  1. Date position rarely causes a problem, it's the location of the subdials, esp the running seconds dial, that causes problems.

Also, the gen image is retouched (probably in Photoshop), the rep is a regular photo.

You wouldn't expect the colors to match even if it was the same watch.

Colours in Josh's photos are never that reliable anyhow...

  2. I agree with Col. My $99 fiddy is an excellent example. It's within a whisker of being as good a rep as my 'ultimate' 111h, but only cost a third of the price.

The cheapies are definitely getting waaaaay better....

BTW - wearing my Tag RS8 today. I really like this watch even though it wears rather small for 43.5mm. Keeps good time too. Ridiculously good for less than

  3. HAHA.. "booblet"... well she's only my girlfriend now, but I'm glad you appreciate the pic.. as I get better at the artistic human form photography thing, I'll post more :)

    love the photobug pic.. lol

Btw, here is the last pic I have taken with the G9, as it is all boxed up and ready to sell now (if someone would just buy the damn thing!).... my new toy....

Nice piece of kit you have there, SA! I've had a D50 for a couple of years and have been very tempted to upgrade...

  4. have you had any news on your SLR from j9 ?

i have not had any email yet and its a few days since i payed for it

Nope - not heard anything yet. j9 doesn't always remember to inform of despatch, though, so I'm not bothered. I'd expect our watches to arrive toward the end of next week, or maybe sometime the week after.

  5. Does this mean that the replica and genuine have interchangeable parts (bezel, crystal, etc)?

    Or that dimensions are identical?

I couldn't find the answer elsewhere.

It depends on the rep. No hard and fast rules on this one, but a lot of them are just labeled that way because they're the same dimensions etc.

  6. Wanna sell your smaller one Greg?

May do when the new one arrives. I'll post on here about it if so.

There's always the possibility that my missus may have plans for it - she's got 4 watches herself (3 gens, 1 rep), with another one on the way (she doesn't know about that, though).... ;)

  7. Agree.. Started with a 5 watch box.. "Well I will stop when full".. now with a 12 watch box "ahh.. I will never fill that" and now both are full and Looking for something bigger that I will surely not fill! I swear

All mine come from AceTimer.. Good price/Quality/Strange smell :p

My wife has just announced that she's bought me a 40-capacity box for my birthday next month (and only told me that because I was looking at boxes on eBay and she was afraid I'd buy another one).

    40!!!!

She's refused to show me a photo, so I'll have to wait to see how it is, but she says it's gorgeous...

    My missus officially rocks. :D

  8. Sorry, AD, but I'm with John here. Kurtz' reasoning is self-referential and his argument is circular. He provides no evidence for his findings other than his belief in his own point of view. On that aspect alone, one can only discount what he says.

My personal view is that if the institution of marriage cannot survive the belief that love itself is all that really matters, then it is a sick bird indeed and probably not worth saving. Needless to say, I do not belive that this is the case.

  9. Thanks trailboss.. I got the Hamilton from a guy on Timezone... $220 and in mint condition, sticker still on the back, original papers from AD dated July 2008! REAL sapphire crystal, REAL Swiss ETA movement, REAL gen quality... at a bargain price. I consider it an amazing value. Only problem is the strap is *slightly* too long for my 6.25" wrist. So I'm gonna have to add another hole or find a short strap to replace it... kind of sucks because I like the original strap a lot.

@JohnG-- I wouldn't say I prefer RG.. I post more there in part because the rapid-fire pace of the site lends itself to me spouting my opinions when I see a post fly by that tickles me in some way. If anything I check RWI most often. But I'll start making the RWG2 Bin one of my routine stops... I miss you guys. I kind of miss the ridiculous medication and porn spam threads, too.. lol

The Hamilton sounds like a real find. Wear it well!

I know what you mean about the spam threads - along with a lot of the other nonsense. I know we can act up a bit here too, but it's not quite the same .... :p
