Hi Eddy, the Hermes actually arrived before the watch. I've hesitated mounting it, however, because the short and long sides of the strap have different textures. As shown in the pic below, the short buckle side has the classic hermes bumpy texture, while the longer side has the same pattern but is smooth. I emailed Bruce at watches24seven, and he's going to take care of it when he gets back from vacation. Btw, Bruce is great to work with, very responsive and accountable. He even gave me his phone number to call him while on vacation, which was above and beyond. Regarding the strap, it is uber thick and soft. I love the bumpy texture also. And, the color is a rich, deep orange - I just love it.

With everyone receiving the first batch of EL 187's, I thought I'd put up a serial number registry for RWG 187 owners. Buy now, so you have it now. Then sell it later when (or if) the 7753 version comes out. If I end up liking the 187 enough, I may just do that - sell it later if the 7753 comes out, or mod it if someone comes up with a way to make an upgrade possible.

My reps are less expensive than gens. But, they're not cheap, especially after modding them to include oem parts. Still, I appreciate wearing them without worrying about inevitable wear through normal, careful use. I've owned gens, but didn't like the constant fear of dinging, scratching the them.

Carbon fibre looks great. Nice. I think I'll have to pickup a carbon strap.

Well, here's one that's bound to polarize opinions . . . I just bought an orange 'hermes' leather strap from watches24seven. I was looking for a nice denim blue colored one, but settled on this for my 187.

That's not a gap - at least not on mine. I think what you're seeing is a shadow resulting from a difference in angle and height between an angled surface of the case and the back of the He valve crown.

Anyone know if this movement is different than the one's used in ETAWorldgood's version? I'm feeling the fever on this one, but I'm just a bit concerned about the movement issues. Hmmm. Anyone looking for an MBW 1680???

Well, at least the 111H has a nice thick crown - not the anemic flimsy looking thing on the $380 versions out there! At that price though, I think the 'flaws' are easily overlooked.

I think the best response is to ask whether the person thinks it's a rep and most importantly on what basis. Most people think they have the 'inside scoop' because they know about the sweeping second hand thing - LOL. Or, in your case, the alleged crooked upside down text. With that out in the open, it would be easy to dismiss the person as not really know what the hell they're talking about it. You did the right thing making think he knows what's up - let him think he's fooling people with his piece of sh*t Polex. (Oh wait . . . my 1680 is engraved Polex. It must be a piece of sh*t.)
