Yep Breitling make a standard foldover type deployant clasp in SS. Will dig out a pic later.

Ok if you say so (Ape in private >>> ) So THAT explains the weird-tasting "caviar" I had in Norway this summer

Will there ever be an HBB in All Black?

Still waiting for form

Assume we're talking THIS model then? I suppose $800 is a good price, although this modern 'homage' has depreciated faster than a speeding bullet - most Heuer purists (me included ) consider it a 'cuckoo', something that inhabits a Monaco type case but isn't actually one. Let's face it, the McQueen chrono IS the Monaco, although it will have a new stablemate at Basel 2008 when finally the production model V4 Monaco is launched. But hey if you like it, buy it, probably going to give you more pleasure than a HBB paperweight/doorstop

Yeah yeah nice try noob Ok then, to prove you're not an imposter, tell me this using smilies only.....how's life without TH at the Grove?

Actually, the Anniv models do have flat sapphires. Apart from subdials of course, the only other major flaw I see is the red Omega logo above the pinion/hand stack. Looks too dark on the rep. But not a bad rep of the logo Anniv. I guess especially with the domed acrylic Speedy long out of production. Omega and the Anniv. models received a mauling in the horology press, for being a pathetic/wasted opportunity to do something really special for such a special watch and special anniversary. Must admit I agree. Here's the models....SS logo (rep based on), SS serial, WG serial, RG serial, and YG serial:

Received thanks. So no PAMs first run? OK well that takes me down to 1 (UPO) or 2 (if my Breit arrives in time)
-
Email sent, interested in getting at least 2.... Can you do domed mineral (e.g. PAMs) also??? If so, make that 4.

unable to take links out of new Aquaracer

Don't think those screw tools are much good in this case. Got mine adjusted by my watchsmith free of charge. He used a rubber block holder, hammer and long pointy metal thing although he did remark it was not a particularly easy job as the links are extremely well put together, as in 'solid'. Good luck finding someone local, surely a better option than getting the gen, which you'll only have to get resized anyway -
As soon as my own paypal 'issues' get sorted (within the week hopefully), I'll happily chip in....
-
I would also be interested in getting 2 done, my UPO and 187. Need to see sample pics first though as gen 187 does not have a strong purple AR hue.

If you want the best Speedy Moon rep, then it is THIS one (pic is of mine ) Bad news for you is that it's a discontinued model although they do crop up occasionally in the Trade section, Pugs just sold his.
-
Andrew's site is down again at my end so can't see. But yes, the 50th Anniv Speedy is real. They launched a gold version at Basel last year and my local AD now has the SS version (minor dial text addition denoting the XXXX/1957 serial) in a nice boxset. This will be one for NASA freaks or safe queens only hoping for a healthy return in a few years time.

Are you absolutely sure about that? You're not being particularly sharp down that ever-deepening grave you're continuing to dig.... Oh and in your dismissive sneering, you're mixing your authorities and awards....UNESCO World Heritage is one body, the Cultural Ministry of the EU Parliament is another. According to you, both obviously staffed by the blind and stupid Different outlooks, different circles, as Ry said earlier. But you should never assume anything about anyone by what they're wearing, or what they say, an Old World trait you seem to have lost, or maybe just never had? Although I'm now fairly confident assuming who the Daily Mail were targeting, when they decided to print locally in Florida...seems they can take the girl out of the Home Counties eh Vic....
-
Ry, is that a surreptitious acronym? Or are you just sitting outside Le D

"Bloody nuisance" warning level I believe Wasn't going to share the alert level of our other European friends for fear of offending, although I figured the French were fair game
-
And there she goes adding further stereotyped insult to injury, no really, I'd stop digging that hole if I were you.... I mean I would never think of making comments about someone who chooses to reside in Florida, by all accounts the 'Eastbourne' and cultural epicentre of North America. Nor would I make assumptions about Wantage, much less suggest it was a twee market town populated by Womens' Institute, church-fete-organising, plaid-wearing types whose main ambition in life is to marry off their horsey female offspring to 'solid chaps' (see their male offspring) with overbites called Julian or Tim, whose slack-jawed features and boorish personalities merely accent the fact they went to a third-rate public school, and now "do something" in the City, although disappointingly nothing that makes the FT and thus warrants dropping into conversation with the Jones' at No. 47. No, I would not say that because it would be a gross generalisation and impolite Ok to your challenge then... Liverpool (UNESCO World Heritage City and European Capital of Culture 2008, need I say more?), Chester (no longer a commuter base for other NW centres, a dynamic Roman city boasting very upmarket denizens and facilities, also a large base for science and technology industries), Leeds (extremely affluent and cosmopolitan city, with an economic growth unrivalled anywhere in the entire country), Manchester (still busily reinforcing its claim as the capital outside London, with the facilities and money to match, helped by the new media migration including the BBC, and a city centre plan that owes a big debt of thanks to the IRA. Scum football team though), Glasgow (Scottish version of Leeds) and Edinburgh (oh well if you need me to explain Edinburgh, there's no hope for you). Oh and since it's on the same latitude as some of the NW cities, let's add Dublin where my family is from, a city that is the epitomy of the resurgent "Celtic Tiger" economy, and where every fifth car seems to be an S-Class Mercedes. There's SEVEN cities north of Watford. Enough??? p.s. as for the GF comment, it wasn't cheeky or amusing, it was just inappropriate, ill-informed and yes, a little rude. However, sincere apology accepted.

Such a loss to the profession. Just what the world needed, another "trick cyclist" talking about 'wombs' and leather strap fetishes. Oh well, their loss, RWG's gain. Assume you mean discreet as in low-key rather than discrete as in separate, distinct? Ahh, the grammatical perils of being an expat/exile Anyway, if it's true for me, it's more nuture than nature as I have more Celtic/European blood than Anglo. But if you think City boys are in any way discreet (apart from the elves at Goldman Sachs), you are VERY much mistaken. Again, not in my experience and I'm disappointed you resort to such an outdated stereotype. The South East is predominantly made up of bling-seeking tasteless chavs, whereas the inhabitants of Northern cities display a much more discerning appreciation of luxury goods. Affluence and taste is more apparent in a relative sense (Cheshire WAGs excepted) there than anywhere within the M25. It stands out a mile whenever I am up there. The deafening silence of a line being crossed....

Size Comparison BTW 127 and UPO 45.5
docblackrock replied to cib0rgman's topic in General Discussion
Sorry no comparison shots of my UPO and 217 but some advice... The 127/217 just appears a much bigger watch than the 2mm difference in diameter suggests. A pic probably won't help. You'll need a wrist shot at the very least but even then...it depends on width of wrist rather than girth, as if the lugs protrude beyond the margins of your wrist (so you see no strap when looking face on), you'll look like your wearing a grandfather clock strapped to your wrist. Not a good look. Pugwash did a helpful drawing to explain this better a little while back. This is one that needs to be 'worn' to be assessed' but my thoughts are that if you can carry off the UPO without much problem then you'll be fine with a 47mm Pam. -
I don't know which worries me more, your first or last statement Either way, I'd seek help if I were you
