  1. ....aaaaand your point is....? Good plan
  2. Not terribly into high-speed motorised processions. Was watching the Japanese rally earlier though My purchase was more on the basis that I'm intending to buy a Benz soon.....
  3. Lazy sods Linkage: http://www.cqout.com/item.asp?id=4021501 Yes, it's quartz. The good bit, however, is that it's 45mm Yup - I managed to slow down for a month or so, but I'm back to my old habits. Already decided on my next buy, although I shall try to hold off until the end of the month. The recent TTK buy was rather unexpected, but just too good a deal to pass up - especially as I was looking for a Cartier watch for the missus =]
  4. As I mentioned in the recent 'cheapies' thread I ordered a cheapie Breit SOH from jiuli9 via CQout last week. Got an email this morning to say that it wasn't in stock - would I like to switch my order to something else? If it had been an expensive rep, I might have requested a refund, but given there's a long list of cheapies that have caught my eye, I thought I'd just pick one of the others. Anyhow, I decided to go for a Tag SLR. The only problem being that it's about 30% more expensive. I replied to the email saying I'd take the SLR and to let me know how they wanted me to pay the extra - paypal, WU, whatever. I just got a reply. No extra charge - they'll let me have the SLR for the price of the SOH! Jiuli9 has just climbed several places up my list of favourite dealers. Always a pleasure to do business with them - even more so this time. This is what I've ordered:
  5. LOL Sinowatches spam efforts must be working well, is my guess I'd be very wary of sites that do not accept credit cards or paypal unless they're well known to the members of the various watch boards. Western Union / Moneygram are good ways of losing your money if you're not careful - there are a lot of scammers out there. Take a look at the dealers listed in the "Links" section above - they're all reliable and will supply you with a decent watch AND after-sales service if you need it.
  6. Well, I've had an email (very friendly and VERY comprehensive) from TTK with payment details and have sent him the dough, so we'll see what happens. I'm really showing signs of demented optimism as I've also opted for the free shipping! I feel this strange zen-like sense of calmness coming over me...
  7. I knew there was a reason why I didn't care for Hublot watches... Football.... ZZZZZZZzzzzzzz
  8. Are you still in Marbella? Damn it, man - you need to get home and claim your new toys! Looking forward to seeing your pics btw - it sounds like you did real well. TTK's two-for-one offer is almost too good to pass up. I'm seriously tempted - especially after that Repgeek thread you posted the other day. I like the way he handles himself in that kinda situation - seems like someone I'd get along with Soo.... without further ado..... I've just sent him an email ordering two watches. OMG! (ordered a SDDS + Cartier Santos for the Missus).
  9. We just put the usual sign on the front door: "Trick or treaters will be killed and eaten" We had a quiet evening. Works every time. (yes, I'm kidding - although I do think it's sad that the UK seems to have imported 'trick or treat' from the US at the expense of our own 5th November 'penny for the Guy' tradition, which has all but disappeared. Shame.)
  10. Although they're in the US, Acetimer are probably the best for the cheaper boxes. You'll pay almost as much for the shipping as for the box, but they're nice quality and still end up working out cheaper than the majority of boxes you'll find in the EU. They have a website: www.acetimer.com, but the easiest way to buy from them is via eBay - do a user search for Acetimer. I have one of their 10 capacity boxes and am very happy with it - planning to pick up another one (and probably a winder) shortly.
  11. lol - it's a disease I've been wearing my Fiddy most of the week, but I'm on my 111 today. Not the pictured strap, though, as I've got it on a gen rubber strap atm. Already searching for my next Panerai - a 113, I think
  12. Full-length elephant porno for John:
  13. Absolutely stunning. A real thing of beauty... Awesome pics too
  14. 1. I'm not the one that bumped it. 2. Same thing you are
  15. LOL - I only just noticed, but that thread is from 2006. How on earth it popped up this morning, I really don't know, but it looks like a noob was doing a little archeology... Still funny, though =]
  16. Just in case any of you guys miss it, you gotta read this thread: http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showto...mp;#entry557846 First post is one of the funniest things I've read on here in a while - especially given that I know exactly how he feels. His follow-up post later in the thread is just as funny. When RWG1 is back up, this guy needs to be a member....
  17. deleted. Only just noticed how old this thread is. Methinks someone has been doing a little 'Internet archeology' *directs stern look at TimeOut*
  18. This explains a lot. That's not God you're talking to, it's Yoda!
  19. Tempting idea. My problem is that this whole mess has to go through our Estate Manager here, who is responsible for managing our company insurance policies and claims (given that there's also a company vehicle to claim on too). Sadly he is, frankly, not staying on top of the issue, which is, I suspect, the reason why the insurance company are on a go-slow. Blood will flow before long. Soo.... I shall use the ass-rape with rebar ploy with him instead. That'll work.
