Private Army Firms And Security Contractors
Chicken Manny replied to manuel's topic in The looney bin
As Nouns Defions states there are a wide range of contractor profiles. You hire security experts for high value targets and armed bodies for more general targets. Many of these men are very highly trained and extremely proficient in dealing with a wide range of 'events'. Asymmetric warfare requires different tactics and a rapid operational tempo. Just like in the corporate environment you place the right person for each job. It would be very difficult to make a blanket statement about 'contractors' because there is such a wide range of roles. I served with some of the best private operators serving and I can tell you they are true professionals and their services are of great value to their clients. Anyway, just my two cents. Cheers! -
I think I would purchase a well done version of any of these. I voted for the Brequet because it really jumped out at me but they all look good. It would be great to get access to something off the beaten path. Cheers!

Straps For Cartier Santos 100

You can fit the gen strap although they are tough to find at a good price. I purchased one on the bay. Otherwise HKTan will take care of you. -

No question in my mind about the movement. The movement would cost as much as the watch, but like you said the seagull seems to be holding up well. -
Adeeos you win the prize you syphilitic sow.

Why worry about importing Cubans when you have great Dominican cigars. Same taste, better quality. Now I won't get into Castro and his festive red panties/plum smugglers but don't let the laws keep you from great cigars. Cheers, CM

It is strange how stress increases bonding. I'm happy you both are safe and well. Now you have a great story!!!!

The link system is really well designed. I'm surprised the the makers didn't just shove pins in there. This watch is really growing on me.

I would send in a number of crystals if the pricing was right. Most would only need one side but the breitlings would be great with two.

Ap Spotted In Tahoe This Weekend!
Chicken Manny replied to Chicken Manny's topic in General Discussion
The place is a very small authentic mexican market that is mostly filled with day laborers and a very few 'gringos' that appreciate good mexican food. Almost nobody there speaks english (and my spanish isn't the greatest). This guy was a white guy in his 30's wearing a fleece vest and overdone running shoes. He looked much more like a 'dot com' guy than the owners son. I'm sure I stand out there too but he really looked out of place. Maybe he goes there every day and is their best customer, who knows? Damn nice watch though. -
I was up in Lake Tahoe for the weekend. It was a great weekend and near perfect weather for sitting on the dock and enjoying the sun. Anyway, stopped into a little mexican store to pick up some carne asada fixens' for dinner that night. The place has a very small taqueria attached to it so I decided to get a bite to eat. I go up and order and then stand in this tiny area waiting for the food to be prepared. While I'm doing that some guy comes in and goes straight to the salsa station next to me and starts filling up those little plastic containers with salsa. I thought it was a little odd because he hadn't ordered anything but figured he was just going to do that first and then order. After a minute or two my food was ready and I, wanting some salsa too, stand behind this guy, who now has over ten containers filled, and is still going. After waiting for a little while I asked him if I could jump in for a second and he moved over a little bit without saying anything. Overall he was just odd. Well when I looked over to check on his salsa production line what else did I see? A white gold AP Equation of Time! Beautiful Watch! Somewhere in the 75k+ range I think. I didn't say anything because at that point I really wanted to beat him about the head with a salsa spoon but I did enjoy the watch. As I sat at a table outside I watched him walk out with his free salsa collection and nothing else, get into a Porsche 4S Convertible and leave.

Remember The Slightly Frustrated Admin?

I agree. I'm a grape waiting to be picked. I will pay for average treatment but, hey, there is a VIP section, move over buddy. Now I will only sit in the corner and act cool but that is a different subject. Give the real collectors some value and I bet a few of us will kick in. Random thoughts: Special dealer sales Nanuq personal heavy handed rep service Giant Pornographic Avatars All plated watched upgraded to solid gold Polex reps will use OEM movements from this point forward. Just a few thoughts. Cheers, CM -
International Travel With A Rep...
Chicken Manny replied to LAWatchFan's topic in General Discussion
If I take more than two I print out the watch brand/model/serial number on a piece of paper and have them stamp it going in. If they give me any crap coming back you just show them the paper. Works every time. Now I just hope they don't notice all the '117' serial numbers on different watches. Man, that bugs me. -
Date window gaps are the worst. They catch my eye every time. Close behind is lume and AR coating.

Would you gentlemen be kind enough to point me the way to the shortest thread. I seem to be lost.

Theft of over $500 = Felony Theft = Very bad news Nothing draconian about it, just a really big mess and a major life style change. Just not worth it, IMO. Cheers, CM

Ran Into A Genuine Panerai Wearer At Starbucks
Chicken Manny replied to crystalcranium's topic in General Discussion
Every time I travel to Canada(or some other countries) I print the watch models and serial numbers on a piece of paper. When I go through customs I have them inspect and stamp the paper. If they even ask me about them on the way back I show them the paper and get a quick smile and get to move on through. Works every time. Cheers, CM
