  1. freddys thread had a lot of good info including a aftermarket insert and all
  2. i think i've seen m serials in the 2 different cases.
  3. i looked at heflands auctions, and every pic even for the 5513 bezels is still the same pic btw.
  4. are you asking if there is anything better then the gen?
  5. girards site already hinted at it probably not being a gen watch. they even said not to buy them for resale as you will be making a big mistake. there is no way they would send a watch they are selling for $275 to a rsc to have them fix. RSC will confiscate anything thats not gen also.
  6. this must be a newer batch, is this the same case number as chris and freddy?
  7. So where do i start with the parts hunting, i'm not even sure what crown and tube to look for, which crystal would work best? the inserts that i see on ebay, dont seem to be a black one on ebay.
  8. supposedly theres a waiting list, so they will confirm as they get more in! it is still possible to get one maybe if you email them and get wait listed.
  9. Since this thread has some discussion of this watch, can someone point out if theres a rotor release anywhere on the movement?
  10. Some quick pics from one of my point and shoot cameras.
  11. here are direct links, if they are too big, let me know! If its too many pictures pm me, i will remove links and post a direct link to the album with a guest password
  12. incoming pictures soon! whoever assembled my watch used a small caseback oring that didnt even fit!!
  13. Both were from girards, i ordered the same watches that everyone did, and one came as a 7928. I will take some pics in a few hours, charging up the batteries for my slr. Both of my movements have some rust on it! looking quite gen to me.
  14. I received 2 of these today. Serial number = DIFFERENT!!. the 7016/0 has serial 737711 has a 2483 movement, the other is a 7928 has serial 522714 has a 2459 movement. visible crystal differences in terms of height etc. different casebacks, different dials and different hands. crowns are different, cases are different. 7016 has a caseback very similar to a tudor hydronaut that i have, and the 7928 has a caseback more like a 1665 great white that i have
  15. http://www.girards.com/index.html i think that was the site that was posted.
  16. i'm actually looking to do a tube replacement, the gen tube on mine broke somehow? replacing it with a clarks that costed 18.50. I picked up a crown/tube set from someone for cheap, they claim its a gen, but i have my doubts. read around where there was some vague descriptions to how its done, including retapping with a tool, even had a thread size, but no real guide.
  17. Can i ask if this is wholesaleoutlet990? Thanks
  18. Bk, any chance you can put that between a caliper and let us know how thick yours measures?
  19. I have pts sub, and i believe there was a gro0ve in the retaining ring with the extra o-ring. in addition to the crystal gasket.
  20. the only crystals with accurate laser etching are gens. aftermarket crystals definitely wont have them. i have a bkmariner tt that has a great and invisible etching except under the same lighting conditions as my gen, but that definitely wont fit properly on a euromariner.
  21. clark can be found on ebay searching for 295c or 295 c should find you a few crystals, you will know when you've found clarked. its worth mentioning that some members mentioned that the ofrei crystal having a bevel like the gen crystal.
  22. ubi is right on about the bevel, makes a visual difference to the way the watch looks. Have a gen 295c, a clarks 295c, and a used gen 295c from a 16800 with no etching. The used gen has something the clarks doesnt have.
  23. c1 is 2.5mm, c2 is 3.0mm, c2 would be the proper gasket, same crystal, different gasket.
