  1. I'm trying something different today, to try to break the dominance of the Tin Haddock: ... and over the weekend, the aforementioned Tin Haddock (yesterday's wristshot) will probably make a reappearance.
  2. Here's my Poljot 1960s dress watch:
  3. Thanks. Very nice watch.
  4. I was lucky enough not to have been suckered into paying for stink, but yes, every boy of a certain age in the 70s was guaranteed a Hai Karate pack from a relative that didn't know better.
  5. The monument in Thermopyles is to the last stand, not all the soldiers present. Those who went home before the end weren't commemorated.
  6. Wifey's World? Wifey usually wears a yachtmaster ...
  7. AR does indeed make a rep look gen. It's subtle, but I think I'm hooked. Cheers, mate.
  8. Is everyone missing the important description of the Sub he's after. Recommending SS subs is silly when he's looking for two-tone ones ...
  9. Herodotus disagrees with you: Units Numbers Spartans 300 Mantineans 500 Tegeans 500 Arcadian Orchomenos 120 Other Arcadians 1,000 Corinthians 400 Phlians 200 Mycenaeans 80 Thespians 700 Thebans 400 Phocians 1,000 Opuntian Locrians 13 Total 5,200+ Now, at the end of the battle, the remaining troops left the Arcadians and Spartans. The last stand was indeed just the 700/300.
  10. I just checked mine and I'm talking tosh. I have a 26mm and a few 22mms. Forgive my stupid moment, I'll get back to being a clever know-it-all tomorrow.
  11. Erk! I wonder if I'll make it before my forced-by-house-moving absence?
  12. Good luck. Any problems, just post to the repair forum and someone should help.
  13. 26mm? You're absolutely sure? 217 and 127 straps taper to 24mm at the buckle end. The smaller straps that are 24mm at the lugs taper to 22mm. Could you measure the lug with the wrong end of the strap?
  14. That's a GST, not a Pilot. The pilot he's talking about is in Unicorn999's section.
  15. Or pay with Euros.
  16. Hey, at least you're in the game.
  17. I know. That's my point. I'm exceedingly bitter over the whole cartel issue. The phrase "Dun be a Pug", uttered by Joshua as an insult, came from someone complaining about their appalling price-fixing attempts of this very watch. This is why I had to have it from the first Non-cartel dealer that made it available. You can't use my name as an insult without expecting me to take it a little to heart. What people need to understand is that Joshua and Andrew have repeatedly misled them and, from what I can tell, people are ok with it. They price-hiked this watch and a few others saying that their cartel were the only people that would ever get this watch and the price would never drop. This was said so that people would buy off them instead of waiting for the cheaper dealers to get it. Well, we fell for it, and it looks like we were happy to be drawn into their game. They get away with it because we're happy to let them. Anyway, rant over. Support your local, non-price-fixing, non-colluding dealer.
  18. Yeah, it focusses on the 300 and a handful of Arcadians. There's no mention of the 700 Thespians, for instance. Still, this doesn't stop it from being an excellent film. I too like Miller's stuff, even Robocop 2 , and I was glad for a faithful adaptation. He seems to have a lot more luck than Alan Moore for the accuracy of his adaptations ...
  19. Trust me, you can't. The AR Sapphire on this is just too damned good to ignore.
  20. ETA with AR Sapphire?
  21. Where on earth is this available for $100 less?
  22. I've just watched it again and it's a truly brilliant film.
  23. Congrats everyone and good luck. I'll be in round three.
  24. The US. The Dollar sucks too much to export it.
