Your final result doesn't look too far off of the first rep I purchased, pre-RWG. I wondered if you would bring this post over. It is a true classic. Remind me to never lend you a watch. Cheers, CM

Both are South of Market Momo's is across the street from the ballbark- Good food drink and a nice patio if the weather is warm. It is a quick muni connection off BART. Thirsty Bear is between 2nd and 3rd on Harrison I think. It is a short walk from BART. They have great beer and tapas. I know quite a few restaurants in the Bay Area so I can pick a good place in most areas. As far as a timeframe I can do most weekends other than May 13th. Cheers, CM

A couple locations to think about. Momo's (last location decided on) Thirsty Bear All serve cocktails so we are safe. I'm in the East Bay (680) so anything on that side would work too.

Welcome fellow engineer. I say that although I'm non-practicing. I couldn't engineer my way out of a paper bag now. If you are like me you will really enjoy learning about all the movements. Oh, and don't worry about this turning into another expensive habit and you spending all your money. It will and you will. Cheers, CM

Welcome. You wouldn't happen to have a 7753 PAM 187 sitting there next to you, would you? OK, how about the best sub??? Throw me a freakin' bone. Look forward to seeing your watches. Cheers, CM

Welcome. You did a lot better on your first rep then I did. I get sick every time I think about how bad it was. Just think of all the great watches you have access to now. Enjoy yourself, learn a bunch and try not to go to the poor house building the ultimate rep collection. Cheers, CM -

Has anyone had a package at Canada Customs

Mad-Cow Disease, otherwise known as bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE), are caused by infectious prion molecules that are very hard to destroy by heat or chemicals, and can last years in the soil. Nobody knows if other feed animals such as pigs and chicken can also spread BSE, or whether other products of cattle such as leather can spread BSE. Maybe you can get it from your leather wallet, nobody knows yet. My advice, don't eat your wallet or your watch strap. Cheers, CM -
I'm in. We almost had one organized a while back but it fell apart at the last minute.

For me it really depends on the watch. I don't mind paying extra for a nice movement. I choose or upgrade to ETA whenever possible. Being the type that owns both reps and gens I don't always go the rep way. Bottom line, if I can get an accurate watch with a good movment for 1-10% of gen price I'm going rep. Plus the service of a chrono movement can be less than the $300 range. Cheers, CM

You can send them to spoof@pp.com. Who knows, maybe it will help them go after someone. Or you can do what I do and make pp-phisher voodoo doll. -
I have a 1972 folded link on my DW. It is model #7835. Cheers, CM

I was checking out the FM 044 on King's site. It is listed as "swiss". Does anybody know more about the movement? I assume the tourbillon is asian. I remember a few posts talking about an asian tourbillon review by The Zigmeister(a while back on RWGI). Any ideas on the rest of the movement? Overall watch quality? http://www.kingshowbox.com/0.htm Thanks for the help! Cheers, CM

DW stands for David Wong. A dealer from a while back that had the best vintage daytona. You will see some examples shown if you search. I was one of the lucky ones who bought one. Cheers, CM

I love how the author points out the heft of a gen rolex. "Take a Rolex, for example. You could probably use it for your light set of bicep curls" Other than gold rolex they all seem light to me. "check if the bracelet is full and sturdy; fake watches usually have empty bracelet links" Ha! I guess all those hollow mid links must be fake. I wonder if this author has ever owned a nice gen?

Is there a demand for a better qaulity of rep?
Chicken Manny replied to alwyn's topic in General Discussion
I think there is a group that would pay high dollars for the right rep. While I'm not a huge gold fan I would pay a premium for a correct solid 18k/rose gold dress watch. Now when it comes to movements I don't mind paying more for a nice movement or putting one in a rep if it isn't offered. Basically if I think the overall quality of the movement and materials is high then I will pay a high price. Now that I have said that, somebody please make a 7753 PAM 187. -
I'm always amazed at the work put in on these upgrades. Thank you to all for the time and effort. I will take 2 as well. Cheers, CM

OMG! What if Jetmid can't find us???
Chicken Manny replied to Chicken Manny's topic in General Discussion
You are right, Esmarc. Either he has sat link in the jet or we have an imposter. The plot thickens.... -
I just realized that Jetmid might be on a long-term-globe-hopping flight in his private jet. He might not have access to the old RWG! Can we really risk him not finding us? Oh the humanity!

Caught me with a gen. Breitling Crosswind.

Please make sure you bring over all the "who has the best sub" posts. This place wouldn't be the same without those.
