  1. Honky-Dorry? I think it was just a crappy stunt, like the guy who pretended to eat a baby. The artist is a [censored] and I don't care for him one way or another, but the very basis of our law is innocent until proven guilty. Listen to yourselves, you're a mob. What next, put on hoods and get some lynching rope? I hate animal cruelty as much as the next man, but I also hate mob mentality and people just knee-jerking into action over a hysteria email. All I'm asking for is a sense of proportion.
  2. I don't have a comeback to this. It's expressed your stance perfectly and shows exactly where you're coming from. You can't argue with that level of ... well, you know.
  3. Did they really see this or did they just believe they saw this? It's just bad art. The fact there was a dog involved doesn't change that. Was there actual cruelty? If so, the law should have been involved, and I doubt no-one did anything. I still believe it's a hoax and the majority of investigators agree with me. One thing it's proved is that people there did nothing and people who weren't are up in arms. This reflects local tragedies so perfectly. You'll sign petitions on your blackberries against cruelty to a dog whilst stepping over the homeless guy in the street that could actually do with your help right now. I still think it was bad art, but it's bad art we're talking about. ps. I'm still waiting for the big reveal.
  4. Not in any European city I've lived in. Go watch-spotting on certain lines of the Paris Metro or the London Underground. Even well-paid people need to get to work at rush hour.
  5. In my office (40-odd people?) in Glasgow, there are two Rolexes, two TAGs and a handful of good quartz (tissot, B&M, etc.) and ... no suits. The guy with the Explorer II cycles in from Edinburgh sometimes, one of the TAGs is a designer, the Tissot Chrono is a designer, the visiting designer from London wears an Auto PAM and casual arty clothes ... It's not the 80s any more. What do the Silicon Valley billionaires wear? It's sandals, jeans, t-shirts and whatever sunglasses look good in their SLKs. Panerais are more about style than cash. It just happens you need the cash to have the style.
  6. There's a guide for people like you: http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=56614
  7. Good AR is difficult to photograph. Good AR is near impossible to see in low light conditions, creating the disappearing crystal fans of Chieftang and Jakub know so well.
  8. The spring drive isn't a hybrid as such. It's best described as a mechanical watch with a digital escapement.
  9. I use this press with nylon dies. It's cheap, but has managed every watch I've thrown at it. Sure, I'd love more pro equipment, but if you're like me and skint, this will do.
  10. Jones, Big Pilot, Perpetual Calendar ... all pretty damned pricey.
  11. Once more, an amazing review. Glad to see one of my favourites scored so high. However, I'm going to question one bit: Every single pusher on my strap works as per the genuine. The only possible fault is the off-coloured link, but I've seen gen photos where the same link is off-coloured.
  12. That's not blue in the room. It's a secondary reflection of the white made bluer with the photoshop darkening of the crystal/dial.
  13. What about a Chopard Mille Miglia? It's got driving connotations and doesn't scream fake. Oh, Mrs Pugwash's dad has nicked my Breitling Steelfish on deployant and is considering keeping it, so there's another suggestion.
  14. K2222 AR and the 187's 26mm dive strap turn this cheap Radiomir 183 into something special. Click it to make it bigger.
  15. I'll bet it's not as good as you're used to here. You'll be better off buying from a dealer here.
  16. Turn around and go home. Life's too short to give spacktards money.
  17. Nowhere near as many as they sell self-destructing Daytonas.
  18. If you build it, they will come. Don't ask; Do.
  19. Well, my watch isn't that fancy as it's a sterile homage. Click the pic for a 1280px version to abide by the rules.
  20. I'm staying well clear of this one, don't worry.
  21. Phillip Island, 2003. Amazing talent.
