  1. To validate Jaymoi's post, here's the BBC page on it: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/6170209.stm The BBC links all the necessary forms in PDF format.
  2. Carefully. It was glued to the movement and the clamps were not in too tightly. Gentle pulling eased the dial off cleanly.
  3. I'm doing my 3717 datewheel change and have come across a tricky issue. How does the dial go back on? There are feet on the movement and I've no idea how the release mechanism works. Any ideas?
  4. Oh? Mine was a little tricky, but nothing too worrying.
  5. 5 mins a month is fine. I bet they'll be closer the second month.
  6. Congrats. That's a beauty.
  7. Just seen it and ... well, yes. As a UK citizen that has been ill in both the UK and France, I am now genuinely scared of visiting the US. Ouch.
  8. Nice work! Good to see more people getting mini-studios.
  9. As reliable as any ETA-powered replica. I'd recommend a service every 5 years.
  10. This isn't the case these days. The services offered are better, though.
  11. I have the v3i with iTunes and it's very good, but it's the damned 21st Century and we're still walking everywhere and using crappier phones than we deserve. Where's my flying car and where's my video-phone watch?
  12. Hmm ... the numbers are way off on the rep dial, sorry. The genuine numbers are significantly bigger than the rep dial numbers.
  13. A camera isn't the naked eye.
  14. I heard it from some new & improved osteopath...
  15. There hasn't been a decent mobile phone since the Nokia 7110. Since then, phones have lost the plot. Technology has advanced yet the phone still doesn't do what it should. The iPhone may not be your dream, but at least it's a wake-up call to the staid phone industry.
  16. ... and let's not forget the major flaw: Co-Axial movements beat at 25,200 vph - 7 ticks a second. Ok, it's hard to see, but it is possible.
  17. Most of the EU has much more strict tests than in the US but we simply don't have the same driving culture as you. Our cars are generally smaller, too, and we don't expect our kids to drive to school.
  18. Trying to recoup the costs of the seconds-at-3?
  19. You've never worked in film then. "Hey, that's non-union prop work! Ok men, down tools."
  20. Anal sex in porn started in the US market. The US is the largest consumer market for European porn. Quid est demonstrandum. It's just a taboo, that's why people do it. I could mention that it's in particular a California thing, mentioning the US reliance on horses and all that entails, and the gold rush to San Francisco creating a 90%+ male community that bred an awful amount of tolerance for man-on-man sex, leading to the society that SF now has, but that's just a theory.
  21. I'd at least be buying more watches.
  22. Not currently.
  23. This is so off-topic, which is why it's in the off-topic section.
  24. Heh, no I was a photographer's assistant.
