  1. Yup - as we figured, that's the same version as a friend brought back from Shenzhen for me a few months back. Darned good for a cheapie - I wear mine quite a bit. Even the strap is good. The only downsides are the non-adjustable GMT dial and the fact that the date advances all the way to 39! ;) Still, who cares at that price?

    Enjoy! :)

  2. Okay, Hijacking my thread back...

The insurance company has confirmed that they are rejecting the claim for my car. "Act of God", they're calling it. Therefore I've just got my own insurance company involved - wish I'd done so at the beginning, as these guys believe in customer service.

Anyhow, I'm getting yet another courtesy car next week. They're taking my own car away on Tuesday and have promised to give me a final decision on whether they will repair it or write it off within 14 days. Because they will be taking action against the original insurance company, they've warned me that it might take a while to get the financial side sorted out, but so long as I know for sure they're going to write off my existing car (and have taken it off the road - it's still sitting at my place, so still has to be insured and taxed), I can go buy a Benz and haggle the toss with them later.

I'm beginning to believe I might actually have the worst of this sorted out by the end of this month. Wish me luck!

  3. Glad you got my PM. I'm here under another name, but who cares...

Gosh, you talking watches... We here talking mostly boobies, sheeps, goats, politics and insulting each other.

    Welcome back, SA.

Nobody knows, what's happened with RWG, but we hope one day we'll get it back.

Do you know, how to find iabounty and demisgod?

    We miss 'em.

I got in touch with iabounty some time back, but he hasn't shown up, unfortunately. He does know where we are, though...

I know we've said hi elsewhere since RWG1 went down, but good to see you in our 'home away from home' here in the bin, SA :D

  4. Hello all, I am new, I came across this website and have been corresponding with him

via regular email. He accepts Paypal, which is a plus.

But what gets me worried is his prices for Gen ETA 2836 Rolex GMTII

and Explorer II are only $250 with free shipping form Ghangzouh.

The cheapest GEN ETA powered GMT/EXP2 I have found form our trusted

sellers is around $300 plus 30 for shipping.

Is this guy false advertising or is he just beating the competition?

It was not necessary to post this thread twice - multiple postings of this kind can lead to suspicion that you are, in fact, associated with the owner of the web site and are trying to drum up business. See my reply to your other post.

I wouldn't trust any dealer who posts photos of gens purporting to be the watches he or she sells. Looks very fishy. My recommendation is to avoid like the plague.

Stick to the dealers recommended on the various rep watch boards. It's all too easy to lose your dough or be fobbed off with street junk at high prices. Ask anyone who's been in this hobby for a while - most of us have made that mistake at least once.

In all seriousness, the best policy is always to assume that it's a scam unless you find strong evidence to the contrary (i.e. info from others who have successfully bought from them)

  6. According to the description on dealer websites, the $150 japanese quartz version is essentially the same as the $300+ A7750 version - i.e. uses the same case, strap and AR-coated sapphire crystal, etc. Is it true? Sounds like an amazing deal, especially considering the fact that the version with swiss quartz movement (no idea why anybody would want it) is $360.

Hunt around and you'll probably find it cheaper than that. However, don't be mislead - whilst the case, strap etc may be the same on some of these quartz reps, the dial generally isn't - usually subdial spacing is a little off due to the different layout of the quartz movt vs. the 7750.

Having said that, they're often darned good nevertheless. Ultimately, it's going to depend on how anal you are about accuracy vs. the gen - I have a couple of quartz reps myself (AP / Tag) and they're quite convincing to all but a fellow watch nut. I haven't seen the Porsche in person, but the photos certainly look pretty good.

  7. Pt looks like a great site (no prices though, i guess i'll mail them and ask)

i have been assured by Josh at perfect clones that he's never had a problem with customs when shipping to uk (and he also seems to be held in pretty high regard on here)

    still confused!!

will have to wait and see what the prices are like from precious time

its going to probably be 3 or 4 watches (definately a Graham, a Chanel J12 for my girlfriend and at least 1 PAM )

    happy times! B)

    Dan

    Welcome!

PT's great, as is Chris from Eurotimez, but here in the UK we're lucky to have no problems importing our reps (although it's a good idea to keep it down to one or two watches per order - no point in inviting trouble). Personally, I've ordered from Josh, Ruby and several other reputable watch dealers based in China / Malaysia / Thailand without any problems whatsoever, so you can feel fairly safe ordering from whoever takes your fancy.
