year when they got eliminated in the group stage by Benfica, and the glorious year before that when they played a reserve side in the last group match, but got beaten to only finish runners-up and thus face AC Milan (the only time I have cheered for Hernan Crespo ) instead of the German minnows of Bremen who faced the group winners. You see? That's why I LOVE to hate them (as opposed to Mourinho's Mercenaries ) because they ultimately FU big-time and seeing that sour puss red-nosed grump with a face like thunder is priceless Sorry it's the 'Tic and the Danes for me - Benfica play very cynical negative football and are prone to cheating C'mon man you can't have THAT short a memory can you?!

Aaah, the Old Firm rivalry rears its head once more. Now where IS that pic of JTB and Neil a la Brokeback Mountain Glasgow-style??? Actually, I thought John was being quite restrained. Your post did come across with a heavy hint of gloat, you may as well have gone the whole hog and posted "Celtic got hammered! '!!! *edit* Found the pic!
-
Gran, is this one of those 'spot the ball' competitions???
-
Condolences JTB, I did warn you only one of my wishes could come true tonight - I actually feel a bit guilty now You still have a fighting chance of progressing, two wins and you'll make it My my isn't it quiet around here, I wonder where that Norsk Ape has got to, hmmmm
-
I agree - I've also seen and handled GMTs in ADs that have the sans serif 'rep' font. I don't know of any rationale for the variation, probably just typical irrational inconsistency on their part, after all they're infamous for it going back years. Still , at least the colour on the gens IS different in comparison - which is why the all-black insert on reps is a popular choice
-
Exactly, that's why it's lain in my parts bin for a couple of years. Once you see those gorgeous serif numerals on the gen, you are spoiled forever. Same with my 1675 - aftermarkets just don't cut it I'm afraid.
-
Oh dear, I fear for you once JTB sees this ...I can see his itchy trigger finger on the 'ban' button now. Damn and blast!!!! I just had a feeling Copenhagen would beat the Scum 1-0, I think I even dreamt it last night. Hard to explain, but that's why I was idly suggesting it in my earlier post. And there I was thinking about putting some money down and got as far as checking the odds online, would have got me a nice and tidy 15-1 Oh well, at least I still have the pleasure of taking the [censored] out of some Scum-supporting pals and colleagues
-
My only advice is to persevere with your search, they ARE out there 16710 To compare, 16710 aftermarket plus bezel - both of which I have no use for really anymore . Strong deep red colour almost but not quite gen colour (only noticeable side by side) and very slight bleed of numerals towards both edges of insert - apart from that, 98% there.
-
Well at least you won't give away any goals then Apart from hating the Scum, I will still be roaring on FC Kobenhavn for three other reasons... 1. God loves an underdog. 2. They deserve something after knocking Ajax out against all odds to get here. 3. We share a great sponsor, probably the best sponsor in the world
-
Nothing from tonight's games would please me more JTB, 'cept perhaps a 89th minute Danish strike to put the Scum in their place but unfortunately both cannot come to pass, hmmm which do I want more (sorry mate )
-
Actually, now I think of it, not so strange - I mean, General Franco was considered a 'moderator' of sorts
-
Yes Ken you are doing ok....apart from suffering a humiliating 4-0 football lesson against Lyon in an earlier group match, a team you have to play again in the next match after tonight's match. Actually, I'm surprised you plumped for Real in the first place Ken, based on what I imagine your character to be like. I'm referring to their history of fascist rule and bankrolling, their arrogant transfer dealings, and 'look at me I'm richer than you' Galactico mentality (think Harlem Globetrotters of football), being more concerned with commercial activities and boardroom infighting than what goes on the pitch. Don't get me wrong, I don't dislike Madrid, just that before Chelsea came along and took on the mantle, they had become the epitome of everything that is wrong in the game.
-
Actually, a RM v LFC match is quite likely seeing as at best you'll be going through as group runners-up. Firstly though, you'd better hope Houllier's boys don't give you yet another whipping in a few weeks' time .
-
Oh won't anyone let me have at least 24 hours of gloating, pffff Anyway, there's no Scum on this board (not out and proud at least) so what happens against the mighty Kobenhavn is immaterial. But yes, of course you're right, if you beat a tough Steau side tonight then yes you'll join us in the next stage - about time we met up again in this competition don't you think? Paris '81 was such a long time ago
-
Actually, he's NOT wrong. If we're being pedantic, that is the new TT GMT Master - according to my sources, it does not have a release date until next year so technically it isn't a 50th Anniversary edition in the way the FG GMT was (and the Sub LV of course). Here's a better pic.

Anyone else here through to the last 16 already with 2 games to spare??? Barca? Real? Chelsea? Milan? No??? What no-one??? Must be just Liverpool then!!!! :1a: :1a: .........and in Athens, REDS THROUGH TO LAST 16 IN STYLE Liverpool have qualified for the last 16 of the Champions League after two goals from Luis Garcia and a first of the season for Steven Gerrard gave them a 3-0 victory over Bordeaux at Anfield while Galatasaray were beaten by PSV Eindhoven in Holland. The Reds only needed to better the result of the Turkish Champions to guarantee their place in the knockout stages and Garcia and Gerrard's goals helped them achieve that and stay top of Group C with games against PSV at Anfield and Galatasaray in Turkey to come. Bordeaux now have only UEFA Cup qualification to play for and their miserable night was compounded when their midfielder Fernando Menegazzo was sent off for a headbutt on John Arne Riise midway through the second half. The Reds opened the scoring in the 23rd minute when Garcia crashed in a volley from Gerrard's right wing cross. And they fought off a brief Bordeaux fightback at the start of second half to make it a hat-trick of consecutive wins in the Champions League. There could have been no more popular scorer of their second goal after 71st minutes when Steven Gerrard raced onto Zenden's pass and finished coolly to bag his first goal of the season. A packed Anfield rose as one to acclaim their dynamic Captain. Luis Garcia put the finishing touches on a successful night for Rafa's men when he sped through to score his second of the night and make it 3-0 after 76 minutes. Momo Sissoko and Sami Hyypia both came close to making the scoreline even more emphatic in the closing minutes, but there was no one leaving Anfield disappointed after Liverpool once again gave their fans the opportunity to dream.

A Pile Of Questions About Omega Po Strap Options
docblackrock replied to mezzanine's topic in The Omega Area
No problem asking first of all, that's what this place is all about. No matter what you've heard, size IS a big deal . Seriously, your PAM naivety means you haven't yet experienced just how a couple of mms can make such a difference. Take yourself along to an Omega AD and try both sizes on, then you'll see what the deal is, girly wrist or not . It's one of those red pill/blue pill things, there ain't no going back -

1. No. (little metal nubbins on endlinks that seat into case) 2. No. AFAIK at least. 'Fraid you're just gonna have to choose....SS or rubber, and stick with it. -
Sleep-posting eh?

Just a bit of fun for a Sunday evening... I'm sure there'll be some arcane and obscure macro pics out there (e.g. The Zigmeister and some movement plate screw ), but I thought I'd start the ball rolling with a relatively easy one - what watch do THESE CGs belong to???
