  1. Just pushing stuff until it breaks ... Click for huge 1920x1200 version
  2. Guys ... 1:1 and Seconds at 3? No-one is selling 2894-powered reps.
  3. He's selling Chinese as Swiss? I very much doubt it. Also, his tax comment is true. In the EU, you have to add VAT to everything at the point of sale. For selling abroad, it's the buyer's responsibility to pay duty.
  4. eBay. There's a German dealer[1] that sells them. [1] Whose name I've forgotten. However, there are dozens of sellers out there.
  5. What size wallpapers should I be doing, by the way?
  6. You can see which ones have no AR, light AR, single AR and full-on K2222 AR.
  7. For those of you keeping score at home, this is my current collection. These are my two boxes. Yes, there's a third, with less interesting pieces in it (like the gaytona ...) but these are the primary and secondary. This watchbox is the primary box. Normally, this is where I decide what to wear. This is the secondary box. The less-worn stuff lives here. Yes, there's a watch missing. It's my SFSO that would normally take the place of the 1665 in the primary box, but Mrs Pugwash's dad has nicked it. Sometimes watches migrate from one box to another. It's amusing to try to track the migratory patterns, but ultimately it's a futile exercise.
  8. I just bought a Canon D400. I did plenty of research and realised it's a coin toss between Nikon and Canon, but I prefer the Canon's aesthetics ad friends have Canons so I can nick their lenses.
  9. Something like that. It's definitely a Toscana. ps. I took this for you today. I was wearing an IWC this morning, but changed when I started taking some pics.
  10. As wide as you can get. It's not like you want the background in focus ...
  11. These watches are known as "Marriage Watches" where an old pocket watch, preferably a small one, is fitted into a wristwatch case. The large watch phenomenon is what makes these saleable. I'd get an IWC one, if I saw one for a good price.
  12. Get the version without the Top Gun caseback if possible.
  13. Use a dark background? You're always going to have to balance the foreground and background so you should either get handy at photoshop or just practice.
  14. The only mods anyone should ever make to an MGB is putting a V8 (or even a decent modern V6) in one and uprating the brakes, suspension and running gear. The exterior should be untouched. Wire Wheels are the nearest you're allowed to a rim upgrade.
  15. Here's a couple of shots I took today, getting to grips with my new DSLR. One standard One macro As always, either can be clicked for a 1280px wide version. Comments welcome.
  16. Is that the truck you bought last year?
  17. This Monday, I started with this one ... ... and changed to this one. ps. It's not really snowing, that's an old photo.
  18. Oh? I thought it was this one: It is a truly amazing strap, isn't it.
  19. It's the sort of wrist-weight that grows on you, fast. It's akin to strapping a tuna can to your wrist, but after a while, the steam-punk aesthetic just gets its claws into you.
  20. Ok, it's not a rep, but I've always wondered if there was a way of making lume shots slightly less ... mechanical. We all know that looking at a picture of lume in no way shows what it's like in person, so if we're going to keep doing it, let's make it more interesting. Here's my first attempts at making lume shots look more like watch photos. They're both taken at my back window with a 30-second exposure. Comments, as always, are much appreciated.
  21. I presume the inspiration is the DNA in your avatar. I like the care you're taking in adding Wabi-Sabi to your watch.
  22. Running the chrono doesn't use any more power.
