  1. @johnboy777, Please lets us know what movement is in this Seawolf when you find out. thanks, JJ
  2. Got to agree here with tourbillon. If I get another Daytona, it will be with the Venus 175 movement. All my Venus 175's are working without a problem.
  3. Just an update. This Daytona is now DEAD. Never going to buy a Asian 7750 with seconds at 6 ever again. (Not unless they make them more reliable.)
  4. Found this in the latest issue of Rolling Stone Magazine. John Mayer with his Panerai and Fender guitar. Good taste is watches and guitars.
  5. Thanks for the leads sssurfer, Highflyingclive & tescardo. Appreciate the assistance!
  6. Looking for two solid case backs. I have a first generation 111g with incorrect movement. Would like to find solid case back to cover up movement and turn it into a 001. Next, a first generation 090 with see thru back. Would like to find solid case back to cover movement as it should look. Anyone got any leads?
  7. To more thoroughly confuse me now I find this at a Panerai site: "The Pam 1 is a Luminor Marina with a seconds hand dial at 9 o'clock. The seconds hand enables the Marina line to qualify for a COSC certificate. In 2002 (E series) the entire "Historic" line was changed to a sapphire display back using a new movement with a swan's neck regulator." So the 001 was a solid back until 2002 when they then changed it to a display back? Did this model then become in fact the 111 model?
  8. Help me out here guys. Suffering a memory lapse. If you take a Pam 111G model and put a solid case back on it, what model does it then become? If I recall properly, some members here took their early 111G's with the incorrect appearing movement and placed a solid caseback on them to cover the glaring mistake on the back. Others have apparently changed out the old movement for the newer version now available. Thanks guys,
  9. Dig this crazy Daytona he is selling.
  10. Let me say I am probably one of the few guys that bought the same watch at the same time from two different dealers to see if there was really any difference. Paul was one dealer because his price was so much less than any other dealer. I then picked out another regular dealer that I had done significant business with. The Explorer II's arrived about the same time. I was at first biased thinking that the more expensive watch must be of better quality. I paid significantly more - it must be better. After a few hours of close inspection I could see no difference between the two watches! Now, one year later both are still running like exact twins. Now I am sure this is not true for every watch in a dealers collection. There are bound to be variables. That said, I just received two GMT II's from Paul. I am again happy with my purchases. For me it was good price, good service, good product. Your actual results may vary, and in my experience, this is true for any dealer.
  11. It would be in our best interest not to discuss methods of trafficking of our illegal contraband on public forums. Reputable dealers know the best way to distribute merchandise. If you must speak, please talk in generalities, not specifics. No need to endanger our sport.
  12. The replica lion looks like a cartoon character compared to the genuine article. The edge design is totally wrong also. Sign me up for one, but not until a better model than the current offering comes out.
  13. ....so our once high quality replica's are now starting to head in the Canal Street quality direction? We need to figure out where this particular replica comes from. Just when it starts to get better, it suddenly gets worse.
  14. Wrong on that one. GMT II 50th Anniversary is also made in two-tone.
  15. This issue has been debated extensively in replica sites and also genuine sites. Bottom line - doesn't seem to make any difference. Only real reason I prefer winders is so the time, date, day, month, etc is correct. Pick up any watch in the morning and its good to go. Except for tomorrow when I start resetting them because of daylight savings time.
  16. As usual neither replica version is correct.
  17. Most interesting pictures. My Paul GMT exactly the same except for the bracelet clasp.
  18. The stitching doesn't look right to me. Especially the alligator. Pictures are way too small to clearly scrutinize the workmanship. The distance between the stitches seems to vary to much. Stitch line is not straight either. I am quite critical of the sew job when I buy straps.
  19. Got mine from Paul. Only place i could find with the stainless steel / black face / green bezel / eta 2836. Happy with my purchase, I personally have always had good luck with Paul.
  20. Okay so I admit it. I love the new GMT II 50th Anniversary in stainless steel. Not the gold model, not the two tone model. Make mine the plain stainless steel with the green bezel / black face. Yes I know its not an authentic color combination, gold or two tone only. But the stainless steel / green bezel / black face - it looks so cool. So I buy the piece cause I just gots to have it. Now I notice that it does not have the usual GMT crown / guards. At first I thought it was a typical replica defect. But no - even the authentic has the submariner like crown / guards. Quite odd for a GMT 50th Anniversary to be sporting the sub crown / guards don't you think? Replica:
  21. Green rouge on a Dremel with felt wheel does the trick for me.
  22. The problem with the current 212 is the blatant face error of the minute markers. If they would just fix this properly I would be first in line for one. The authentic with minute markers outward: The replica automatic movement, note inward minute markers: The replica with manual Venus 175, note outward minute markers: Also note the crown guard is not engraved on this model.
