Um, but they're right. You're wearing a fake.
They may be right for the wrong reasons, but you can't deny they are right.
Besides, if you're determined to lie your way out of it, you just need to say "Sure it's a fake. I'm not wearing a real one here. Do you think I'm stupid?"
Yeah, you know I'll call [censored] on this one, don't you.
Hitler wasn't a vegetarian, for a start.
As for the abortion one, Beethoven was the eldest child of three surviving infancy. Andreww gets it dead on just above.
If you can't stand the idea of being called out, don't wear reps. If someone calls you out, they are in fact right. Acting like a tw@ won't change that.
Or don't wear reps of expensive watches.
I got mine from Precious Time in the UK. It's not had anything done to it yet, but it's due some K2222 AR and I've got some ETA date wheels in a box ready to go.
If you hand over the watch to them for a service or free bracelet resize, you're passing it off as a genuine branded watch and that's when it becomes a trademark infringement as opposed to a replica. All bets are off.
Possessing a replica watch isn't illegal but passing counterfeit goods off as genuine is. Before you decide to battle with ADs over the law, take legal advice from a copyright/trademark lawyer first.
In other words, don't be so stupid as to assume you can hand over your counterfeit watch to an AD without something bad happening.
Why not ask the photographers what Macros they use to get the good photos you like. I think you'll be surprised.
For instance, I don't use a Macro and I don't think that many of the other reviewers do.
The master stamps his authority on the review game. Another winner.
Now, the watch, It's definitely a great rep and I too can see a time in my life where my hair would go grey and my watch would turn gold and this watch would fit nicely. Just not today.
Welcome to organised religion. They all do it, and they all had good reasons 4,000 years ago. If you're crossing a desert en masse, relying on each other for survival, it makes sense to put the fear of God into people, for their own good. The problem comes when those who instituted the idea die without telling anyone it wasn't real, much like the US Government and Al-Quaeda.
I'll give you an anecdote to mull over.
It doesn't help that the 1930s original wasn't that inspired. Of all the vintage range, this one is the least inspired. It's a plain copy of what was not IWC's high-point of design.
Not quickly enough, unfortunately. Mutation and optimisation happens over tens of thousands of years (yes, the earth is millions of years old) so we'll not see nature adapting fast enough to our impact on the planet.
But don't worry, some divine power can always pop up and fix everything. That's the alternative.
ps. Ken, if I make some deeply amusing, but anti-religious comments, can we please get this thread closed?
