  1. Bent and twisted...... But I like the man! O/S
  2. See this post... I hope it explains what normally happens and what is sometimes happening of late. I think a few guys with scanners have already left for New Year. O/S
  3. Or right here! www.watchbitz.com.au And an extra discount on the price for forum members! Just remember to register, and wait a couple of hours for me to manually set your price. Then you can go through the shopping cart. Offshore
  4. Woody, I normally was seeing in GZ.... In to mail centre, Out of mail centre In to customs, (about 4 days later..) Out of customs In to mail centre (1 day) Out of mail centre. Then a day or so later it would show up on the local PO tracking. They are very quick here, as soon as it shows locally, I see it within 24 hours. My last couple have only shown the first in and out, so obviously they aren't scanning and reporting. Normally for me is 7-10 days, and don't forget our PO are quick this end...24 hours from landing. These are 1/2 tea chest sized cartons, with gen product....I'm shipping 1 or 2 every couple of weeks. So i think the answer to your thread question is, "As long as it takes" Unfortunately. Just keep putting the tracking # in to your local tracking...forget what China is not telling you. O/S
  5. I had some items shipped a week ago, and tracking shows them as not even into customs in GZ yet. About 10 minutes ago they were delivered, and still show as being in GZ. I think the guy with the scanner in GZ, has already left for New Year! Unless you receive notification from your local customs people, i'm guessing it will turn up. O/S
  6. Its BS anyway! No such thing as a virgin in New Zealand! Offshore EDIT. And definetly not a 19YO one!
  7. I'll bow to the experts on that one then! Is the pdf (3315/ETA7750) useful for him Zig? Most are IC? O/S
  8. Looks like a 3313A to me. I have a PDF if you need one. O/S
  9. If such an animal exists, jfreeman will know of it ! O/S
  10. It may be that there are a couple of different issues here, the date issue could just be a matter of the position of the crown on the stem, and the seconds hand may just be slipping/disengaged; and the 2 problems are not related as such. Couldn't agree with Andy more, go for a service and the issues and solutions may become more apparent on disassembly. O/S
  11. You know, we can play this game for the next month....just on brands sold in Oz XXXX ( Australia) Yes! it is a brand. O/S
  12. What about trying some nail polish to coat the links, and then remove it with acetone after the job is finished? May be worth an experiment on an old bracelet. O/S
  13. With heat shrink wrap, you only need the heat to be within a few cms of the wrap to get it to "shrivel" and "wrap" So I'm guessing the answer is yes. If you have a watch with some still attached, take that to a packaging place, and ask them for an equivalent. I also know that 3M put out a blue ,semi transparent protector, which is adhesive based, which is used to wrap s/s (rails and the like) on boats during construction to avoid scratching. Again ask a 3M rep about that product. (See - all those years spent purchasing for boat building sometimes do pay off!) O/S
  14. Wonder if they'll be shipped waterproof? Offshore
  15. I'm guessing its a thin film - heat shrink wrap - style of product. If you have a major 3M (packaging) distributor nearby, that would be my starting point. O/S
  16. Great News BT, Congrats from Down Under. Hope we get to see you from time to time! Offshore

Now there's an old face, good to see you around. Hmmmmm, must have been before my time O/S
  18. @Red, You could give thought to a couple of shallow drawers in the sides, (1 under the shelf) They could be partioned up and down the drawer, to give some small storage areas. One thing I can guarantee, is you will never have enough storage. O/S
  19. Now your cookin' Where did you find the arm rests? O/S EDIT-Found 'em.
  20. Well it sounds suspiciously like our perrenial favourite, the keyless works! Instead of attempting to explain things, can I suggest you type "keyless works" into the search area, top right, and browse through the 27 pages of answers you will find. Somewhere in there I am sure you will get an answer. And if things are still not clear, by all means come back here, and ask again, and we will draft any one of quite a few members who have experienced this same malady (some more than once!) to sort it through for you. Fortunate it is a cheap Asian, as it will now be in for at least a dial removal, so you are lucky that your skill set is about to improve further. I'm actually surprised that this one is not part of Toads Noobs guide? Good luck, and come questioning again, if you need to know more. O/S
  21. Yeh, 1st listings, I agree...hmmmmmm. And he says "will ship from overseas office" ?? Whats that all about? O/S
  22. Worth a look if you are chasing a gen? dial. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Vintage-Dial-Rolex-DOUBLE-RED-SEADWELLER-Ref-1665_W0QQitemZ110488838234QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAU_Watches?hash=item19b9a5e05a#ht_1890wt_958 Check the other listings for this seller. O/S
  23. @Red, May be worth going on to the NAWCC watchmakers forum, and searching bench or work bench. I remember there were some pretty interesting designs, and 1 guy had designed a couple of clip on "outriggers",as bins and plier and screwdriver holders. The Timezone watchmakers forum may have some stuff too. Also think about having a drop sheet attached to the bench, that can spread out onto your lap. (I just drawing pinned a tea towel to the bench and throw it onto my lap as I sit down) You will be amazed at how much you catch! O/S
  24. @Red, If you are going to start building things, I have a piece of flat timber cut to fit exactly on my bench top. To this I have mounted case holder, vices, and a movement holder. When I need to work with one of these, I just take it from beside the desk and put it on the bench top. Saves a bit of clutter. Also makes me clean up again - to get it onto the bench! O/S
