  1. I have four Steinhousen quad winders. All bought two or more years ago. Each one has been slowly dying. First one winder gets loud then eventually stops, then another. I first thought is was the motors going bad. It's actually the circuit boards that have gone bad, loose their power output. I can source motors but cannot source circuit boards for repairs. As The Cack said - they now make nice presentation boxes.
  2. Thanks sssurfer for the advice. Appreciate the information. Looks like another new Pam project is about ready to start for me.
  3. I see Jimmyzfu has Pam 44mm cases cheap. Is this a universal size replacement case? Say - could I put a Davidsen Pam, with striped out lugs and oversize lug holes, into this new case without any mods? Just dreaming of a way to fix these annoying problems on my new watch. Thanks guys,
  4. I know people do not like to disclose their dealer when these problems occur. However, it would be a benefit to the community to know the source. This problem is generally no reflection upon the dealer himself. The manufacturer slipped this used movement in with the usual production. Noting the source would alert forum members to carefully check their recent purchases. I recall a few years back, Paul had a large number of used / rusted ETA movements. If I remember correctly, this was promptly disclosed in this forum and restitution was made. I would want to know if this is an isolated instance or a harbinger of events to come.
  5. I have been using one of these for some time now that came originally from Otto Frei. Comes with five different diameter size pins. The weak point is that it does not come with any base plate shims. The pin needs to go in perfectly straight vertically or you will snap the pin in two. The tolerances is some of my reps is not good and sometimes it takes a tremendous force to push the pins out.
  6. The bottom line of this discussion, like so many similiar threads, is we all want better reps for our hard earned money we spend. We want better movements. We want better dial fonts. We want better crown guards. We want better date wheels. I want my Pam's to arrive without striped out lugs !!! ARGH !!! I want my Pam's to have the correct color lume !!! ARGH !!! ARGH !!! I like to believe, true or not, that our forums helps to drive the manufacturers to produce better reps. The demand for high quality reps; i.e. the money; has given us better products today compared to just a few years ago. Manufacturers will not produce better reps without significant financial incentive. I am sure more reliable Asian 7750's are in our future. I am eagerly awaitng their arrival, (with cash in hand).
  7. Puts a whole new slant on the meaning of "drop shipping" I have never before considered until now. Variations: ...dropped it a few times then shipped it out to you. ...dropped it down a flight of stairs then shipped it. ...dropped it out of my car then I shipped it. I have kissed a number of 7750 frogs here ... just keep getting these warts. Still waiting for my princess, ... with big hooties.
  8. Brand spanking new IWC GST Chrono Titanium. Out of the mailing box, initail wind-her-up a bit, then onto the watch winder for two weeks. Off the winder and on the wrist for two weeks of wear. At this point now four weeks of continuous running, chrono's not even tested yet. Try the chrono - works fine - but the 6:00 chrono will not reset at all !!! ARGHHH - screwed again !!! I suspect there are many guys just like me in this forum. Curse their bad luck and say nothing more about it. At least the watch continues to keep good time. Another victim of the Asian 7750.
  9. What in the world is a "captian".
  10. There are more paperweights with a dead 7750 inside than any other movement in my collection. So I have stopped buying reps with this movement because its a waste of my money, guess this is kind of a financial boycott then. However, I am considering buying the Breitling Chrono Avenger Titanium with the old 7750 and changing out to the Swiss 7750 movement.
  11. David son uses Pam screws in the lugs like every other dealer. However, they are a different size than any other Pam I own. Also, the only Pam's I have bought that came stripped - both watches, total all four lugs ruined. Since so many screw lugs come stripped out from him, he is including the new springbars for a fix. As you have read above, the spring bars are too small diameter and they don't work.
  12. My vote - Omega Constellation Double Eagle, perfect young ladies watch. http://watchwindersworld.com/omco10020-dou...6712-p-648.html
  13. Correct - traditional style spring bars with cut out on the very end that makes it appear to be a traditional screw rather than spring bar. In my case the problem is the spring bar diameter is smaller than the lug hole - spring bar passes easily thru the lug hole and falls out. No way to anchor it except glue it in. The lugs have been badly stripped - it will not hold any Pam type screw either.
  14. I just got both the 005 and the 111H. I have to admit I am disappointed for the price paid. The over all quality is very good. However three big problems with the 111H. The sandwich effect of the dial is practically non existent. There appears to be no distance between the top dial and the lumed sub dial surface. Its takes magnification to notice the space, its there - but minimal. Without magnification it looks just like my 111G. The lug screws come completely stripped out. They will not hold a strap in place. He was kind enough to include the new spring bars. However these pass right through the lug holes. Too small to hold the strap in place. The spring bars just fall completely out of the lug. You will have to glue the pins in place of all things! Lastly David son did not answer my email and address the problems. He has chosen to ignore my polite inquiry of product issues. Disappointed in product, disappointed in service. I was hoping he was better than this. At this point I cannot recommend him. I wish it wasn't so.
  15. All I really want is a quality 7750 movement with seconds at six. Just the movement would do nicely please. Imagine all the Daytona paperweights out there that would come back to life as real watches.
  16. Its going to get worse here guys. We were mostly ignored when we were a small, fairly secretive society. With all this current high visability product promotion, with obvious high volume sales, we attract lots of attention and scrutiny. Totally different from the early days of buying / selling replica's in these forums. They probably can't shut us down in this forum. However, they can shut down our current methods of doing business. That's what they are after, sellers and their way of doing business. Looks like its working to me. A few will survive, most will not. Just my observation. Most unfortunate.
  17. Don't know for sure but highly unlikely. Many complain they can't even get thick straps on his watches because of lug / screw issues.
  18. Bought my first Pam the 111G the first week they were offered. Terribly inacurrate looking movement with ugly foil glued on the plates. Otherwise from the dial side she is beautiful. Slapped a solid back on it, hide the ugly movement and poof! Now got a nice 001.
  19. Thanks longshot and avitt. His location makes him easily accessible. The only other question then is the price tag.
  20. What I am particularly interested in is their relume service. Any of you guys do business with them? http://www.everestwatchworks.com/index.html
  21. Thanks babola. Thanks also for everyone's responses. So the correct answer for the proper lume color on my new David son 005 is.............none of the above. The current 005 lume color which is green, probably C7 or perhaps C5, is completely wrong. Closer to correct would be C1 or C3, even better a mixture of both. However, the glow then is still totally wrong. Should glow blue rather than green. So did I finally got this correct?
  22. Are all the Pam's with the "L Swiss L" , including my new 005, suppose have C3 lume as the correct color?
  23. I guess I am all confused. I thought all the Pam's with the "L Swiss L" were to have C3 lume as the correct color. This is Tritec's color description: C3 yellow C5 green-yellow C7 blue-green My brand new 005 color looks more like C7 when compared to the Tritec color chart
  24. So I just picked up the David son Pam 005 with Superlumed C3 dial. I am amazed how green the lume is in hand versus looking at the sale pictures. Especially side by side to any of my Pam's it is Jolly Green Giant green. Is this really the correct color lume for this model? Thanks guys,
