Does any one know what the hand sizes are for an omega 552 works ie 120,70,20 i have looked all over but cant find this info. Thanks
-
This one now it is working but on nato
-
Found it while looking for the hand sizes for a 552 franken SM 300

Thanks Ryaku, but the boredom made me do it i would not say i was proficant at all. I like the seamster but it is small only 36mm with out crown here is a wrist shot I dont have masive wrists either but it looks better on the Nato that i have it on now, i think a blue one or James Bond would look better. By the way you should see the lume on this baby, i dont know if it is the original radiom or if it was redone before i got it but it is like a torch.

Yesterday was a good day not because i was feeling shitty because i had i cold, or the fact it was cold out side but because i was bored, you see i have a 1969 seamaster that had always suffered from a slipping second hand, at first it kept perfect time but the seconds would stick at different times, i took it to my local guy who sead he could not find the problem but the hand is firm on the post. So it sat in the box being unloved untill i thought i would bite the bullet and take it to the AD, their prgnosis was that it could only be fixed with a new movement, and as new 552s are not available i declined to put another wors in it. Now i am not mechanicaly inept, i can and do rebuild harley engines in my spare time and had in the past repaired the keyless works in an old pocket watch i had, done a movement swap in a panerai. So out come the tools and we open it up, at this point i new it was not running at all infact since it came back from the AD IT HAD NOT RUN AT ALL! So i opened it up and see that ther ballence would not move it was jammed on some thing, also the outo winder was jamming as well, yes on a movement clamp that had no screw on it, so now we have a good idea what is jamming the balence as well. So with much caution i remove the auto winder and give the watch a tap and out pops the screw from the clamp and the balence swings away freely! Now to find out why the second hand slips? with the auto winder remover you can see the seconds drive gear (1) and the seconds post(2) the drive gear (1) was slightly buckled and was passing ove the top of the gear on the post (2) for 23 seconds of its 7min 33 seconds rotation so i adusted it a little so it was running flat and there you go it runs sweet as a nut. I was so enthused with this sucsess that i went on to fix 2 noew of my vintage collection A 1940 Invicta with a Seeland bumper works that had sticking hands and a 1960s West end watch Co with sticking ratchet gears in the auto winder on an ETA 2848 It just goes to show what can be achived with a bit of patiece and boredom now wheres that grand complication gone to?

This one i got off the bay about 18 months ago, it always had a slipping second hand and of the two repair places i took it too the last being and AD both said it need ed a new movement, so i fixed it my self yesterday. I payed £140 for it and i just love the shape but hate the hands, looking for a new pair. The watch is not original as some one has reshaped the lugs to be like more recent omegas and i like that. -
What you realy need is this in there ebay not selling it but i might bid on it!

Is It A Good Idea Of Having 2 Watches When Traveling Abroad?
FxrAndy replied to woody's topic in General Discussion
I always has a spare watch with me, even when i used to wear quartz. I have taveled a bit and have never had a problem with customs. -
I have seen very few bond sub frankens about and even a lot of the vintages seam to have the new fluted bezel. In another post this picture was shown tudor sub and it got me to think would this tudor bezel fit a normal sub case is so it may be a way to make a bond type sub? If you compare the fluting on the side of the bezel with the ones shown here it looks very similar to the old style ones. So if you took a 5512 like this one joshes 5512 added the bezel from a tudor above, removed the CG totaly, Ok you sre still left with the crown to find but at least you would have the correct bezel if you could get the right insert????
-
I would say the watch was worth £500+ if it is all correct, at least that is waht i have seen them go for on the bay, but i have never seen one just like that. I will repost the question in the rolxe forum and see what they say.

Sorry to hijack the tread a bit but would that tudor bezel fit a normal sub case is so it may be a way to make a bond type sub? Sorry that i have arrived a bit late to the party but i would like to add the Railmaster to the list, there is one small fault in the face and i mean small the only other give away is the works whan you turn it over. Joshes railmaster If this was fitted with the seagull version of the 2892 like in the AT here it would be that step closer even better if omega just put a solid back on it would solve all these probs but on the wrist it is 99.99999999999% perfect -
A Russian couple was walking down the street in St. Petersburg the other night, when the man felt a drop hit his nose. "I think it's raining," he said to his wife. "No, that felt more like snow to me," she replied. "No, I'm sure it was just rain, he said." Well, as these things go, they were about to have a major argument about whether it was raining or snowing. Just then they saw a minor communist party official walking toward them. "Let's not fight about it," the man said, "let's ask Comrade Rudolph whether it's officially raining or snowing." As the official approached, the man said, "Tell us, Comrade Rudolph, is it officially raining or snowing?" "It's raining, of course," he answered and walked on. But the woman insisted: "I know that felt like snow!" To which the man quietly replied: "Rudolph the Red knows rain, dear!" Merry christmas

Sorry RT but i must have missed the request for information, i would have looked for it had i known, just out of interest would the fact the it is only 13.50mm and not 20mm high have made a difference on this poll? by the way i have no hidden agenda in the question it is your poll and i dont seek to change any thing, i am looking forward to the next poll so i can submit again. Andy

I thought that you can bolt a PR onto 28** movements? or even the seagull one inthe cheep pam 90s, the one with the balence bridge like a rolex ?

The Sea hawk Poll has been deleted by Richard Tracy for the bellow reasons Quote RT Hello,... Yes, I marked that poll for deletion. Reasons; 1. It falls under a total sports theme. 20mm in thickness eliminates it for dress, or executive wear. 2. It's popularity was distracting from watches that could win. If you could be patient, the next watch we are going to rep is in the sports - tool category. Sorry, however if you wish to discuss the watch in more detail.. I am open. Kevin End Quote Looks like all the supporters of the Sea Hawk will have to wait to see if this one gets off the grownd to see if there is a next time!
-
Why not become a supporter then?
