  1. What did you expect? Other addicts telling you to "put the pipe down"? I've obviously not managed impulse control (my want list is almost the size of my signature) and I've been here 3 1/2 years. Enjoy the ride, screw the last 5%, nobody but you will know (and frankly nobody cares and you shouldn't either) and 95% accuracy and 100% utility for less than 10% of the gen price is a real deal. I have watches that I bust out once a month for dinner, at $200-400 a pop it's costume jewelry for men. And my entire collection plus the dozens that I bought and sold (many of which I wish that I still had) cost me less than a single gen of my DW 6265. Pick up the pipe, take another hit - Enjoy!
  2. I really liked my Ferrari 008 PAM but the "poser" aspect finally made me give it to a friend who had Ferrari shit everywhere even though he never came closer than standing beside one in Vegas and getting his picture taken. My Breitling for Bentley was OK but never warmed to it enough to pass up a good trade. Got an AMG Mercedes SL (Quartz) in a rep grab bag auction here and gave it away without even wearing it once. - Guess I don't like the "branded" issue. Bought the Porsche Design Flat six and didn't like it as a watch irregardless of branding. Cars are a different matter. Haven't done English since my XKE and my interests never included Italian. But after several M-series BMWs, AMG Mercedes (including SL55), Lexus and Infinity etc. seems like I always go back to Porsche. My 6th and 7th Porsches are parked in the garage tonight and other than buying newer models I will never own another brand. I drive the shit out of them year round in good weather and bad, snow and worse, I drive them fast and hard, and nothing and I mean nothing compares.
  3. Get a 3717 and get it serviced. Beautiful rep that no one will recognize as a rep. Classic watch and a serviced a7750 is very reliable
  4. Size is not a problem even at 45mm for the UPO. The weight is a problem for some. I have a 7.5 wrist and love the UPO on gen rubber strap. Perfect size and weight with a smooth feel.
  5. Sixx, Sorry to hear that you have medical issues. Hope that you can at least keep some of your hobbies going.
  6. I put a BOB blue sharkskin on a blue dial SA, cinched it one notch too tight for two weeks, and after the strap loosened up it is one of my most comfortable watches. And it gets more compliments than any other of my watches.
  7. W, Wondered when I would see this finished. Nice job. Couldn't live without one, got a blue dial a couple months back. Looking to follow your lead and franken this baby.
  8. In and out of Italy a couple times last year and this year. Customs and Immigration officers all liked my Rep PAM and my Rep Rolex YM, etc. And under a sign on the street in Florence taking about Counterfeit Product Seizures was a great little dealer of high-end quality reps of handbags etc. Not a problem.
  9. Andrew, The genuineness of your gesture and your post are a tribute to you and to this forum. God bless.
  10. I'm disappointed: over 4 pages of setup and still no punchline. Anyway, I seldom do business with the dealers anymore (and fewer and fewer on the boards unless I know them) but without the dealers we are stuck selling the same dozen major reps back and forth to each other. I just assume that they will act in their own financial best interests and us voting with our $ is the only control that we truly have. Warnings/banning for bad (anti forum) behavior is great and I trust the admin team to do their thing as usual. Keep up the good work guys. Just my 1/2 cent
  11. I agree and endorse the rule, no deletions from a sales thread and no changes that amount to a deletion of original info by substitution. I always save the thread as a web archive file up through the posting where I made an offer. That helped me in a dispute but anyone else searching for the original info doesn't have access to that info except me. The rule is good and should not need to be enforced, but definitely enforced if needed.
  12. My "limited" 20 watch box (full) has a pile of watches on the top in the daily rotation. And a dozen or so of the keepers that I wear occasionally in socks in the drawer below. Addicted?
  13. Cartier, my wife loves the roadster worn loosely like a big bracelet.
  14. Ok, Who is in charge of the emoticons? I've gone thru the entire expanded list twice and and no heartfelt teary-eyed emoticon that is appropriate for such a nice post. @hackR - you're not a bad guy yourself. And all thread crapping aside. This is a great community with lots of people that I wish were a little closer than the keyboard :friends: Thanks to you all for making this place what it is.
  15. I thought that the SOH V2 were a thing of the past and that the V2 was powered by an Asian eta clone. I sold one and now regret it. I was offered a new SOH V2 with a "Swiss" movement by a forum member on order from trusted dealer. Did hell freeze over and the factory that made the V2 start up again and add the ETA heart?
  16. Put me on the list for 2 (more if the $ is good)
  17. And just where are you going to get this SOH V2 , Swiss ETA? The V2 came with Asian movements, and there haven't been any available for months and months except on the boards and V2's go very quick (sorry that I sold mine). When I last checked, the cartel boys couldn't fill an order for a V2, any color.
  18. The simple fact that there are no replacement parts for $h!t that falls off or gets banged up. That being said, anybody have access to a replacement crystal for a 287 PAM?
  19. I love my Rollies, PAM's, Breits, etc. But sometimes it needs to be something (anything) else. Should have been in day light with a shot of the bracelet too.
  20. hike, She's baaaack, thanks F. - made my day!
  21. hike's my hero so a little Daytona action for me tonight too
