Tis a lovely watch Lani. I been looking at a SOHC or a SOH for some time now and about to pull the trigger but some people say the clasp is rubbish. Is this true? what is the clasp like on yours? Also which do you think is the better movment between the SOH and SOHC? Not sure which one to go for now chrono looks superb! Kind regards. Marc.

No they are not, just checked mine. Marc.

Don't think so just the dot's and hands. Marc.

Use PVA to cover the gold letters and they should stay for ever Kind regards. Marc.

It is a beautiful rep, Stunning in fact! But that movement, I'm afraid would put me off! It just looks so wrong. I don't mean to offend anyone but it doesn't look good, in such a good looking rep. I have a noobmariner with a gen ETA and despite it not being as good as a rep, when you take the back of it and see the movement, you just think ahhh looks damn good! And yes the crowns are bigger on the new Subs. I was shocked when about a month ago i compared mine with a new gen and, well couldn't tell the difference! Once again though, Best looking sub I've seen! Kind regards. Marc.

Quality! very funny! hehe. If we're talking about cars and speed, then we are all noobs. As this is a watch forum! If i was you i would just stop posting on this topic Robbie and lose a bit of atittude. Kind regards. Marc.

I don't think you guy's are wrong, complaining about these QC issues. I have a noobmariner and i have to say the quality is top notch and it says Rolex Geneve Switzerland on the case back. The watch cost a lot less, so i too would complain. But Chris is a good guy so i am sure your problems will be sorted, but not for a week or two as he is busy sorting his new web site. kind regards. Marc.

All i can say is, can't wait for the new Audi A1!

Ive been after one of these for a while as well, but unfortunately the pound isn't worth a blow on a rag man's balloon at the moment. There is a version 2 out, which has the correct datewheel and superocean sign ligned up properly. Fab watch! PAMman do you have any wrist shots? Please.

Hold up! does this mean that the Noobmariner IS THE BEST SUB? Haha. Actually you could have it spot on! i have always been told the crown on the noob was too big, So when i saw it on the gen i thought, eh up it must have been changed. But like you said maybe my crown is the now the right size. kind regards. marc.

Nobody? wow i thought this would have drawn some replies.

Don't think because it is a rep that the quality won't be any where near as good. Some are very close indeed. The noobmariner for one, is excellent. Providing you get a good one that has been QC'd. Some watches have ETA movements, if you request them, which are they same basic movement in the original watch in a lot of cases. So good luck and have fun! kind regards. Marc.

I was at my local AD on Saturday picking up a replacement rubber strap for my seamaster. But before i went in, there is a Rolex AD next door, and in the window he had a new display of subs. Anyway, i noticed the crowns where huge! I had my Noobmariner on my wrist and held it up to the window there was not 6 inches between the gens and mine. I could not tell the difference! they where very big, bigger than the pics behind the watches on the displays. Needless to say i was very surprised.

I saw something really funny on a label inside a t shirt, on the web once. Basically the t shirts where made in USA but where going to France. Anyway it had 100% cotton, the washing instructions (all in French) then It said: Our president, George W Bush is an idiot, we are sorry, we did not vote for him! I did find it very funny! But on a serious note a lot of Americans actually vote for the correct man. There's just too many idiots voting for the wrong man.

Sorry JohnG, you are in Spain, So less of the 'you' from me.

Well you guy's are now buying loads of Toyota's and Honda's. More than us, we seem to be buying up all the 4x4's that you are no longer buying! And the crazy thing is Diesel is

I hope Obama wins, i think he will do wonders for the USA and the world for that matter. The one thing i have to say, to the people saying how America is on the verge of bankruptcy. It's your own fault! Now please don't get me wrong here, i don't want to offend anybody, but for years your consumption of fuel has been simply astonishing! Matched by your hunger for having or living 'the American dream' needing massive cars with even bigger engines, very large houses that take a lot of resources to build and run. This has left you relying on other countries to supply your needs. Now here's the problem Americans are now starting to drive smaller cars and act in a more socially responsible way, whilst in the UK we are buying bigger cars and consuming more and more energy. This is causing major problems over here. The celebrity obsessed culture costs a lot of money, money we simply don't have. So it is all borrowed with no obvious way to pay it back. so if we are not careful we will also be on the verge of bankruptcy. I'm of to France!

@MAJO you're right. I can live with the odd small flaw or inaccuracy, so long the quality of the watch is very high. Which one is going to stand out more, a well made watch with an oversized crown or slightly thinner 6 and 12 or an acurrate replica made badly?
-
Thanks for all the replies guy's. Especially you fat.tail, as it seems your watch has held up to a few beatings! Still undecided it may have flaws but it's bloody beautiful!

It is a beautiful watch and like i say it really caught my eye. I was looking at the Breitling soh, as there is a super rep of that. But now i'm not sure. Is it worth getting an ETA version, or are the asian movments good enough, do you think? And what are the serious flaws jot9011? kind regards. Marc.

Just looking at getting my second rep when i stumbled on this watch. So i did a search and it seems a pretty good watch. But one recurring problem was the crystal breaking or popping out. Is this still a problem, or has it been fixed now? what do you guy's think of this watch? kind regards. Marc.

Review of ROLEX Submariner WM9 v1, the "Super Sub"
marcl replied to By-Tor's topic in By-Tor's Watch Reviews
Ha ha It's all very exciting! Theses reps are getting so good and improving so quickly that i can imagine Rolex joining the forum, in a few years and asking the likes of By-Tor, how to get there subs looking as good as the reps! -
Review of ROLEX Submariner WM9 v1, the "Super Sub"
marcl replied to By-Tor's topic in By-Tor's Watch Reviews
@ im2 I didn't mean it to sound like that. What i meant is, By-tor is saying the crystal and gasket swings it in favour of the WM9. However if Chris is changing these in future, Does it swing in favour of the Euromariner? Seems to me that the most important things are: dial braclet crystal. therefore it could be suggested that the euromariner now has the 'best' of all worlds. No? -
Can't wait to see all these pictures guy's! come on! please, please please! kind regards. Marc.
