  1. How I would love to come across that sitting on the ice while out walking in snow-shoes! Very nice indeed!
  2. I like the date mag on it... wait, there is none, maybe that's extra!
  3. Thanks for the suggestions... did some silicone on the bezel and outside of crystal... no dice. The ID of the crystal is good... it pretty much just snapped on with just the right feeling of force. I'd rather reduce the OD of the crystal if it's possible to do without marring it. Don't really want to sand the bezel in case I decide to franken it down the road and then find the bezel not snug enough with a Gen 116 on it. In light of that, what would be the best way to thin out the OD of the crystal and not having it look like someone took 330 grit to it?
  4. Well... did my first ever crystal swap and it was on the Josh 1655. New Clark 116 crystal looks great... one problem, I can't seem to get the bezel back on. No matter what I try, by hand or using a big die on my crystal press, it seems to sink on one side making it impossible to make it flush around the rest of it. Is there a technique I am missing somewhere... or is it an incompatibility issue?
  5. Thanks to Chi's little tutorial.. I'm running a 2846 in my 1655 now, with the 24H locked. The hand alignments are not dead on, but pretty close. Only thing is the 2846 I put in doesn't have a hack lever. Do all Gen 1655's hack or are they a mixed bag?
  6. Either Andrew or Josh can do shipping *within* EU now... so no worries about Customs issues. Looks decent... probably from Noob factory, but I am no GMT expert.
  7. Thanks for the info and the 2836-2846 Tute!
  8. Chi, Not to threadjack... but how did you get the bezel off? Have one inbound that I want to swap out the crystal for a Clark, wish I could afford the gen crystal... but have no idea how I will get that bezel off. Thanks!
  9. If it hasn't been repped... it should... looks great!
  10. AFAIK the out of the box cyclops is way underpowered.
  11. Thanks for the answer regarding crystal replacement... I'm too poor for a Gen crystal, so I'll grab a Clark for now.
  12. Were you able to replace the crystal without complete disassembly... or did you have to de-case the movement?
  13. Looking for a set of sword hands to fit a DG2813. Found one place that sells them online for $22... a little pricey for a "budget" project. The existing ones on this project don't match the baked lume. Lume on the dial turned orangey... and the hands I couldn't do anything with, except for tea... which made this earthy brown. Don't like the color combo! Any good sources for these hands?
  14. The smudge on the endlink is on the plastic... you can see more of it on the 3rd pic.
  15. Nice! What's the going price on these now?
  16. Justin, any chance you can offer up a similar kit in silver/SS?
  17. Nice project... great work as always Chi!
  18. Wonder what happened to the rest of the watch?
  19. According to the Inflation Calculator at http://www.westegg.com/inflation/ using 1965 as the base says this So me thinks Rolex is doing a little gouging these days.
  20. Should be no secrets in this game.
  21. There is always this chap on iOffer.. http://www.ioffer.com/i/rolex-tudor-submariner-9411-snow-flake-166380895 But as someone pointed out, these say OYSTER PRINCE when they should really say PRINCE OYSTERDATE.
  22. Saw someone on RG use a Cousins crystal... looked good. Though I have no idea how it compares with a Gen 116.
  23. I'll bite... $300 from where?
  24. I was reading about the 2836/2846 part swap... I've worked on both and they are pretty much the same movement. Brought a bunch of old 2836's and 2846's back to life with donor parts from both.
