  1. There are some fantastic deals to be had on the Brosnan era non Co-Axial SMP at the moment, even if the window prices haven't fallen ;)

As for the 45mm/22mm black PO, the minute someone reps the 22mm rubber strap or starts selling the genuine ones for something less than complete rip-off prices ($300!!) I'm there. In the meantime my lightly modded Asian 45mm/20mm from Trusty is serving me very well - what is the point in buying the ETA when it has a poorer dial (oversized Omega logo) and the exact same case?!

I think it is sick that omega think they can charge what theydo for ther gen straps, i am so glad that our dealers have got the good leather straps and deployments now.

  2. Below is a snipit from trc about the Gran Turismo new release.

Copyed over from TRC, the expanation for the movement

"the gen one is using ETA-A07111 movement and only two watch brands are now using this movement and this movement is not sold to third parties like ETA-2836-2, ETA-770 and other ETA movements. So we can only use A7750 to replicate this, at least I see they are observable same in major ways"

it makes sence, and makes me think about the IWC Big pilot as we were wondering if the valranges ETA-A07111 was being copyed to run in the IWCBP. This one factory is not involved or they may have delayed release of this one untill the movement was ready. I still think that we will see the IWCBP with a modded 7750 ticking away inside it, can our experts confirm if a power reserve can be fitted to a 7750?

I know what the post above says but now we see the centre seconds on a 7750 so that is a step closer so just the PR and the date wheel, oh and also an attempt at increasing the PR of the standard 7750 from 2 days upwards.

I will post this bit also in the Big pilot thread as well.

  4. I like it but would be looking for a proper strap for it withthe screws all the way through or sew one on, also i think that the movement is one with the plates stuck on, dont worry about it i have the raw russian bridges on show on mine and it is fine for me.

  5. I had cause to spend a few weeks living in a field recently and chose to wear my railmastwer for its timekeeping and luminosity, this is the first time i have worn a non quartz for my agresive camping trips due to a few seconds a day being costly, but this one works just fine, i knew it lost 3 sec a day at that point so could account for it (now got it to plus 1, perfect in my view) here is it havong peek at what i was watching.

I would say it fitted the bill perfectly for what i was doing, i just wish it had a date some times.

  6. Ouch. If the lotion left that kind of finish on a painted dial, imagine what it's doing to your skin!!

    :bleh:

The clinique was fine just slow it was the nail varnish that did the damage, i still put it back together and use it as a learning experience, and i even still wear it as it was won on PTs raffle right after joined the boards so has a sort of sentimental value for me.

In fact ubi thanks for the prompt i think i will give it a bit of wrist time.

  7. I did it by accident while trying to remove glue residue on a marina militare dial using clinique clarifying lotion, it removed the varnish from the dial face leaving a dull matt finish that looked a bit older than before, and a bit greyer, it was not removing the glue fast enough so i tried nail varnish romover and found that a bit to harsh and oops!, if i ahd had more patience it would have looked better. :bangin:
