  1. Over here, that's acceptable. Over there, it's not. At least, that's the impression I get. Edit to say ... you can tell this because over here, I don't get moderated or warned and threads are hijacked quite often without any moderator alerts.
  2. No, it's better. It's a Ducati. With this rep being available, does this mean Ducati will race it in World Superbikes? If so, it'll be entertaining for Ducati to have a 4-cyl 1000cc superbike.
  3. It's a fantasy, if you mean this one:
  4. ... and herein lies the problem. It's a lot of effort and isn't that much fun, really.
  5. Wow, there appear to be quite a lot of people here that are only getting some vicariously ...
  6. It's a bit soon to say others have failed, isn't it? Give it a few days for everyone else to post their 45mm POs and I reckon most of the trustworthy dealers will offer it.
  7. I am tempted by your offer, but have to decline today. However, let's arrange a get-together in Paris for next week or the one after. An Excellent idea, in fact! I work in Issy Les Moules-frites and can get to Montparnasse very easily by ligne-12. The British Pub on rue de depart is an excellent pub in your area. Better than the ones we have in Boulogne-Billanourt, that low-rent suburb.
  8. He moderates his own selling area so he can delete posts. By these standards, Paul-Asspire is a moderator here. Just saying, and all that. It's lovely here in Paris today, and I'll be taking a stroll later as long as that tennis match over the road from me doesn't make it too tricky.
  9. It wasn't directed at any specific individual.
  10. No, it was pure hyperbole. Comparing priviledges to rights will always make one look uninformed. And as long as you don't clearly express your thoughts, how can I be certain you're not just trolling? You do have a habit of just antagonising people to see how they will react, so I like to be clear with what you're trying to say just so I can tell if you're trying to partake in a discussion or merely derail it to a 'look at me' hijack. Allegedly.
  11. Comment from me then. Elliot is a Dealer, as is Eddie, Joshua, Precious Time, TTK, Narikaa, etc ... they all have moderator privs on their own subforums. Elliot cannot edit posts, close threads, admonish people or any of the other tasks normally associated with mods. To imply Elliot is behind RWI is as dumb as the suggestions Asspire Paul is secretly running this place. ps. I'm not involved in RWI, apart from as a frequent poster there, but I can't stand this rivalry [censored]. It makes no sense to do Us vs Them when some of Us are some of Them.
  12. Firstly, is it really not allowed, or are you just being discouraged from hijacking threads? Secondly, if this were the case, what on earth does it have to do with the first amendment? I think you're mistaking a private website on the internet with the united states.
  13. Mrs Pugwash is eyeing my 111h a little too intensly, saying in an unsubtle way how pretty it is. You must have a 111h lying about: let her try it on. Tell her that there are loads of fashionable straps that fit it and watch her accesorising gland kick in.
  14. The contact for their host is support@1and1.com so send them an email complaining you can't connect to 217.160.246.193 They may require a traceroute. Here's how to do it in Windows: Run CMD (Windows-R, type "CMD", hit enter) and type TRACERT 217.160.246.193 This will give you the info they need. On OSX, in Terminal (/Applications/Utilities/Terminal) type traceroute 217.160.246.193 On Linux/BSD/Solaris, if you don't know how to do a traceroute, get a Mac. It's obviously too hard for you.
  15. RWI runs on a host that for no real apparent reason has routing issues with some ISPs. I've been through it with their technical support and they find nothing wrong. They can access it from anywhere, and therefore assume I'm being silly. What you need to do is contact their hosting provider and complain. I'll go through my mails and post contact details soon.
  16. You're on Free.fr at a guess. No-one on Free.fr can get to it. I use a proxy (and please don't PM me for the details, it's my office VPN)

It's not emulated ... Ok, for games, a reboot is best. For any non-directx apps, it's about as fast as a non-vm.
  18. I wonder if the IWC Aquatimer is water-resistant ...

There's a way of doing it in a virtual machine without rebooting. http://www.parallels.com/en/products/workstation/mac/ As I don't have an Intel Mac (still on the dual G5 tower here) I have not tested it. ps. Welcome to the right side of the tracks.
  20. TTK's $100 one. I wub my sub. ps. The lighting on this was really tricky. I used a tent, two sources, a dark-green sheet of plastic for reflections, a hand-held mirror ... f2.8, Panasonic DMC-FZ20, Hoya Polarising filter. Very little photoshopping on the subject. Basically, no cheats, all in the lens.
  21. Yes, and don't forget overtightness doesn't mean waterproof. You want to compress the silicon-greased O-ring, but not crush or tear it. tighten it enough, but not too much.
  22. So, sounds like a regular saturday morning on the west coast of bonnie sheepland. /me ducks
