I would add that our own demand for improvement in our watches also drives up to cost considerably. Remember the watches we got years ago? Replicas that were reasonably good and reasonably cheap. We then demanded better quality products and by god we got them. But at a much higher price. I have got to say I love the overall better quality products we now get. Still criinge at some of the price tags.

Dealers and modders are policed by the same method in these forums. Some member takes the bait and pony's up the cash for the product / mod. If it turns out well then their happiness is posted for all to read. If it turns out poorly then the crap-ola is posted for all to read. It is impossible to judge products / mods without these products / services first being delivered. In addition a dealer / modder may start out fabulous, then at some point fizzle out. ie "Base" did some excellent mods for me, Luckyyy sold me some great pieces. I personally had good dealings with both, many others got the big screw --- both now long gone because of issues. It is each and everyone's duty as a forum member to post their good / bad experiences and name the dealer / modder. This is our time honored method of weeding out the bums. Not perfect but works reasonably well. Through the years I personally have learned to not be the first on any offer. I let others with more disposible income test the murky waters. I tally up the positive and negative reports then make my informed decision. Even then it is still a gamble for me.

Don't waste your time opening up the winder. The circuit board on these Steinhausen winders go bad. Impossible to source a new circuit board. You now have a nice looking display box. (I have several of the quad winders that are now lovely display boxes.)

When I see these type of posts I am always disappointed to not find the person named who did the work. After all, the reason this forums existence is to protect us members from costly trumpery.

How totally uncouth. That is definitely not a vinyl couch. It is genuine Naugahyde. Do you have any idea just how many Naugahydes were killed in the making of that couch? Oh the horror.

First they replicate the watches. Now they replicate the movements. Not too surprised this happens with the new ETA movement shortage. We shall see more of these imitations in the future. I would hope dealers market these as Asian ETA copy and not genuine ETA. I am impressed with this movement copy. Could have easily passed as authentic by my eye. It appears to be reasonably well made, save some cosmetic blemishes. Maybe not an ETA - but a good copy overall. Time will prove whether this movement has durability.

I believe that is the case price - 10 bottles to the case. $78 per case of ten bottles = $7.80 a bottle.

Yes, the old Avenger Seawolf is a fabulous watch. Got it and love it. The Chrono Avenger is awesome also. Don't got it, want it very badly. Anyone got one for sale? The Avenger Skyland black steel case is way cool too. Can't wait to see this one in rep, sometime in 2008? Sign me up for one now!!!

May I point out that it is easy to have a watch that runs fast and not know it. I may wear a watch for one day - wind and set it first thing in the morining, wear it the entire day, put it in the watch box at the end of the day, then not wear it again for a month. Only if I wear the same watch several days in a row would I notice if it ran fast. The only exception to this rule is my watches that are in the watch winder. These should be time-wise right on when they are pulled out of the winder in the morning. Many people sell watches that have been sitting unworn in a drawer. I am sure I can find some of my watches that have not seen daylight in a year or more!

Davidsen's Fiddy is his best made product in my opinion. I have been disappointed / critical of his previous 111H and 005 models. The 127 craftsmanship is just plain superb. Well worth any extra bucks. Recommendation - if you got a big enough wrist then buy it. However, they do look awkward on a skinny wrist.

I would be happy with just a reliable 7750 movement with seconds at 6:00. After all, they have a very nicely made 7750 with seconds at 3:00. Think of all the thousands of Daytona paperweights we forum members have laying around. Drop in the new, improved 7750 movement with seconds at 6:00 and "poof", brand new working Daytona arises from the ashes. We will henceforth call it the Daytona Phoenix model !!! Besides that I would like a Breitling Chrono Avenger titanium with correct bezel, just like the old factory ones please. ....dream on JJ

I remember my first MBK submariner, at that time MBW submariner. Considerably more money for a watch I thought looked no better than others I have bought for less than half the price. I was disappointed to say the least. With all the hoopla raised here I thought the MBK submariner would have been much better quality. Perhaps great for fanatic modders, but not for me. The legend is better than the product.

This is an interesting statement. Movement traders? First time I have heard this name. ..and what does "who actually registered watch brands companies in China and Hong Kong" mean. I don't quite understand this.

First, I have no dog in this hunt. The pictures will speak for themselves. They are the only accurate documentation of the workmanship performed. They are worth viewing before you form opinions based solely on rhetoric.

I would like to see the pictures of this watch. A single picture would tell me more than six pages of rhetoric.

I remember buying some really high quality springbars for mine. Bought quite a large number because I had so many watches. Darn things wouldn't work at all - fit through the bracelet fine,but would not slip into the lug holes. Seems like they were about two hairs width thicker than OEM and would sit too far away from the case to drop into the lug holes. Kasigi has got the line on the appropriate springbars for you.

@scoobs - If that is the new, improved dial - even with better than 10X magnification, I cannot really tell if that is in fact a sandwich dial. Looks just like my 111G dial. Peculiar issue with only DSN sandwich dials I believe? Needs a bit more space between the two dials to give it the appearance of proper depth. DSN produces some of the very best - absolutely love his new fiddy, truly a masterpiece! This dial issue is a strange mystery to me.

I am sure everyone has seen the new improved DSN 111H just released. Never ceases to amaze me just how good our reps are getting over the past few years. My last DSN 111H from a few months ago is good, but had very little depth between the dial faces. This gave it the appearance of being a 111G if one did not look close enough to see the cut out dial. Granted I have only a couple other 111H's to compare the DSN to, and have never seen the real deal except in pictures. So my judgement is tainted comparing a rep to another rep - which is a terrible way for me to make this decision. My question for the forum Pam WIS, and perhaps any owners of the new improved DSN 111H. How is the sandwich dial depth? Is it deeper than the last batch? Can you now really see that this is a sandwich dial Pam? Just how deep is the sandwich dial suppose to be anyway? Certainly deep enough to make it obvious it is a sandwich dial I would think. From the pictures it appears to me the DSN 111H has very little depth to it like previous models. Thumbmodds new improved 111h seems to have much deeper sandwich dial depth to it, you can really tell it is a 111H. Appreciate your comments.
