  1. So HAL knows that the celestial phenomenon Time To Kill is an dangerous anomaly or is he just yellow? Besides such a dispute is very entertaining for the onlookers and lets remember its just the internet. In the morning one will still wake up alive and well (mostly)
  2. The sun is up and its not cloudy So! If you live in Alaska or Cape Town what tells time better (most accurately) your wrist watch or a sundial? "I am a sundial, and I make a botch Of what is done far better by a watch" Let us hear your opinion/knowledge on this topic Regards Gunnar Gran
  3. New Task!!! Clue: this watch has a single power source (hand wind) Qs:What kind of movement is this and what horologist made this watch? and who was granted a US patent for this clockwork setup 100 years or so earlier?
  4. Good jobb cornerstone its true that I have to stop linking like that "The first ever Timex watch, from US Time. The US Time Corporation had been making clocks with the "Timex" name for a short time before this, but the Timex name first appeared on a watch, in this prototype model. During the war, like most other industries, the US Time factories were converted to war production. Civilian watchmaking came to a halt. According to the well-researched book, book by Kathleen McDermott, Timex: A Company and its Community 1854-1998, "In October 1945, after using this name on a small trial shipment of nurses watches for a year - the very first time that the Timex name appeared on a watch - US Time received official rights to trademark 'Timex.'" I have confirmed with Mr. Carl Rosa, historian and curator at the Timexpo Museum in Waterbury, CT, that this is indeed the watch. It is interesting: Based on the McDermott research, the watch appears to have been shipped in 1944, probably made that same year, or maybe 1943. There was no civilian watch production at US Time, and presumably a watch designed to be worn by nurses was considered to have been in the vital interest of the war effort. Well, not a military watch, but definitely a wartime production watch"
  5. I presume our hard earned RWG cash is legal tender to be used in the raffles?
  6. This questions is not about a Horologist but about a watch!!! What is so special about this particular watch? and during what period was it first made? and why were they able to make (only) this watch at the time? Regards Gunnar
  7. Welcome b16a2 Most Vacheron Constantin and Jule Audemars (Audemar Piguet) watches can be considered exellent dress watches but also most Patek, IWC, JLC watches and the like are also very very dressy take your time Regards Gran
  8. Looking at this watch I wonder what the potential customers might be is it only for die hard Bond fans? I have a similar feeling towards the Olympic watches from Omega and Longines. They look great while the Olympics is going on but looks silly in the periods in between the event
  9. They are all recommended, but since you are so shy try Joshua first.
  10. Thank God for the taxman without taxes Norway would be like Monaco but what is he doing on a replica site...? here we do all we can to avoid tax etc...
  11. No proper record of what happend prior to the termination is recorded. What is certain is the member gran was downgraded to a lower level security clearance needing tasks. Possibly some hardware failure or subspace distortion caused a system security override. However member gran still posses all the old classified security information in a bomb and alcohol proof storage facility.
  12. Well maybe not exactly from "outta space" but maybe from the outer reaches of the carb nebula? or? didnt you ever meet Ford Prefect?
  13. Neil has gone quiet as a lamb and is posting almost less often here than Nixon is. Tragic! g.

  16. How would you rank the movements produced/used by Sea-Gull? and is it so that they ("the ones with complications") can not be replaced? http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=3760 Regards Gunnar
