  5. Me neither, i think he has a number of watches to sell but has to be a collector in order to sell in that volume, i think, the 50/50 bit not sure

  8. Thanks Dirk It was worth the wait for the hands, i had a bit of a problen with hour wheel slippage, and could not find an oring thin enough to sit below the min hand to hold the hour and and wheel down, but i have just reset the min hand again and it does not look like the hour wheel will lift off the drive gear now.
  9. I like watches too but for my 5000 post i thought i would face up to the truth, I have a problem but i have found a support group that meets in parts of Europe and we all have a similar problem. 11. I dont think that the crown in question is a spring loaded one, if the crown and stem are still solid together then it may be damage to the winding pinion and clutch wheel. But beacause you say the lever is now loose it leads me to believe that the crown has screwed down tighter on the stem making is shorter and then makeing the winding pinion and clutch wheel not fit together well
  12. I am toying with the same idea, i was thinking of a mirrored back to the dial to catch more light. BTW you have PM
  13. very easily, go to a watch smiths, generaly the normal battery change place you can find in a market place# or you can do it on a leather strap with just about any thing you will find in the kitchen drawer, with a a bit of care, you need to slip a thin knife edge between the strap and lug to be able to compress the spring bar by catching it between the groves, you will also have to compress the leather a bit. Once you have done it a couple of times you can do it with you eyes closed. but a tool like this is better But if you dont feel confident just find a watch smiths to do it for you but NOT and Authorsed Distributor
  14. Best place to start mate. if the end looks ok then see if it is still tight in the crown
  15. Why not look about and read Bytors guide to the best rolex reps and then the collector reviews and make a decision based on that, no links sorry i am too lazy to go and find them.
  16. You might have stripped some threads from the stem or crown may just be a simple loctite job to fix it, does every thing look in order in the back, are there any teeth missing from the winding gears and are they all lining up correctly
  17. I am surprised that you did not like the VC, i dont have one my self but it always appeals to me
