Carefully. It was glued to the movement and the clamps were not in too tightly. Gentle pulling eased the dial off cleanly.

I'm doing my 3717 datewheel change and have come across a tricky issue. How does the dial go back on? There are feet on the movement and I've no idea how the release mechanism works. Any ideas?
