  1. It looks like a great time! Thanks for sharing the photos. That box of straps has me salivating
  2. I say you take out the kite board and ride the bore tide for all it's got! I'll be out back tanning. Can't wait to hear how it went.
  3. Mine says B100/500 so either they all do OR you stole my watch.
  4. Congrats ! Any secret doors open up? I figure I'll get there in about 2012.
  5. It was 78 degrees here in Northern California yesterday. It was like a perfect spring day. Tonight I had a nice dinner out on the patio. Man, I love this place.
  6. I'm still waiting for The Zigmeister's Super Flex stem project to finish up. That will solve everything. I'll take 10.
  7. Nanuq at the last neighborhood BBQ
  8. While I see your point I somehow doubt that you, even with your sleeves up, put off the same image. I think it goes back to how you carry yourself and if you can pull it off. I see a lot of guys that have expensive polished watches that don't even seem to know it's there. Then you have the guys that look to 'need' the watch as a indication of wealth or status. How many old guys have you seen with a polished YG DD that somehow pull it off? I bet you don't come off as blingy at all. One quick question: Do you think it is just the finish that is bothering you or do you think it is a combo of that and that it's a Rolex? I wonder if a nice polished unknown brand would strike you the same way. I felt something similiar with my first nice watch, a TT black sub. I loved that watch but just felt odd wearing it.
  9. Personally I'm a big fan of full contact competitive D&D. Major bucks I tell you. Haven't seen a diamond bezel on a HBB outside of gen but I'm sure someone makes it. Quality of CZ may not be up to your standards. Hard to bluff with cloudy CZ.
  10. Happy Birthday! The Zigmeister, did you wear your birthday suit while shoveling the driveway? Nanuq style?
  11. You are correct, Sir. A couple of beers watching football and I forgot all my urithra-matic.
  12. Our Country won't go on forever, if we stay soft as we are now. There won't be any AMERICA because some foreign soldier will invade us and take our women and breed a hardier race! -Chesty Puller
  13. I like the look of it and the thing looks brand new! I own a few of the squale cased divers and enjoy seeing the wide range of designs. Now for your kids hands.... Chicks dig big mitts.
  14. I wonder what we would see if we went back and looked at the first post of the senior members? I bet there was more of these type of posts than we would suspect. "Hi, my name is Chicken Manny. Who makes the Best AAAA+ Swiss Made, Italian Polished, 31 jewel SUB made by retired RLX watchsmiths? I only want to hear about dealers located in my neighborhood and my budget is $150."
  15. My wife has a Channel J12, Rolex YM, Panerai 50 and a Patek 24. All four are solid watches. Her two favorites are the J12 and the PAM 50. I'm still amazed she rocks the 50 with her tiny wrists but she pulls it off.
  16. Nothing wrong with a 40mm. You will get used to a larger size (even a big 40 like the Panerai) and soon you won't be able to go down. I'd say there is a good chance you will wear it for a while and than buy a 44mm. A year from now you will be posting bad [censored] wrist shots of your new 47mm.
  17. I think one of the new movements (out of an IWC Portugese) has been sent to Francisco for a break down. Waiting to see that post!
  18. The major difference in thickness between the two is in the caseback and crystal. About an inch thicker each. If the case is thicker it isn't by much. <1mm
  19. It looks good to my eyes, but I'm no expert. Lug holes may be depend on the year?
  20. It just came to me.... You know who is truly Old School AND works chest EVERY day?? JETMID
  21. Spidey7 + Corgi = BFF Welcome Spidey. Be prepared to spend more time and a lot more money during your stay here.
  22. Agreed. This seems like poking the bear. Let's not go out of our way to show up on someone's radar.
  23. Have a great time and stay away from this guy.
  24. Bwhahahhah! Is that you, Brother? Regarding O.S. I'm always amazed at the knowlege amassed in the pages of this and the previous forums. I guess in years spent (certainly money) I might approach the O.S. stamp but let's be serious, I'll always be a newbie compared to some great characters in the history of this hobby. Plus, this side of the watch collection really is more fun than the gen side. I enjoy both but the search for perfection with reps reminds me of playing golf. No matter how good you get you haven't mastered the game. I have a long way to go in both. As far as the people, that is what really brings me back, even when I take breaks. The gen side has nothing on you guys. I doubt they know what they are missing. Cheers, CM
  25. Blast from the past. Great to see the old names of my formitive years! Stick around and buy a couple hundred watches. It will be just like old times.
