  1. Gorgeous watch. The Tritium thing is odd on this watch because it was built before, during and after their switch away from Tritium, therefore there are some models with T SWISS MADE T faces, some without. The odd ones are the watches without tritium on the dials but with tritium on the hands.
  2. Point conceded, but it works both ways. Drive the Ram in cities much?
  3. The point is that your big car will have killed them, not their small one. It's only dangerous driving a city car if you're on the same road as people in Dodge Rams. I mean Dodge Ram... doesn't the name say it all? dodge: avoid (someone or something) by a sudden quick movement ram: (of a vehicle or vessel) be driven violently into (something, typically another vehicle or vessel) in an attempt to stop or damage it I mean it's not even subtle or subliminal. Dodge. Ram. edit for typo
  4. ... and they'd call them the stupid ones for driving a smaller car. Damn, I love America.
  5. ... and in some cases lower quality than the $100 watches.
  6. Photos of real watches, thousand-dollar price-tags? 100% scam rip-off site.
  7. I wonder if the rep has that big-ass regulator arm on it...
  8. You're absolutely right. I'm now worried myself:
  9. Imagine that they shared parts with the GST Chrono, then it'd have a screw-down crown. I bet you will not be disappointed.
  10. Google says "First unique thing about the Hemipode is definitely its case. It's shaped more or less like an M & M (or like a Smartie for us Euros). It's aso-called monocoque construction, that means it doesn't have a separate back but a hardly visible bezel that can be unscrewed with a special tool, so access to the movement is from the top."
  11. Were you wearing rubber gloves? If not, do so.
  12. No. Nobody does. The pictures on those replica sites are of genuine watches. They lie. Their goal is to get you to spend a thousand bucks on a watch that is lower quality than the ones you can buy here. The $100 watches here are not the best you can get, but they're way better than the $800 watches the rip-off sites offload onto unsuspecting victims. Nobody sells replicas experts think are real, Swiss means asian-made for swatch and there is no AAA+++ grade. You will never get a watch that a dealer thinks is genuine, especially as their first test is looking up the serial number. Get a $100 Sub from a reputable dealer here, like Precious Time or Joshua or any of the others and you will be amazed by the quality. My first purchase was one of the new generation asian Subs and it's all I ever need in a watch. That didn't stop me getting a whole bunch more replicas afterwards, though.
  13. You live in a Le Corbusier house? The cleaning bills for the white concrete are apparently horrendous, can you confirm this?
  14. Why on earth do you assume the crown doesn't screw down? At a guess, I'd say the crown does screw down. It does on the original, it does on the GST Chrono ...
  15. 42.5mm or there abouts, including the crown. It's the same size as the IWC GST Chrono, from what I can gather.
  16. This model was made in the transition between Tritium and non-tritium. It's possible both dials are correct.
  17. Was he the guy that deleted posts, changed text and basically caused havoc on the old site as people were trying to rescue it? Or have I got the whole thing messed up? Like I say, I arrived as the old site was closing down and don't know that much about anything.
  18. And people wonder why I don't own a single Palbundi.
  19. I bet he claims one of them belongs to god, along with everything else from the wrist down.
  20. Well said. I arrived after the whole mess started churning up, but it does seem like we're missing something. I'm not American, so I don't need the closure thing that people seem to go on about on TV, but I wouldn't mind a bit of denouement, instead.
  21. The Sub is a classic. It's clean lines and masculine design, without being ... um, compensatory, place it in the classic "I'm rich, but adventurous and sporty" category we all wish we could be. It basically presses all the right buttons. It's got the rolex brand, and that counts. It's got no gold or flash. It could be just a regular metal watch, but it just isn't. It signifies sport, but nothing involving horseshit or mud, and it works. Ten-year old boys want one. Forty-year old men want one because it reminds them of what they thought men should be like when they were ten. It's the perfect man's watch. It's the watch we all wish people would assume we wore. "Oh, yeah, Pugwash. I saw him with one of those swimsuit models, and he was off to go shark harpooning or something. I bet he wears a Rolex Sub, like the real James Bond did back in the day."
  22. Please don't mistake my meticulous and thorough research and eye for detail as expertise, by the way. Until the dealers posted the pics of these reps, I'd never heard of these beauties before.
