  1. hehe - nope. The missus wouldn't be happy about posting that kinda thing on here, and I wouldn't feel right doing it even if she never found out. Wedding photos of the first time around have been ceremonially torn up, burned and the ashes boiled in acid...
  2. Yes, we are, Oscar - here's proof: enjoy!
  3. Sure. First wife: ... at least, that was HER side of the story My side of the story was that I was too busy ducking low-flying junk to take pics..... Pics of the watchbox when I get it in December
  4. uh no - just a joke. I'm not quite that silly. Although... when my Fiddy turned up on Monday, the wife looked at me and said "how many does that make now?". I told her "10". She rolled her eyes. I told her: "before you roll your eyes at me any more, I have just one word to say to you... Shoes." Fortunately, she laughed She also offered to buy me a bigger watch box for my birthday.... Seriously, I'm lucky, my wife doesn't pull that kinda nonsense - we've never even had a big argument. My first wife, however, was a different story (which is why she's my 'first wife' not my 'current wife' )
  5. It was in the 'what car are you driving' thread. MGI posted a photo of himself leaning on a Ferrari, and that's where it all started to go wrong: http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showto...mp;#entry551718 It was nothing like as rough as we sometimes get with each other, but most of us are sufficiently thick-skinned to know it's in fun.
  6. I never quite figured out why the urge of men and women differ so much. And I never have figured out the whole Venus and Mars thing. I have never figured out why men think with their head and women with their heart. FOR EXAMPLE: One evening last week, my girlfriend and I were getting into bed. Well, the passion starts to heat up, and she eventually says, 'I don't feel like it, I just want you to hold me.' I said, 'WHAT??!! What was that?!' So she says the words that every boyfriend on the planet dreads to hear... 'You're just not in touch with my emotional needs as a woman enough for me to satisfy your physical needs as a man.' She responded to my puzzled look by saying, 'Can't you just love me for who I am and not what I do for you in the bedroom?' Realizing that nothing was going to happen that night, I went to sleep. The very next day I opted to take time off of work to spend the whole day with her. We went out to a nice lunch and then went shopping at a big, big flashy department store. I walked around with her while she tried on several different very expensive outfits. She couldn't decide which one to take, so I told her we'd just buy them all. She wanted new shoes to compliment her new clothes, so I said, 'Lets get a pair for each outfit.' Then we went on to the jewellery department where she picked out a pair of diamond earrings. Let me tell you... she was so excited. She must have thought I had lost my marbles. I started to think she was testing me because she asked for a tennis bracelet when she doesn't even know how to play tennis...... I think she almost went mad with ecstasy when I said, 'That's all fine, honey.' She was almost nearing total and complete satisfaction from all of the excitement. Smiling with excited anticipation, she finally said, 'I think this is all dear, let's go to the cashier.' I could hardly contain myself when I blurted out, 'No honey, I don't feel like it.' Her face just went completely blank as her jaw dropped with a baffled, 'WHAT?' I then said, 'Honey! I just want you to HOLD this stuff for a while. You're just not in touch with my financial needs as a man enough for me to satisfy your shopping needs as a woman.' And just when she had this look like she was going to kill me, I added, 'Why can't you just love me for who I am and not for the things I buy you?' Apparently we're not doing it again tonight.................
  7. sheer class: one of my all time favourite plays and an amazing movie too (major Mamet fan here btw, as I think I may have mentioned before). By the way, did you know that Mamet was behind the TV series "The Unit"? Most of the episodes not officially written by him, but he's obviously been fiddling with most of 'em - there's some classic Mamet dialogue here and there. We're currently watching season 3 on DVD. Bloody good.
  8. Tell the truth... you're going to be posting photos of suhweeet widdle kittehs soon, aintcha? :D No argument about goats vs firebug, however
  9. Given that I'm inordinately fond of espresso, I think maybe I ought to buy one
  10. RWG1: The only place where being called a bloody sh*thead can be considered a compliment :D
  11. Don't even think about comparing me to that 12 year-old shitstain. There will be blood.
  12. Would like it better without the fire hydrant bolted to the side of it.... Dial looks great, though.
  13. ROFLMAO! Pugwash is gonna be after you for stealing his material..... bloody funny, though
  14. Tony's okay - I've bought from him several times. I'd suggest you check his new site at www.watcheden.com, however (which was set up for his RWI customers). Some of the prices are a little lower and there's a $20 discount voucher available (see top right of the page). He also has a storefront on CQout, and occasionally prices are lower there, too...
  15. Thanks, Col. Panerais are one of those 'love 'em or hate 'em deals, I guess. Personally, I can't get enough of 'em Prestige Watch Co (he's a dealer at RG - is also at RWI as Time4direct). He's also got an ioffer storefront. He does a pretty good range, from cheapies up to the high-end stuff.
  16. Don't forget Tag Heuer. There are several models at around the size you're looking for, and they're not too flashy to be believable.
  17. Good to hear that the worst is over... Hope you catch up with the fwit who started it.
  18. Okay, here's the latest aquisition and the first budget PAM I've come across that was worth having. I've been on the lookout for a PAM 127 "Fiddy" for some time. The problem with these is two-fold: firstly, there isn't an "Ultimate" Fiddy around that's worth the name - all of them have fairly major flaws, and secondly it's a very big watch at 47mm and I wasn't sure that I'd be comfortable wearing it. I therefore didn't want to spend too much on it - but nevertheless wanted something decent. I'd been looking at a few versions around the $150 region, but hadn't found anything that looked reasonable until I came across this one from PWC for $99. It arrived in just over a week, and Robert was very helpful answering questions before purchase. I think I'll be buying from him again. Good stuff: The dial is nice and crisp, as are the hands. The case looks the part - the CG isn't too bad at all and the crystal has a nice profile. The lume is outstanding for such a cheap rep - especially on the hands. The strap is easily the best rep strap I've come across - nice and thick with a good tang buckle. It needs 'wearing in' as it's a tad stiff, but that's to be expected. It's way better than the 'croc' strap that came with my 'ultimate' 111h, and at least as good as a BOB strap I bought recently. The movement is the ever-reliable Asian version of the 6497. No worries there although, of course, it's not the swan-neck version. Not-so-good stuff: The crown is a little too skinny and the CG lever is a bit floppy The crystal is mineral glass and there's no AR (unsurprising at this price) The engravings on the movement are incorrect for a Fiddy (also unsurprising at this price and entirely as expected) Overall a pretty good score for such an inexpensive rep. It feels like quality, has a good weight and will, I suspect, get a lot of wrist time. The only downside is that, having realised that whilst it's flamin' big, it's not TOO big, I should probably have bought a better one. Oh well - I can always upgrade later Seriously, though, this is possibly the highest-quality 'cheapie' I've yet seen - in terms of sheer build quality it leaves all of my other cheaper reps standing. Sorry for the quality of the photos - I took them early this morning and only had artificial light to work with. Edit: updated the crappy wrist shot with a marginally less crappy one (but only marginally lol).
