  1. This is from BBC Sport about McClaren: WTF?! Who thought that? Certainly nobody within fifteen feet of Alex Ferguson. Is this the same man who lost 7-0 to Arsenal, 4-0 to Aston Villa this season?! Tactical brains?!
  2. 1966? Did anything happen in 1966?! They should have mentioned it sooner! (I'm a complete hypocrite - clinging (drunkenly, while wallowing in self-pity during the Berti era) to events over seven hundred years ago). We had to go through exactly the same spiel at the last World Cup with Beckham's foot injury; the journalists have only had to rearrange a few lines and perhaps add the words 'fat', 'pies', 'who', 'ate', 'all', 'the'. Hopefully he will recover in time for at least one, critical knock-out match. After all, that's one hell of a temper he has on him.....
  3. On a serious note.... Can I give my heartfelt, and straight-faced, congratulations to the English FA upon their appointment of Steve McLaren. (Only three million pounds a year? I would have thought six or seven at least) I look forward to many, many happy footballing moments over the coming weeks and years....
  4. You take the ever-so-simple Australian system of a Qualifying Final, followed by an Elimination Final, followed by a Semi-Final, followed by a Preliminary Final, followed by a Grand Final.....and give it to a Swiss person. Voila! UEFA co-efficients.
  5. Happy days down Gorgie way, eh? Congratulations! Could have been first place with George perhaps? And much fun in the Hearts saga for the summer no doubt - expect to see Paul Gascoigne as new Technical Director (would you be that surprised?!!) Actually, Champions League should make it possible to recruit some European class players. I may be wrong, but has the position not now guaranteed Gretna European football, while at the same time denying Hibs (or 4th place)? Gretna in Europe is the stuff of 'Roy of the Rovers'-type fantasies (like when Raith played Bayern Munich, and Bayern are busy looking for Raith on a map), but it's probably not so great for the old UEFA co-efficient.
  6. You're right - it's a gorgeous, interesting watch. Good work!!
  7. Feel like a kid in a sweety shop! Thanks again!
  8. Fascinating - thank you! Opens up a world of possibilities A couple of links: Main Sea-gull website (Chinese) English website - also check out the finished watches they also sell - very interesting English Sea-gull website Movements Watches
  9. I should clarify - the original pics looks funny, regardless of where they came from.
  10. Just a personal opinion, but I think this guy has gone a bit mental in Photoshop. There's just something iffy about all the pics.
  11. ...or trying to roar up to a Hell's Angel convention on this....
  12. This is all a nice warm up for the main event this summer.... ....yes, I'm talking about the Scottish Cup final. C'mon Gretna!
  13. Aye, but a few of those players have retired....
  14. Poor little West Ham. It's like pitting a hamster against a tiger. And then have everyone pick on the hamster...
  15. Exactly - why I suspected that they guy himself didn't really know too much about it. Even so, he must have suspected. Item has been since been cancelled BTW.
  16. Glad you made the effort though! Rushing is the difficult bit, but the adventure is the fun bit! I've been to this area of Bangkok before - all the talk of your plans made me hunger for another visit! You're right though. You've got to be canny on the street and in the markets - suffice it to say that they always saw you coming - and they're great at what they do (fleece you). This applies in a lot of stores in the Far East, not just when buying reps (tailors, electrical stores, 'antiques' - any tourist trap). The dealers take that crap on your behalf!
  17. [Oh god - you had me worried there about what kind of picture you were about to put up!! A horse...or a shower!!]
  18. Incredibly, the suburb he lives in doesn't even have a McDonalds....
  19. Yeah, all the best brands plastic wrap their watches these days - keeps 'em fresh! I'm not sure that the seller hasn't been a little bit stooged himself - seems to sell an interesting array of "antique" crap (sort of antiques Steptoe and Son might keep!). Don't mind this though: NSW Fire Helmet - Might help me look more refined down at Woolworths.... BTW: if anyone ever wants to find the guy - he probably looks a wee bit like this:
  20. hehe... "Taking your rep Rolex to fool an expert is a bit like..." ....telling a stable girl you're hung like a horse!
