  2. Me too, apart from the straight line S and the over-sized date window. I'm confused. The only difference I can see with mine is the lume looks neater and there's lume in the chapter ring.
  3. The owner seems to be a genuine collector. I have no reason to believe he thinks it's anything but genuine. Still, there's something about it that makes me wonder ...
  4. The PO is taller, the Fishy is deeper.
  5. No, it doesn't. There is no working example of a free market that has ever shown that. The whole point of this forum is to apply external help on trades. We're here to help people from getting scammed. IdealWatches gets customers. Fraudsters get customers, with reps sold as gens on eBay. We all stand together to stop this from happening, right? It's what we do. Conning and suckering isn't 'free market forces'.
  6. Selling counterfeit goods is illegal. I don't see how you could have missed that.
  7. I told you, it's the same lume as the Monster. It lasts longer than a rep. What more do you need?
  8. It lasts as long as it lasts. I've not sat there with a stopwatch and a light meter. I really have no idea. Yes, it's good, but it's under $100. You're not going to find anything better at that price unless you go for a Quartz watch with a battery lamp. You're putting far to many tests on such a simple purchase.
  9. You tell me: Here's all my lumes: As you can see, the SKX031 is nearly as bright as the Monsters. The onmy thing stopping it is the amount of lume applied to the dial. Yes, it's got good lume.
  10. I always wear a Seiko into an AD when I'm going to try on watches. It makes sense as it shows you appreciate mechanical watches but need something more expensive. A Seiko Monster is a well-respected watch, and anyone that doesn't appreciate it (they don't have to like it) isn't going to be educated enough to give you actual information about the watch they're trying to sell you. I went onto a dealers in Bangkok with my brother. His gen PO didn't get beyond a cursory glance, but a saleswoman complemented my Seiko - they assumed his gen was fake. It was rather funny. If you're not getting any love from the salespeople, stick your nose in the air and talk louder, like stupid rich people do, maybe while employing a silly accent. If you're going to fake having money, at least be funny about it. If they're stupid enough to fall for a fake watch, they may be stupid enough to fall for the fake accent. The only thing worse than showing an AD how good our reps are is posting replica pics to a gen forum.
  11. If a Monster is too pricey, you're going to find it hard to get something else. I'm going to suggest the SKX031, but it's still approaching $100. It's still waterproof, in theory, but can be worn almost anywhere you can wear a Rolex Sub.
  12. Trying something different. I think it works:
  13. Rubber.
  14. Her name is Reon Kadena and that's a scene from her movie Virginity.
  15. Or they have just saved $900 from IdealWank and it's burning a hole in their pocket.
  16. Yes, I agree. It makes no sense.
  17. No, I'm the one the girls talk to because I don't spend all evening talking to their [censored]. It's funny, you get many more opportunities to see a girl's chest in the flesh if you spend more time showing her a bit of respect.
  18. You're assuming the watches arrive from the dealer serviced. I'd pay more for a The Zigmeister-serviced 7750 than a non-serviced one. If, for instance, I were to sell my IWC GST Chrono (Gen dial, The Zigmeister-serviced) on this forum, I'd start at $500 and go down. That's a ridiculous price by any stretch of the imagination, but I bet I'd get between $400 and $450 for it.
  19. If you were going to have the movement serviced, then yes, you can pay extra for a pre-serviced watch - don't forget, the first service isn't the same as the second, third or fourth. If it's an ETA 2836 or Seagull, I'd not see that as added value, however. It all comes down to what added value is acceptable. To me, it's only worth it if it's stuff I was going to pay for in the first place.
  20. I think that some dealer reviews sound a lot like over-reactions and that sometimes a cooling off period is good. However, and this is where the problem lies, I believe that everyone else should wait and I can post immediately. I suspect everyone feels the same. Your example is unusual as my Poisson d'Acier review isn't a dealer review. I would hate to wait two to three days to do a pictorial of a new watch as the freshness of the angles is important. I usually shoot over 30-40 photos from all sorts of angles, distances, speeds and apertures. If the watch is new, I can easily find the 3-6 shots I want to post up, but if it's not new, I'll be too used to the details and nuances.
  21. Here are a couple of new pics ... Bob for Breitling black strap: And here's a scale shot: ... and finally, a wristshot in the black strap.
  22. Ooh, here it comes!
  23. You missed "May scare the female members by reducing them to gawping objects".
