  1. thanks for the link jjfesq... ... I have not dealt with him before, but have heard good comments from friends outside of forum..his DRSD dial however is not good.. Flex
  2. PP - I feel sorry for you. I've been in the same situation. ended up spending more moeny and the watch ended up in my tool box.
  3. I'm very lucky in a sense that all my Vj 72 cases have thick lug width
  4. That's strange. This is the 2 yrs old version of Vj 23.. See pic Vj 23 case (DW) the other one I have at home has thicker lugs Not very good pics. I need to take some good pics side by side to show the difference in thickness..
  5. Beautiful......I would silicon seal the T-21 (if you haven't) and do the crown/tube mod
  6. i have a slightly different opinon, if I may given that you have the whole watch.. i would suggest you rebuild that watch to its orginal state instead of taking the movement out of that poor watch. After you change the crown back to original gold crown, you will get a nice TT datejust and will be able to sell it on 2nd hand market. If you use that money, you can always build 1-2 very good frankens. Personally, I prefer to build a franken with gen dial, gen bezel, gen bracelet and use a swiss ETA movement..but that's just imo. except probably something that requires a GMT movement. Flex
  7. Tomorrow I will be flying back home. Have travelled from HK > Singapore > Hanoi > Saigon > Hanoi > Singapore > Hong Kong for the past 3 weeks... ... still in Singapore as we speak. Will try to post some interesting pics. Mainly taken in Vietnam. will post full shop name & address ( i have taken notes in my smartphone as I travel. I will post detailed info when I post the pics.) Singapore Mainly window shopping for me. I found some interesting 1675, subbies etc... 1. People's Park Complex China town 2/F (vintage gen) 2. Golden Landmark Shopping Center (vintage gen, rolex parts, dials) be careful of franken/ hot watches in the above places (demanding for gen prices) Vietnam Saigon (Opposite Sheraton Saigon) Minh Quy (cheaper than NDtrading) Bich Lien Omega S300 @ $350 Franken Tudor Monte Carlo e.g. 7159/0, 9420/0 Franken Daytona 6263 @$2,500 Franken Explorer 1655 @$3,500 Blancpain Fifty Fathoms (both bigger/ smaller bezel version) @ $350 as for myself, I bought some cases and dials/hands etc (e.g. 1655, 1680) from Minh Quy...I picked up a 6265 SS bezel from Mihn Quy for $30 when Phong was selling this very same item for $450... when you are in Vietnam, forget abt Phong or NDtrading and their pricing.. their factories are all based in Viet. I'll be doing some serious shopping next biz trip. safe travels & enjoy. PS: when you are in Hanoi,be careful with some motorbikes - the locals tell me that some bikers will grap your bags or wallets from behind. Use Airport Taxi. I will be able to give you some safe taxi company numbers once i get home. forget abt reps in Hanoi unless you are into Chinese reps.
  8. I like Vj 72 case because of the thicker lugs..
  9. RSC confiscated hot watches only and non-genuine parts on genuine Rolex.
  10. too busy with works and travel. Been away from home for 3 weeks+. Not officially selling it. too many parts at home. just want to kick myself in Jan 09 to start off with the 1675 project.
  11. I have a working HEV Vietnamese DRSD case in case anyone is interested.
  12. I'd go for GMT and Seadweller - because they tend to stand out a little from the other Rolex............ I would also go for a used Explorer II black dial...
  13. Designer items..supposed to have a fake Rolex inside - $275 - just amazed me when I see these in person today can buy an Ipod or something at that price..
  14. looks very nice......good works
  15. Noel - I am sure you know - but remember to check the watch with RSC before paying them $. I have personally seen alot of papered Rolex which were bulit at someone's home.
  16. Beautiful watches.........very good taste
  17. Thanks everyone for their comments! yeah you guys are right..I am going insane!
  18. Freddy, avitt, symbebekos - i am still deciding as to which company I should be sending my dial for refinishing. Just for reference, when i showed these companies with the pic of my watch. Universal quoted me $400 (very reasonable I think) whereas Kirk quoted me $350. Michael Young just advised me to get a service dial from RSC Hong Kong as he believes it will bring down the value of my vintage rolex. regards Flex
  19. in fact the dial was fitted for 3 minutes and i had it taken out from the watch ( i know it is not what I am going to wear).. see better pics in here the dial and hands do cost me fair bit of money..
  20. yes,,, this is exactly what I am going to do.. i have a gen dial lying around in the tool box back home.. Ariana (Universal watch) quoted me $400 for the complete refinishing job. Rlex Gen bracelet, NOS hands
  21. no, too late. just left Vietnam today...sorry. i would have got 1 if i saw this message earlier. perhaps you may consider honpo's 6238 http://www.etayahonpo.jp/?mode=cate&cb...id=1&sort=n that's the only suggestions i have for now.
