  1. Unless I'm wrong I think the old case pams had a working date pusher. I never had to source a pusher.
  2. I must have purchased dozens of watches from EL. I hope he is still hanging out around here although I suspect he is sitting next to jetmid, drinking a chilled Corona while cruising at 30,000 feet in the lap of luxury.
  3. Was he really tall and good looking? Might of been me... Just kidding, I didn't make it to Barcelona this time. It was mostly in Italy and France with a little UK mixed in there. Did you give him the secret 'Jetmid' password?
  4. While traveling through Europe I took a few shots that I thought you might enjoy. We spent a number of glorious days on Lake Como and found a wonderful terrace bar in Varenna looking out across the lake with a perfect view and a canopy of vines. Heaven on Earth! I took a shot of my Chopard to try and capture the mood. Not the best of photo skills but I hope it translates a fraction of the fun the day presented. btw- I had the great honor of spending an evening in Paris with none other than the great Ryyannon. It was a wonderful time exploring Montparnasse, drinking wine, smoking cigars and engaging in excellent conversation. A true joy to meet you my friend and thank you for the kind hospitality. I hope to do it again soon.
  5. Sure, you can do both............. Although it might flood the watch. I would get it tested before you give it a shot.
  6. NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! I was hoping for a good one this time. I already have an IWC sec-at-six paperweight. Hopefully just a clearance issue.....
  7. Welcome! Any member of TRC comes with the highest honors.
  8. They do pop up on the bay from time to time for a bit over 120 usd. You do have to do a slight mod to them but they fit. My only word of caution is the gen croc they use isn't the best looking stuff I have seen. I would expect more from a gen strap.
  9. Love Zenith......Hate these to the Xtreme! Just looked at some in a dealer today and still hate them. With that said the rep looks worse than the gen. Wow, I feel better now after my rant!
  10. If you bring more than one or two I would have customs confirm their arrival into the first country. I usually print out the watch details and serial numbers on a sheet of paper and have customs stamp it. It has saved me a couple of times. If I'm traveling with the little lady (Internationaly) I actually fill out Certificate of Personal Effects taken Abroad (Form 4457). It is a bit of a pain but better than a crazy tax bill for the combo of my watches and her ring. It is only needed in the total of all watches, jewelry and cash is more than the amount allowed into that country without declaration. All it takes is one over achiever in customs to mess up your day. I have actually only had an issue once, in Canada of all places, but it taught me to start using the form. It shuts them up in about 2 seconds flat.
  11. Doh!! I hadn't seen it. I saw this one and it cracked me up.
  12. As I sit here behind this computer, I now realize that this definitely wasn
  13. The old case that used to be called the heavy case works. I have three of them and they work great. I think the second factory case had more flaws and the S/S was slightly lighter. I don't know if anyone was ever able to put a 7753 in the newer case. The Zigmeister's mastery of the subject should clear up the fine details. CM
  14. From what I understand the 18kt FM cases were produced some time ago. When I bought mine from EL he said they had been produced well before the price of gold took off. Who knows if the factory is still open? I second the question about the fastening points. My gold watches all have SS in crital attachment and wear areas. I would assume Panerai would do the same. That seems like quite the job for a rep factory to take up.
  15. I would be very interested. I love those Pelican cases. I own half a dozen but could use some more. Would love to know how much the 1750's are going for.... Thanks for the offer!!!!
  16. Great idea but I doubt he wants his name here. Also he doesn't want to work on chronos............
  17. I own the gen, TT, blue face with roman numerals. It is a great looking watch and I get compliments all the time when I wear it. The dial is very complex so it will be interesting to see if they can produce a good rep. Based on the newest generation of reps they might be able to pull it off. They are going to need to put some very heavy double AR or there will be an easy tell.
  18. Something tells me that dog is one death in a long string of cruel acts going back through that guy's history. This is likely the first time he produced it for the public 'enjoyment'. It's only a matter of time before he experiences the weight of Karma breaking his impotent spine.
  19. FM Conquistador with genuine ETA 2892 Solid 18k gold (yellow or rose) FM Casablanca with genuine ETA 2892 (thanks EL and Archibald :thumbsupsmileyanim) PAM027/028 with ETA 2892-Power reserve movement PAM029 with ETA 2893 PAM063 with ETA 2893 correct titanium PAM192 old case PAM188 with ETA 7753 old case PAM196 with ETA 7753 4rth gen Eddie Lee Fiddy DW 6263 with functioning mysery movement You guys are making me feel great about my collection!
  20. What a classic thread! A cornucopia of bad taste. I like the big bang and own two but they are testing the outer limits of my, well, limits. I do like the 3D dial version. Very cool. As far as the Long Island/Jersey Shore Gotti Crew, forgetaboutit. I haven't seen better fake tans since Admin D. Rice.
  21. 3 for me please!
  22. I was thinking about the Suunto T1 or T3 with the heart rate monitor. They seem well suited to the gym but I don't think they have a sapphire crystal. The other models I have looked at, like the X9i, were mineral glass.
  23. G-Shock all the way. I would also consider a Suunto but they have mineral glass crystals which might take a scratch. On a side note, I see a bunch of guys at the gym wearing 18kt day-dates and laugh inside every time. Don't be that guy... Now a 1680 would actually be cool.
  24. Get a big safe. Unless you live in the boonies most people won't take the time to try and break into it. Especially with the dog biting their [censored].
  25. Thanks Chieftang! I was aware of the length issue so I can understand a gen GMT hand but I was trying to figure out why someone would want a rep hand. Wouldn't it be the same length? If this is a correct length hand then I'd be interested in 3. If they are the same rep hands then I'm still confused....
