  1. Paul?
  2. I bought a gold Prez for mucking about with, and it's nowhere near as nice as this Sub. That Sub is rather shocking. I honestly can't think of anything to say.
  3. ... and your post inspired me to update My Collection post!
  4. UPDATE 12-03-2007 What have we missed? I picked up this Glash
  5. wow.
  6. I know, but my answer was funnier.
  7. Let's see ... Second hand MoonWatch, new Fortis chrono, return flight to Thailand with enough change for an MBW ... Tough choice.
  8. Basically, it's my fault. Actually, looking at my pictures, I bet you didn't install them like I suggested: See how mine are pictured installed off-centre? :Jumpy: :Jumpy:
  9. Same with the black-faced one, no? Actually, seeing as neither of them has a Rolex rotor, they're still Franks. edit: oops, aftermarket case. I'll shut up.
  10. It is indeed the basic Aquatimer Chrono (IW371928):
  11. No, it really isn't.
  12. How much difference? About $75. The Watch Silix watches are mind-bendingly cheap, but they're not for us. They're for people who just want something approximate.
  13. You assume these experts don't read this thread? Remember, every PM sent directly to someone's box is like ringing them at home. The best advice these experts would give you is to post a question to the forum. Every answer posted here helps the community. Every PM answered helps one person. ps. any chance of posting links to the auctions?
  14. It's Bangkok Best time. I should have some tools arriving soon to let me install my gen crystal.
  15. Seeing as the search feature must be broken for you, or else you'd have used it, I'll find the relevant post for you: http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=21204 Read the whole thread and see if you can read between the lines.

    Scam alert

Bunnings = B&Q in the UK.
  17. That makes my posts 3% of total posts? Damn, I need a life. Oh well, you can all catch up in three weeks when I go internetless due to my house move.
  18. Excellent. I've written a song already. "You are ..."
  19. I used to live in the 18eme, where this film was set (the director lives in the 18eme region of Paris) and I'm constantly amazed at how clean he got everything outdoors. So much digital post-prod, but also he had a team of cleaners polishing the front of Gare de l'Est for days before filming began. The stone-skipping scene was set on Canal St Martin, which was the first bit of Paris (Stalingrad, 19eme) I lived in before moving to the 18eme. That lock she's on used to be visible from my window, if you leant out carefully.
  20. May I suggest a Datejust isn't for you?
  21. I used to have a Chinese restaurant in Glasgow that answered the phone "Hallo, Chinkies!" instead of "Hello, Chinese restaurant!" I find it difficult to believe that the Chinese community in the UK would be as offended by it as a Chinese community in the US. Like I say, it's a cultural thing. I don't use the term Chink myself, but am familiar with the word "Chinkie" as a Chinese restaurant. While I would not use the term on an international forum, I'm not going to get defensive over it. There are so many more things worthy of getting offended by.
  22. Are you in the US? Don't confuse what's insulting in one culture with what's insulting in another.
  23. Excellent story, shame about those smart-looking wheels Is your burner expecting the standard 4 watts coming out of the back of your Cobra? I remember as a kid back in the 80s slapping "1969 Power Transistors" in Cobras and Rotels to take them from the legal UK limit of 4 watts up to 12-20 watts. Is this still common practice?
  24. Click the out-of-date "My Collection" link below. It's missing a few recent watches (MBWs, a 187, a 45mm PO and a few others) but it gives you an idea.
