I don't know why people think fooling AD salespeople has any merit. As stated above, most don't know enough to differentiate. Those that do are usually tactful and won't risk saying anything disparaging. Why risk losing a sale by calling a potential client out on a rep? I think the "fooling" aspect might be fun to some in the beginning, but it wears off quickly.

I also have both and am a big Omega fan. Unfortunately, the GMT dial leaves something to be desired. The lume is strikingly green. People at work call it my "green watch." I've seen and worn the genuine and the lume is almost snowy white. I've been looking for a genuine dial replacement - hands too. Also, the GMT hand is touchy. I have to put the stem in "neutral park" to get it to track correctly. This involves resetting the date each time the GMT hand is manually moved. Even then, the GMT hand starts to lose time over a period of days. People have mentioned drag problems and potential glue fixes, but that's not something I would attempt on my own.

Looks like the sun dial is deflated.

I always liked "SHITNERLAND" or "[censored] IN HER HAND" as those reps are affectionately known.

Nice review, but I'm pretty certain this in an attempt at replicating the Professional Moonwatch and not the "Reduced." Despite, the subdial spacing (which the Venus/Lemania can't get right for the Professional), everything else indicates this is a Professional Moonwatch replica. Most notably, the word "Professional" on the dial (instead of automatic), the stick hour markers and 3-9 subdial markings are much closer to the professional. All of these are different, or absent, on the "reduced" version. Professional Moonwatch Reduced Moonwatch Seems they could make a reasonable replica of the "reduced" version - yet probably do not b/c of it's reasonable price point. The killer for me has always been the display back. While many variations existed, I'd sure love to hide that obviously incorrect movement.

Yeah, I've been to three or four different eye docs (including an ophthalmologist) over the past decade and all were hesitant to get it for themselves. They say there's still not enough long-term data, and the technology is getting much better (so they'll wait). What's going to happen when these early adopters get old? Other major considerations beside astigmatism are pupil size (mine are huge), and prescription stability (mine always gets worse). Many "successful" data patients still require corrective lenses - just less strength. Personally, I'm afraid of the permanent halo effect which seems to afflict those with large pupils. A friend of mine was an early lasik patient and can't drive at night because every light become Saturn.

"Perfect" is fine if you want to come across as a used car salesman. Dealers have ever right to use that term, and we have every right to not buy from those dealers. I think it's a regrettable choice. While I understand the true meaning, I tend to shy away from dealers who take that marketing approach. Why not market these watches as "Upgraded" or "Modified." After all, that's what the after market watch gurus do these watches. Clear or obvious is a word I don't use much, but these reps are clearly/obviously not "perfect."

Waiting for the 22mm lug version. While TTKs PO is awesome, I think 20mm looks a bit thin on such a big watch.

I have to agree that I we need PG rated avatars and sig lines. My wife doesn't really care, but I do check the site at work from time to time. An Asian with a huge rack doesn't go over well with the paralegals.

I've always been partial to the Venus/Lemania Speedmaster. Apart from the inherent shortcomings of that movement with three subdials, the replica is pretty darn accurate. The fly in the ointment for me is the display back: borrowing one of TTK's great pictures. Is there an aftermarket genuine or rep caseback that will cover this obviously incorrect movement? The original doesn't even have a display back, so I'm not sure why the rep factories continue to pump them out like this. Any thoughts?
