  1. Thanks alligoat. I might just order one of these up from Josh. I really like the look of this classic, and I neeeeeeeed another for the display box. And again, thanks to newbie symbebekos for kicking this thread off. Great start!!!
  2. Arty.. that is one great looking vintage rep. Why have I missed this model all this time? I need to get me one of these!
  3. Hey Freddy, this is one rollie model I have never considered. It looks good. Can you elaborate on the build quality of the version from Josh? I feel I need one of these to add to my vintage collection! BTW thanks to new member symbebekos for pointing out a really great looking vintage rep to an old hand.
  4. Hey guys, just back from 2 weeks in the sun in Portugal (brilliant!). To pick this thread up again...... @chief360.... your B-1 has the digi display that I thought I was getting (and as was shown in the dealer pick). I would have been quite happy with the Aerospace rep (for the money) if only it had had that display. Don't suppose you want to sell it on do you? I am sure I could transplant one to the other with a little luck. @chrgod.... yes, the case back has the conversion graph, but in the middle of the back, is some cr*p about Bentley Motors Special Edition. They have hidden the pushers by using the small indented ones (you know, the type you have to use the tip of a ball point pen to operate), which I have not seen on other reps of this model. I love your Aerospace BTW. I really lust after the painted italic numeral version. Bet you're pleased with it! @faulex.... well, you have to laugh at yourself, once in a while. Brings you back down to earth.
  5. Yes, I thought that, right up until I opened it for the second time, and the hinge broke!
  6. Good luck with your wait. I had an uncomfortable 4 days whilst my latest order sat in customs. You must be going off your trolley! Keep us informed.
  7. Yep..... It set me back $120. Crap... $120 for a box and a watch that looks like it fell out of a Christmas cracker! Be warned my friends! Stick to those you know!
  8. OK.... like many here, I have been searching for a half decent rep of the Breitling Aerospace. For those of you who aren't familiar with this model, here is a pic of the model I lust after Ok, Ok, quartz, but none the less a beauty, I think you will agree. Well I tried asking Narikaa to search one out for me during his last trip to the Far East. But no luck. I half expected this, because talk here on RWG and RG often tells of the absence of such a rep. Something with not being able to replicate the digital displays correctly, I believe. Anyhow.... I was trawling through one of those 'other' sites and came across a near passable rep. Not bad, I thought, displays look good, with black background and large light digits. Dial is ok I suppose.....good enough, so what the hell, take the plunge. So after a week or so, I had a nervous wait of 4 days, whilst my package was held in customs. Tracking then confirmed that it was on the way home, and with eager anticipation, I took delivery of the parcel the very next day following release. After tearing at the wrappings I uncovered a lovely yellow Breitling box, with that attractive silver lettering I opened the outer box to find a luxuriant bakelite box inside This is too good to be true, I thought. As there are instrutions and hang tag too! Now, in anticipation, I extracted the bakelite case from the safety of the lovely yellow outer box With excitement building I opened the case There it was, just as I had hoped HANG ON!!!! WTF!!! WHAT A COMPLETE AND UTTER POS!!! Nothing like the photo. Complete disappointment. Waste of hard earned cash! I should have taken the fact that Narikaa couldn't find a decent rep as a warning. And I stress that this POS is NOTHING AT ALL TO DO WITH HIM!!! I somehow knew that I would not get what was pictured, but didn't even listen to my own conscience. So as you have guessed it, the moral of the story here is better stick with dealers you can trust. And if it looks too good to be true, it usually is! I'm going down the pub!
  9. Awsome speedy scr! Have it loaded on my laptop. What a great incentive to do nothing for a while!
  10. Gorgeous pair TMG..... just love these two!
  11. Damn..... that's good advice, foggyhome.... the best you will get! Just ask around, there's plenty of help to be had.
  12. Manitou, you have a passion! There are one or two of those pieces, that I must have in my own collection! Congrats!
  13. @watcher ..... good luck with yours! @nikos ...... does this mean that yours has cleared customs and is on the way home?
  14. Excellent!! Keep us updated. I have one on the way to me (fingers crossed).
  15. Looks like a beaut! Factory fresh ?!?
  16. Looks good for 100 euros. Crown guards could do with a little work. But, wear it and enjoy it. That's what it is all about!
  17. OK, maybe not a wristcheck, but awwwwwww
  18. Your attempts look good. What software have you used, and how have you printed these out? I have tried using Autocad and a 600dpi laserjet, but your datewheel looks a lot crisper!
  19. Gotta be one of my favs. A cheapie 5508 from Silix, having been given a once over.
  20. I have found that a replacement from Cousins UK (although needs gluing in) makes a great improvement over the original fitted in the rep. It stands taller in the case, and has a far superior date mag. It will fit the "Top Grade" vintage ETA model from Trusty, but does need sanding down slightly to get the right look. A great improvement (IMHO). Cousins ref for the cyclops is C8503
  21. It's father's day all year round for me. Surrounded my my two beautiful daughters, and loving wife. What more could a man want! At least that is what my wife tells me.
  22. FABULOSO! What a great review! Can't wait to have a go myself.
  23. @dluddy....gotta agree with BT, that's one great looking 1655! These models seem to have had a sudden resurgence in popularity. Let me know when you are fed up with it, and want to move it one
  24. Gotta get some pics up UncleJay, just as soon as it arrives. Can't wait to see the results!
